根据“warm and...”
“help sb. do sth.”
Our house was across the street from a famous hospital in the city. We lived downstairs and rented (出租) the upstairs rooms to the 35 .
One summer evening, there was a knock at the door. I opened it and saw a man. His face looked 36 . And he was so short that he was almost as tall as my eight-year-old son. However, his voice was pleasant. He said, “Good evening. I’m 37 if you have a room for just one night?” For a moment, I wanted to say no. But his following words 38 my mind. “I know my face looks terrible. But my doctor says with a few more treatments, I will look good.” he said, “I could just sleep in this rocking chair in the hallway.”
It didn’t take long to see that this old man had a big heart crowded into that tiny body. He told me he fished 39 a living to support his daughter, her three children and her husband, who was badly hurt in an accident. 40 , he didn’t tell it in a sad way. In fact, he was thankful that no pain 41 his illness. It was a form of skin cancer. He thanked God for giving him the strength to keep going. When I got up the next morning, he left, leaving a neatly folded bed.
A few days later, we received a box of fish packed with fresh leaves. He washed every leaf carefully, knowing that he must walk three miles to mail these and knowing 42 little money he had made the gifts more valuable. When I received these gifts, I often thought of the morning he left. My neighbor said, “Did you let that terrible-looking man stay last night? I 43 him! You will lose roomers by letting him in!”
Maybe we did lose roomers once or twice. But I know our family will always be 44 to him. He taught us to learn to accept the bad without complaining and the good with thanks.

35.B 36.A 37.C 38.D 39.A 40.C 41.B 42.A 43.C 44.B
doctors(医生)、workers(工人)、nurses(护士)均不符合常理。
handsome(英俊)、calm(平静)、angry(生气)均不符。
表示“想知道是否……”,wondering(想知道)符合。thinking(思考)、believing(相信)、knowing(知道),语气均不如wondering符合陌生人询问的语境。
lost(失去)、made(使)、kept(保持),均不符。
of(……的)、with(和)、 to(到),无此搭配。
Happily(高兴地)、Excitedly(兴奋地)、Naturally(自然地),均不符。
came to(达到)、came into(进入)、came on(开始),均不符。
what(什么)修饰名词,that(那)/when(何时)不符合语法。
accepted(接受)、punished(惩罚)、welcomed(欢迎),均不符。
polite(礼貌的)、helpful(有帮助的)、generous(慷慨的),都不符合。
IV.

Learning Happens Everywhere
Many people think learning only happens in classrooms, but that’s not true. Learning is not just about remembering facts from textbooks. It happens everywhere, anytime, and through many different experiences.
Mike used to believe learning was just about schoolwork. But after working as a volunteer in a summer camp, he changed his mind. He worked with kids and enjoyed making things together with them. This experience taught him how to communicate with children and solve problems in real-life situations. He learned that trying new things is also a way to learn.
We can learn from almost anything. Joining a school club teaches us teamwork. Doing a part-time job teaches us responsibility. Even cooking a meal for the first time teaches us new skills. These hands-on experiences are often more memorable than just reading about them in books.
The key is to keep an open mind. Be willing to try new things, and you’ll find that learning is a fun adventure that never stops.
48.What did Mike learn from his volunteering job at the summer camp?
A.He learned to hate kids.
B.He learned how to work with kids and solve real-life problems.

A.Joining a school club. B.Doing a part-time job.

A.Learning only happens in classrooms.

Last summer vacation, I went on a trip to Hongcun with my family. It’s an ancient village in Anhui Province, and it was such a wonderful experience! We took a bus there, and the ride was relaxing with green hills on both sides of the road.
When we arrived, I was shocked by its beautiful view. The village is famous for black bricks, white walls and clear water. A small river runs through the whole village, and the water is so clean that we could see the stones at the bottom. We walked on the old stone paths, and every corner was a nice picture. We visited some traditional Huizhou-style houses with beautiful pictures on the windows and doors. My mom took a lot of photos by the South Lake. The lake and the old houses created a perfect view together.
We also tried local snacks there, like sesame cakes and stinky tofu. They tasted really delicious! The local people were very kind and told us a little about the village’s 900-year history.

16-year-old Freya from London used to love watching bees in her grandma’s garden. But two years ago, she learned that city bees were in great danger. Because of fewer wild flowers and more pollution, the number of city bees was dropping fast. She decided to do something to change it.
At first, she set up 10 beehives (蜂巢) on the top of her school’s building. She asked her science teacher to help her look after the bees. Every weekend, she would go to check the hives, collect the honey and clean the boxes. Later, she started a club called “City Bees” at her school. She taught other students how to look after bees, and how to plant flowers that bees love. She also gave talks to local shop owners, asking them to plant flowers outside their shops, instead of using pesticides (农药) that would hurt the bees.
Her club soon grew. Now, they have over 50 beehives across the whole city, and more than 200 students joined the club. Last year, they collected 500kg of honey, which they sold to local restaurants. The money they made was used to plant more flowers in the city parks.
Freya says, “Many people think bees are only useful for farmers, but they are very important for our city too. If we help bees, we are helping ourselves, because bees help our city become greener and cleaner.”

根据第一段“But two years ago, she learned that city bees were in great danger. Because of fewer wild flowers and more pollution, the number of city bees was dropping fast.”
57.根据第二段“At first, she set up 10 beehives on the top of her school’s building.”
58.根据最后一段Freya说的话“If we help bees, we are helping ourselves, because bees help our city become greener and cleaner.”

Have you ever wondered why you might look or act a bit like your parents? You may have heard the saying “Like father, like son”. This isn’t just because we grow up around our parents and learn from them. A big part is that we carry genes (基因) from them.
Our bodies have around 30,000 genes. These genes are like a set of instructions that make us who we are. We get half of our genes from our mum and half from our dad. They decide things like the color of our hair and eyes, and even how tall we’ll grow.
Genes also play a role in how smart we are. Women have two sets of certain genes related to intelligence, while men have one. This means kids are more likely to get their intelligence from their moms. But remember, being smart isn’t all about genes. What we learn in school, from books, and through experiences is also very important.
Sometimes, genes do not show up in our parents but can show up in us. Take eyelids for example. If both of your parents have double eyelids, but you have single eyelids, it’s because they both carry the single-eyelid genes. When they pass their genes on to you, those single-eyelid genes become active.
In conclusion, genes from our parents are super important. They decide how we look and influence how smart we are. Learning about genes helps us understand why we are similar to our parents in some ways and different in others.
65.Where do we get genes?
66.Who is a child more likely to get his intelligence from?
67.Why might kids have single eyelids if both parents have double eyelids?
68.Please list two similarities and two differences between you and your parents. (at least 30 words)
From our parents. 66.His mom. 67.Because both parents carry the single-eyelid genes, and these genes become active when passed to the kid. 68.Similarities: I have the same eye color as my mom, and we both love reading. Differences: My dad is tall while I am short; he likes sports but I prefer music.
原文指出“We get half of our genes from our mum and half from our dad.”,我们从父母那里获得基因,一半来自母亲,一半来自父亲。
66.原文指出“This means kids are more likely to get their intelligence from their moms.”,孩子的智力更可能来自母亲。
67.原文指出“If both of your parents have double eyelids, but you have single eyelids, it’s because they both carry the single-eyelid genes. When they pass their genes on to you, those single-eyelid genes become active.”,父母都是双眼皮,孩子却可能是单眼皮,是因为父母双方都携带单眼皮基因,这些基因遗传给孩子后被激活了。
VII.
I am sure we will ________ ________ the difficulties.

71.The soft music made me think of my happy childhood.
The soft music ________ me ________ my happy childhood.
【答案】 reminded of
make sb. think of sth.和remind sb. of sth.
72.Has Andrew moved to Paris?
________, he ________.
No hasn’t/has not
故填No;hasn’t。
73.to, business, has been, Guilin, my, on, twice, dad (.)
__________________________________________________
My dad has been to Guilin on business twice.
My dad has been to Guilin on business twice.

Recently, a news story surprised many people: a parent got a collapsed lung (气胸) because of strong anger when helping her child with homework.
A woman in Nanjing was very angry. Her child made the same mistake again and again. After shouting, she felt sharp chest pain and could not breathe well. Doctors said she had a pneumothorax (气胸) (a kind of lung hurt). Experts say strong anger can cause sudden health problems.
This story shows a lose-lose problem (双输问题): Parents try their best to help kids study, but get hurt in body and mind; Kids feel stressed, but make little progress. In fact, there shouldn’t be a winner in this fight. Instead, we need to understand each other.
First, parents should understand kids. Kids have growing pains and ability limits. When they make mistakes, they are already sad. They need a helper to find their mistakes, not a strict person pushing them harder. Giving up the idea of “being perfect right away” is very helpful.
Then, kids should understand parents. Parents’ worry comes from their care and hope for their future. Studying hard is the best way to show we care back. We don’t need full marks—just try our best and take responsibility.
Finally, let’s work together. We hope all parents can be more patient, and all kids a little more self-disciplined (自律的). If we solve problems together, education can go back to its true nature: a warm way to grow and support each other. .
A news story told us that a parent got a collapsed lung because of strong anger when helping her child with homework.

74.lose-lose problem 75.we should try to understand one another 76.to be perfect 77.growing and supporting
74.原文第三段提到“This story shows a lose-lose problem”,简化为lose-lose problem,贴合句意且不照抄原文连续短语。
75.原文第三段指出“Instead, we need to understand each other”,结合后文分点建议,简化为we should try to understand one another,符合要求。

A.Learning only happens in classrooms.
B.Learning is only about remembering facts.

D.Volunteering is the only way to learn.

We left Hongcun in the late afternoon, feeling a little tired but happy. This trip let me feel the beauty of ancient Chinese villages. It’s a great place, and I really want to visit it again someday.

If we solve problems together, education can go back to its true nature: a warm way to grow and support each other. .
