Second, his works talked about common ideas like love, hate and human troubles. That’s why they are translated into many languages. ▲ Before him, traditional plays only told simple moral (道德的) stories, but his works showed people’s true feelings. His new forms of drama set good examples to later playwrights.
On 23rd April, 1616, William Shakespeare passed away at the age of 52. Surprisingly, this day was also his birthday. However, what caused his death still remains a mystery today. 前文出现First、Second分层介绍莎士比亚的两大影响,设空处应为Third引出第三点影响;后文“His new forms of drama set good examples to later playwrights.”表明他改变了西方戏剧,A选项“Third, he changed Western plays a lot.”逻辑匹配。
【26题详解】
根据文中第三段“People still use them today. That’s why they are translated into many languages.”
C
As a ten-year-old kid, I do ordinary things. I eat ice cream. I ride my bike. I play ball. Things like that make me ordinary. But I know ordinary kids don’t make other ordinary kids run away screaming on the sports field. I know ordinary kids don’t get stared at (被盯着看) wherever they go.
If I found a magic lamp and I could make a wish, I would wish that I had a normal face so no one would notice me at all. I would wish that when I could walk down the street, people wouldn’t look at me in a strange way and then walk away quickly. Here’s what I think: the only reason I’m not ordinary is that no one else sees me that way.
But now, I’m kind of used to how I look. I know how to pretend I don’t see the faces people make. We’ve all become pretty good at that kind of thing: me, Mom and Dad, and my sister Via. Actually, I take that back: Via’s not so good at it. She can get really annoyed when people do something rude. Like, for example, one time on the sports field, some older kids made some noises. I don’t even know what exactly the noises meant, but Via heard them and she just started shouting at the kids angrily. That’s the way she is. I’m not that way.
Via doesn’t see me as ordinary. She says she does, but if it’s true, she wouldn’t need to protect me so much. And Mom and Dad don’t see me as ordinary, either. They see me as extraordinary (非凡的). I think the only person in the world who realizes how ordinary I am is me.
My name is August, by the way. I won’t describe what I look like. Whatever you’re thinking, it’s probably worse.
—Adapted from Wonder
28. According to August, what ordinary things will an ordinary kid do?
A. Make other kids run away screaming. B. Eat ice cream and ride a bike.
C. Get stared at wherever he goes. D. Play unpleasant jokes on others.
29. According to the passage, which of the following is TRUE?
A. There are 5 people in August’s family.
B. August’s sister Via doesn’t treat him nicely.
C. August’s face is probably worse than people can imagine.
D. August has a magic lamp and he can use it to make wishes.
30. Which of the following situations can most probably make you feel annoyed?
A. Your pet has died because of an illness.
B. You have got good grades in the final exam.
C. Your friend has told your hidden secret to others.
D. You have received a gift you really wanted for long.
31. What can we infer from the passage?
A. August is not popular in school at all.
B. August’s parents think that he is extraordinary.
C. August is confident about his own appearance.
D. August believes he is ordinary, but others don’t think so.
【答案】28. B 29. C 30. C 31. D
【解析】
【导语】本文是一篇记叙文,讲述面部有缺陷的男孩August的自述。他觉得自己很普通,但别人(包括家人和同学)都不这样看他,他对此有自己的感受和看法。
【28题详解】
根据第一段“As a ten-year-old kid, I do ordinary things. I eat ice cream. I ride my bike. I play ball. Things like that make me ordinary.”
选项A说家里有5口人,但文中提到“me, Mom and Dad, and my sister Via”共4人;选项B说Via对他不好,但文中Via会保护他、为他生气,说明对他好;选项D说他真有魔法灯,但文中是“If I found…”
倒数第二段August说“I think the only person in the world who realizes how ordinary I am is me.”(我觉得全世界只有我自己意识到我很普通),说明他认为自己普通,但别人不这么认为,与选项D表述一致。
D
①Do you think plants are boring? Think again. They may not run or jump, but they can also do something amazing. In fact, they are much smarter than you expect.
②Scientists have already found that plants change as the environment changes. For example, when the sun shines, they grow toward sunlight; when insects get closer, they give out chemicals (化学物质) to stop insects from eating them. But can they learn from past experiences? To find out the answer, Gagliano did two experiments (实验).
③First, she tested a plant called mimosa (含羞草). Mimosa has a special skill: it quickly closes its leaves when people touch it. Gagliano wanted to know if mimosa could learn to stop closing when nothing dangerous happened. Gagliano dropped the mimosa many times without hurting it. At first, it closed leaves every time. But after falling several times, it stopped closing. Even a month later, it still did not close. This showed that mimosa can learn and remember.
④Next, Gagliano did a more surprising test with pea plants. Pea plants need sunlight to make food, so they grow toward light. Gagliano wanted to see if they could learn to connect a breeze,(微风)with light.
⑤On Day 1, Gagliano only turned on a fan,(风扇). The plants did not grow toward the breeze. So the breeze meant nothing to them. Then she started training. From Day 2 to Day 5, she shone a light on the plants and turned on the fan from the same direction. The light and the breeze came together. On Day 6, she took away the light and only used the fan. Without any light, most pea plants still grew toward the breeze. Pea plants learned to connect the breeze with light—and light means food.
⑥“Plants do learn from past experiences. How clever they are!” Gagliano said. She hopes the findings of her experiments can inspire more scientists to pay more attention to these little plants. After all, “We should not always look at our own way as the only one.”
32. How does the writer start the passage?
A. By telling a story. B. By asking a question.
C. By listing some numbers. D. By comparing the experiments.
33. Which of the following is NOT a finding of Gagliano’s two experiments?
A. Pea plants can connect breeze with light.
B. Plants can learn from the past experiences.
C. Plants change as the environment changes.
D. Mimosa won’t close its leaves after falling several times.
34. How does Gagliano carry out the pea plant experiment?
A. B.
C. D.
35. Which of the following shows the structure of the passage?
A. B.
C. D.
【答案】32. B 33. C 34. B 35. A

(I: Interviewer D: Director)
Olive (橄榄)
When you first bite an olive, it tastes bitter (苦的) and sour. But if you keep chewing (咀嚼), a sweet taste comes back. At the end of the movie, Grandma Shurou fed an olive to Nanzhi and said, “Bitter first, sweet later.”
Salted pork
To look after Shurou’s family, Nanzhi made salted pork by herself and sent it to Shurou every year. When they finally met again, even though Nanzhi had lost her memory, she still asked “Did you receive the salted pork? If it’s good, I’ll send more.” What she said carries eighteen years of hidden care.
I: The olive vegetables (橄榄菜) appear in the movie many times. What’s the meaning of this setting?
D: For Chaoshan people, olive vegetables are not just a side dish (配菜) for porridge. Actually, they run through a person’s whole life. It takes many steps to make olive vegetables. You need to pick olives from the trees, wash, steam and fry them. These concrete (具体的) things take much time, so they can stop Shurou from thinking too much. Even when she heard the news of her husband’s death, she only said softly, “I’ll go and check if olive vegetables have gone cold.”
I: I see. I remember when my grandpa passed away, my grandma sat beside the window and knitted (编织) something every day. I didn’t understand her at that time, but now I know why.
D: Exactly. You see, people in this fast-growing world today really need simple physical work, doing concrete things, I mean. It will help them calm down when they feel stressed or worried. What’s more, people will feel more confident since they can kind of keep those concrete things under “control”.
41. Do olives always taste the same if you keep chewing them?

Open your mouth, and out comes “bao de”, “na za le”. Try to write an essay; all you can think of is “yyds” and “jue jue zi”. These memes, or “geng”, from social media are pouring into students’ daily lives, and this causes the overuse of them.
Why do students overuse memes? On the one hand, they are everywhere—on short videos, bullet screens (弹幕), and social media, so it’s hard for us to keep away from them. On the other hand, using popular memes makes you feel that you belong to a group. If you don’t know the newest ones, you might feel left out (被孤立).
However, not all the memes are meaningful. The overuse of those low-quality ones, known as lame memes (烂梗), will lead to problems.
Overusing these lame memes will make it difficult for you to use beautiful expressions. When enjoying the amazing sunset, you can only say “jue jue zi”; when feeling sad, the only expression that comes to your mind is “emo le”. However, this kind of poor expressions is not even the worst. Sometimes, these lame memes can do harm to others mentally. For example, when someone makes a silly mistake, you will hear “tang” at once. You might not consider it as a big deal, but it is really hurtful to people with that illness.
To avoid overusing lame memes, you should focus on reading more classics. Also, don’t spread lame memes anymore. Instead, try your best to share as many beautiful expressions as possible in your daily life.
Remember, your words have power. Use them well.
The passage is mainly about ____63____ overusing memes, the problems in overusing lame ones and the tips on avoiding using them. It’s difficult for students to stay away from memes. On the one hand, their lives are ____64____ memes. On the other hand, using popular ones gives them a sense of belonging. But if students overuse those lame memes, they will ____65____ wonderful expressions. Besides, lame memes like “tang” do harm to the sick people. To solve the problem, ____66____ instead of spreading lame memes. Words have power.
【答案】63.
the reasons for
64.
full of##filled with
65.
have difficulty using
66.
share beautiful expressions
【解析】
【导语】本文是一篇说明文,主要讲述了学生过度使用网络梗的现象、原因、烂梗带来的问题以及避免使用的建议。
【63题详解】
根据文章第2段“Why do students overuse memes?”可知,该段主要阐述了学生过度使用梗的原因。结合概要中后文的“the problems... and the tips...”的并列结构,此处应填原因。故填the reasons for。
【64题详解】
根据文章第2段“On the one hand, they are everywhere”可推知,学生的生活中充满了梗。此处是固定词组be full of/be filled with“充满……”。故填full of/filled with。
【65题详解】
根据文章第4段“overusing these lame memes will make it difficult for you to use beautiful expressions”可推知,学生将难以使用美妙的表达。此处使用固定词组:have difficulty (in) doing sth“在做某事方面困难”,will后跟动词原形。故填have difficulty using。
【66题详解】
根据文章第5段“Instead, try your best to share as many beautiful expressions as possible in your daily life”可推知,解决方法是分享优美表达而不是传播烂梗。此处可以用祈使句,以动词原形开头。故填share beautiful expressions。

“To be or not to be, that is the question.” You may know this line comes from Hamlet, but you might not know it was written by William Shakespeare, one of the greatest English writers in history.
Shakespeare was born (出生) in 1564 in England. His family once lived a comfortable life, but later his father’s business failed. He had to leave school and make a living on his own. He moved to London and worked as a playwright for nearly 30 years. During this time, he created many world-famous works, including the four great comedies (喜剧) and four great tragedies (悲剧). Hamlet is among the four great tragedies.
Shakespeare has a great influence on English language. First, he created more than 300 new words and many useful classic expressions. People still use them today.
Each year around the 23rd April, the streets of Stratford-upon-Avon are always filled with music, songs and performers to remember the life of William Shakespeare.

C. D.

In China, many regional (地区的) foods carry special meanings. For example, Chongqing hot pot means reunion and warmth. In the recent popular movie Dear You, audiences get a chance to learn about Chaoshan food and the true meaning of “loyalty and care” (情义) in Chaoshan culture.
Foods in the Movie
An Interview with the Director
