China is working hard to help people manage their weight and live healthier. The government started a “Weight Management Year” program from 2024-2027 to fight against obesity (肥胖), which can cause health problems like diabetes and heart disease.
Key guidelines include:first, check your BMI (Body Mass Index (体重指数). For adults, a healthy BMI is between 18.5 and 24. If your BMI is between 24 and 28, you are overweight. A BMI of 28 or more means you are obese. Also, men should keep their waist under 90 cm and women under 85 cm.
Eating right and exercising are important. Eat whole-grains like brown rice, fresh vegetables, and lean proteins (蛋白质) such as fish, chicken or beans. Avoid fried foods and sweet snacks, and limit (限制) salt and oil. The guidelines even include regional (地区的) dishes to make healthy eating more interesting.
For exercise, try to do 15-300 minutes of activities like walking, cycling or dancing each week. Do strength exercises twice a week. If you sit for long, stand up and stretch every hour.
Small daily habits matter too.Teens should sleep 7 hours a night. When eating, have vegetables first, then meat, and finally rice or bread.

Hidden in Panjin, Liaoning, lies the Red Beach. It is not covered with sand, but with a special plant called Suaeda heteroptera. This plant turns bright red every autumn, creating a wonderful view. However, this place is more than just a scenic spot; it is a crucial part of the Earth's ecosystem.
The wetland acts like a giant kidney, filtering pollutants from the water and providing a safe home for hundreds of bird species, including the endangered red-crowned crane. In recent years, local government has stopped farming and fishing in the core area to restore the environment. Thanks to these efforts, the "red carpet" is spreading again, proving that nature can heal if we give it a chance.
