B Near Vihaan and Nav Agarwal’s home, a big garbage dump (垃圾场) caved in, releasing poisonous chemicals into the surrounding streets, which caused a fire to erupt. Following this event, Vihaan and Nav decided to take action to improve their city’s waste collection to ultimately improve their own health and that of their neighbors. Vihaan struggled with a persistent cough and shortness of breath. He knew his symptoms would not likely improve until his local community improved its waste management solutions. In 2018, at ages 14 and 11, respectively, the brothers created a home recycling program called One Step Greener that managed recycling for 15 households within their community. Their goal: prevent toxic chemical waste from seeping (渗透) into the environment and creating dangerous health conditions for residents. At first, the boys felt empowered by taking the action of separating waste into distinct categories. When local officials then informed them that the local garbage collection crew would not pick up their separated bags, they felt momentarily defeated, but persisted in their efforts. The boys then created a neighborhood coalition to create a unified recycling program, which 15 households took part in. Local authorities adjusted their stance, and the recycling program spread throughout the community with a growing number of households starting to participate. “The main issue in waste management is that everybody thinks it’s not their job, or if the waste is out of their house, it’s out of their mind,” Vihaan said. Vihaan and Nav’s program grew from managing 15 households to 3,000 throughout 14 Indian cities. The program offers families involved free door-to-door dry waste pickups. The separated waste is then delivered to warehouses where it is further divided to ensure proper recycling. Newspapers are separated from A4 printing paper, PET plastic from polypropylene, and computer screens from keyboards. One Step Greener’s goal reads, “One Step Greener’s mission is to transform environmental action into everyday practice by mobilizing youth, building green communities, and designing scalable solutions in waste management, afforestation, and education—starting at the grassroots, and growing toward systems change.” “It’s an old saying, but collective effort does actually make a difference,” said Vihaan. 24. What inspired Vihaan and Nav to start One Step Greener? A. The locals’ waste collection failure. B. A project on waste management. C. A landfill collapse near their home. D. The city’s campaign for recycling. 25. What was local authorities’ attitude to the program after the neighborhood’s participation? A. Unclear. B. Doubtful. C. Dismissive. D. Approving. 26. What did One Step Greener do for the participating households? A. It picked up dry waste for free. B. It educated them online about recycling. C. It delivered newspapers to them. D. It paid them for their recyclable materials. 27. What does Vihaan and Nav’s program show? A. Better late than never. B. Teamwork makes the dream work. C. Knowledge is power. D. Actions speak louder than words. C Scientists have taken to the salon (美发厅) after realising hairdressers may be an “under-recognised” force in fueling climate action. Alongside their craft, hairdressers are known for their conversation skills, who often act as an agony aunt, adviser and friend rolled into one. New research from the University of Bath’s Centre for Climate Change and Social Transformation (CAST) reveals this is what makes hair salons centers of trust that could be used to encourage conversations around climate change. The research team interviewed 30 UK salon owners about sustainability, and then ran a nationwide intervention in 25 sustainable salons using Mirror Talkers, where eco-tips are placed on salon mirrors to engender discussions on sustainable haircare practices. “The carbon footprint of shampoo (洗发水) is mostly in the hot water used,” says Denise Baden of the University of Southampton. “Simple messages like ‘most of us use too much shampoo and shampoo too often’ can spark conversations about how shampooing less and at lower temperatures saves time, money, energy, water and is better for your skin and hair.” The study found nearly 73% of salon clients were likely to change their haircare routines after conversations sparked by the Mirror Talkers, some even switching to eco-friendly products, using cooler water, and adopting greener habits at home.   Researchers say this demonstrates how hairdressers have an “untapped ability” to weave climate change into everyday conversations and actions. They are now urging policymakers to roll out tools like Mirror Talkers nationally. “If we’re serious about building a public movement for climate action, then it’s time to invest in these unsung influencers because real change starts in everyday conversations,” says Dr Sam Hampton of CAST. Matilda Collins, a senior director and stylist, says the Mirror Talkers initiative could gain positive outcomes if the experience “feels natural and engages clients without being overly virtuous”. She adds, “Ultimately, the trust a stylist builds with the client is what will drive potential positive changes in behaviour. It could be a great education platform and a conversation starter, however.” 28. What does the underlined word “engender” in paragraph 2 mean? A. Stimulate.       B. Maintain.       C. Simplify.       D. Control. 29. What is the focus of the third paragraph? A. The importance of saving water.       B. The harm of overusing shampoo. C. The function of eco-tips in salons.       D. The strategy of starting conversations. 30. What can we infer from Dr Sam Hampton’s words? A. Sound policies encourage investment. B. Daily conversations can make a difference. C. Unsung influencers need professional training. D. Mirror Talkers has gained nationwide popularity. 31. Which of the following can be a suitable title for the text? A. Salons: Overlooked Centers to Build Trust B. Haircare: A Hidden Source of Carbon Footprint C. Mirror Talkers: A Platform to Show Fashion Trends D. Hairdressers: Secret Weapons Against Climate Change D Berries of all kinds are a delicious and healthy part of any diet. Now, researchers in Finland have shown that these fruits are more than just a tasty treat. A spray (喷雾) made of berry extract has been found to prevent deadly bacteria in wounds. According to a press release from VTT Research in Finland, antibiotic (抗生素的) resistant bacteria are one of the ten greatest world health challenges of our time. This type of bacteria can cause wound infections that are very difficult to treat. But now a solution may have been found. VTT Research found a way to use the antimicrobial properties of berries to make a spray that kills deadly bacteria without harming the useful microbes (微生物) that live on the human skin. This could avoid those very dangerous wound antibiotic resistant infections, and make it possible to use fewer antibiotics while treating a patient. “The product could easily be used in hospitals as, say, a liquid to spray on the skin before surgery,” Panu Lahtinen, Associate Professor and Senior Advisor at VTT said in the press release. VTT has been researching the antimicrobial properties of berries for over two decades. While the data has not yet been published, the researchers found that wild berry seeds of all kinds are naturally coated with antimicrobial compounds. This helps prevent the growth of molds or other diseases before the fruit can shoot up. “Our research has identified antimicrobial compounds in several wild berries,” Panu told Good News Finland. The researchers developed a way to extract the useful compounds from berry cakes, a byproduct of juice making that contains berry seeds and skins. A nanocellulose (纳米纤维) film that is friendly to human skin is bathed in the berry compound extracted from the berry cake. This makes their spray entirely bio-based. What is remarkable is that VTT found a way to use the power of their local natural surroundings — wild raspberries grow abundantly in Finland — to help humanity, all while also partaking in a circular economy by using organic matter that would otherwise be considered a waste product. As the threat of antibiotic resistant bacteria grows, it is good to know that the solution may be something so simple as a berry. 32. Which statement best describes the benefit of using berry spray? A. It promotes faster surgical recovery. B. It can reduce the number of surgeries. C. It can free patients of pain in surgeries. D. It reduces reliance on antibiotics in treatment. 33. How is the product made? A. Making berries into berry cakes. B. Making berry compounds hard enough. C. Preventing aimed berries from getting effected. D. Having berry compounds on nanocellulose material. 34. What is one most important fact about this product? A. Benefiting local people’s health.          B. Protecting patients’ skin before surgery. C. Promoting sustainable development.        D. Increasing the products of natural berries. 35. What can be the best title of the text? A. Berry Spray Fights Bacteria.              B. Berries: A New Tasty Treat. C. Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria.             D. Wild Berries Prove Powerful. What is a dream? Many of us can imagine a different existence than we currently have. It is as simple as letting your mind wander for a moment. Yet, it takes more than a few seconds for a real dream to come true.    36    Will, knowledge, and emotions matter. In dreaming, we must establish a balance between these three areas of our lives.    37    It doesn’t take long to realize what they want to do. The question of “what if” is one that people enjoy. To set your path toward making that happen gets complicated because of those other two areas: knowledge and emotion. A lack of knowledge is a hard issue to overcome. Many of us don’t want to study. So they keep repeating others’ paths. Most of the paths we can imagine have been done before. If you are to see your dream realized, then you will have to get some schooling or guidance.    38    You may have a degree this path wasn’t for you. Yet they still take the job. Your knowledge and success have trapped you.    39    This is their main obstacle. They can’t seem to manage them. This becomes their limitation. They ride the wave of how they feel today and never press through their current distress to build up any progress. They start and stop all through the course of their life. So what happens when we are led by our emotions? We contain our will.    40    Until we can get the knowledge we need and the emotional stability we need, we are stuck in a repeated experience of starting and stopping over and again. A. So, how do you sustain a dream? B. It gets covered up with other worries. C. Will is generally not a dreamer’s problem. D. But this is where the real challenge begins. E. On the other hand, knowledge can work against you. F. You may have invested years, but this path is not for you. G. An even larger number of people struggle with their emotions. We were three days into a 27-day journey through eastern Nepal’s forests, walking through low clouds and constant rain. “Are we on the right path?” I asked my guide Raj. One of his regular clients was a businessman who hired him as a personal driver during work trips. As they got to know each other better over time, their conversations naturally extended beyond work to personal matters like family and children. The businessman learned that Cuenca’s family was not well-off and had two children in school, so he always gave the father some extra cash at the end of each ride. At that time, Cuenca was in her first year of college and was applying as a transfer student to Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, which she had wanted to attend since high school. But finances were tight for Cuenca and her family, and she wasn’t sure how she was going to cover the $ 50 required for the application fee. “Fifty dollars was a lot of money for a college student back in 1997. And unfortunately, at that point, we really couldn’t afford the money. My wife and I were both from working-class backgrounds,” Cuenca’s father said. During a routine drive, Cuenca’s father received a call from her. She told him she had decided to give up on the application, urging him not to worry about the money anymore. Cuenca’s father then drove silently, replaying his daughter’s words in his mind. The businessman noticed his distress (忧虑) and pressed him until he finally told the story. The businessman listened quietly, leaning back in his seat, his expression softening. “Your daughter sounds like someone who works hard for what she wants,” he said quietly. When the ride ended, the businessman gave him the extra cash as usual, but it was much more—a $ 50 bill. Meanwhile, he said something that Cuenca’s father would never forget. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ Cuenca used the businessman’s gift to submit her application that night. 21-23 ACD24—27. During the event, our school organized diverse activities. We participated in book-sharing sessions, where we exchanged favorite reads and discussed inspiring passages. We also launched a “Reading Marathon”, challenging everyone to finish at least one book within the week—many even read three or four! The response was overwhelming! We actively participated, most of whom felt more motivated to read regularly, with some calling reading “life-changing”. Yours, Li Hua 第二节(满分25分) One possible version: Meanwhile, he said something that Cuenca’s father would never forget. “It is a gift for your daughter. Tell her that sometimes the world meets her halfway when she dares to walk toward her dream. Someday, when she’s able, I hope she’ll pay it forward. Let this be her first step to Georgetown.” Cuenca’s father drove home with the bill, a tangible warmth replacing the earlier worry. When he told Cuenca what had happened, tears welled up in her eyes. Her long-held dream was about to come true. Cuenca used the businessman’s gift to submit her application that night. What followed were weeks of anxious waiting. Then, on the day when the thick acceptance letter from Georgetown arrived, Cuenca felt a surge of overwhelming gratitude toward the stranger whose generosity had made it possible. Thinking of the businessman’s gift and words, she made a promise to herself silently, “I’ll help someone the way he helped me.” The businessman’s gesture had ignited not just a dream, but also a lifelong commitment to paying kindness forward. Text 1 W: Sandy’s birthday is on June 25th. What shall we plan for the party? M: A party on Monday? Why not have it on weekend? Like a day before it? M: That makes sense! Text 2 M: Both of us can sing. I can play the guitar, and you can play the drums. We may start a band. W: Sounds great, but we’d still need some who can sing well. Do you know anyone? M: Maybe we can ask around at our school. Text 3 M: Are you going to the finals of the badminton championship tonight? W: Oh no, I totally forgot it and I planned to go to the cinema. M: But our friend Tina, from gymnastics team, is playing. She’ll be upset if you don’t show up. W: Absolutely. I’ll change my ticket for another night. Text 4 W: Excuse me. I’ve been waiting here for an hour. I have a dentist appointment at nine o’clock. M: Sorry for keeping you waiting. How can I help? W: I got this letter saying that my electricity bill hasn’t been paid, but I paid it online last week. Text 5 W: Do you want to go to the new shopping center? M: I don’t know. I was thinking of going to the Amusement Park. W: Come on! You’ve been on all the rides a thousand times! M: Well, well. Why don’t you go shopping and I’ll meet you afterwards for lunch. Text 6 M: Vera, have you finished making the cake for our client’s party? She asked that it be ready by Thursday. W: I have it right here! I got it from the bakery this morning. M: Great! Let me see. This seems a lot smaller than what she requested. I think she wanted it two inches bigger. W: Oh, no! I must’ve given the wrong size. I’ll call the bakery this afternoon and ask them to remake it. But with such a tight deadline, we might have to pay extra for rush baking and delivery. Text 7 W: So I know you’re dying to tell me … how’s your pet dog? M: To tell you the truth, I’m beginning to think I should have waited a bit longer. I may have made a mistake and rushed into buying it. I just imagined it there in my apartment and had to have it. W: Why do you think so? M: It’s just that I’ve spent everything I had on it. I could’ve just adopted a rescue dog or waited until I moved to a bigger place. If it makes a mess or needs professional cleaning any time soon, I don’t know how I’ll be able to handle it. Text 8 W: Hello, Mr. Davis. Welcome to EcoSort Services. When I heard that a representative from the Riverside City Council wanted to meet, I was very excited. M: Well, we know your company helps cities set up their waste sorting programs, and Riverside wants to set one up, too. W: That’s great news! What are your goals for your program? M: We want to encourage our residents to recycle more as well as to reduce landfill waste. But it’s going to be a challenge convincing people to participate. W: We’ll handle that. When cities partner with us, part of the service we provide is an education campaign. We’ll produce television and radio commercials that will encourage community members to sort their waste properly. Text 9 W: Hey, David! Are you coming to the science fair project? M: Yeah, I read the school notice board post about it. This year, the teachers have planned something really creative, including a robot building task and a presentation contest. W: I can’t wait! How many people are in a group? M: Five. It’s not just about building; there’s also a research part that requires us to explain our work to the judges. It’ll really test our teamwork, communication, and technical skills. W: Perfect. What about the time limit? M: Each group has to finish the robot and prepare the presentation within three hours. The challenge is to be efficient in both building and explaining. W: Is there a prize for winning it? M: Definitely. The group that finishes the task and gives the best presentation in the shortest time gets awards. This year, they’re giving away science books. W: I love it! Why don’t we invite three more in our class to join us? We can plan and combine our technical skills with our speaking abilities. M: Great idea! Text 10 M: Lack of sleep and too much screen time have become serious concerns among high school students. Research shows that over 60% of students get fewer than six hours of sleep on school nights, and nearly 75% spend more than four hours daily on electronic devices. Consequently, four in ten students report difficulty concentrating in class, while only one in ten who maintain regular sleep schedules face such problems. A team analyzed 8,000 students nationwide regarding their sleep patterns and academic performance. Participants from coastal cities with later school start times were found to sleep significantly longer. These students also demonstrated higher test scores and lower rates of anxiety disorders. The study concluded that a consistent sleep schedule of seven to eight hours, limiting device use before bed, and short afternoon breaks are essential for cognitive function. Students who reduce screen time by two hours daily and replace it with reading or light exercise show marked improvement in memory retention. Those who establish a fixed bedtime routine experience less tiredness and fewer mood swings. Overall, enough sleep not only boosts academic performance but also supports emotional well-being. 【解析】 A 21.A。 But what attracts the visitors most? The Beatles Story The Beatles Story is more than a museum; it's a holy site for music enthusiasts信息可知,去该馆对于乐迷们来说就是一种“朝圣之旅”故选C。 23. D。 根据 The National Railway Museum 部分中 The dynamic exhibits and interactive displays make it a family-friendly destination 信息知。 B 24—27. 根据第一段中“Near Vihaan and Nav Agarwal’s home, a big garbage dump caved in, releasing poisonous chemicals into the surrounding streets, which caused a fire to erupt. 根据第五段中“Local authorities adjusted their stance, and the recycling program spread throughout the community with a growing number of households starting to participate. 根据第七段中“The program offers families involved free door-to-door dry waste pickups. 根据倒数第二段中“One Step Greener’s goal reads, “One Step Greener’s mission is to transform environmental action into everyday practice by mobilizing youth, building green communities, and designing scalable solutions in waste management, afforestation, and education—starting at the grassroots, and growing toward systems change.”(“一步变绿”的目标宣言写道:“‘一步变绿’的使命是通过动员青年、建设绿色社区以及在废物管理、植树造林和教育领域设计可扩展的解决方案,将环保行动转化为日常实践——从基层做起,逐步推动系统变革。”)”以及最后一段““It’s an old saying, but collective effort does actually make a difference,” said Vihaan.(维汉表示:“这是一句老话,但集体的努力确实能带来改变。”)” 根据划线词所在句“where eco-tips are placed on salon mirrors to engender discussions on sustainable haircare practices (将环保小贴士贴在美发厅镜子上,以engender关于可持续护发实践的讨论)”和下文第三段中“Simple messages... can spark conversations about how shampooing less and at lower temperatures saves time, money, energy, water and is better for your skin and hair. 根据第三段““The carbon footprint of shampoo (洗发水) is mostly in the hot water used,” says Denise Baden of the University of Southampton. “Simple messages like ‘most of us use too much shampoo and shampoo too often’ can spark conversations about how shampooing less and at lower temperatures saves time, money, energy, water and is better for your skin and hair.” 根据第五段中Sam Hampton的话“If we’re serious about building a public movement for climate action, then it’s time to invest in these unsung influencers because real change starts in everyday conversations (如果我们真的想发起一场公众参与的气候行动运动,那么现在就该投资于这些默默无闻的影响者,因为真正的改变始于日常的对话)”可知,Sam Hampton博士认为日常对话可以产生影响。 通读全文,结合第一段“Scientists have taken to the salon (美发厅) after realising hairdressers may be an “under-recognised” force in fueling climate action. (科学家们开始关注美发厅,因为他们意识到理发师可能是推动气候行动的一支“未被充分认识”的力量)”以及第五段“Researchers say this demonstrates how hairdressers have an “untapped ability” to weave climate change into everyday conversations and actions. 解题依据:定位第三段首句 "This could avoid those very dangerous wound antibiotic resistant infections, and make it possible to use fewer antibiotics while treating a patient.",可知浆果喷雾能够减少治疗过程中抗生素的使用量,降低对抗生素的依赖。 解题依据:定位第五段 "A nanocellulose film that is friendly to human skin is bathed in the berry compound extracted from the berry cake.",可知产品的制作原理是将对皮肤友好的纳米纤维素膜浸泡在浆果提取物中,即把浆果活性成分负载在纳米纤维材料上。 解题依据:定位最后一段 "all while also partaking in a circular economy by using organic matter that would otherwise be considered a waste product",该产品利用本会被丢弃的浆果渣作为原料,实现了资源循环利用,这是其最具价值的深层特点,即推动可持续发展。 七选五 36.A。 D项But... 37.C。前句提出三要素框架,本句聚焦will展开,指出“will通常不是问题”,后句“It doesn’t take long..” It指代“realize what they want" 38.E。前句强调“需要学习”,本句以On the other hand转折,提出“知识也可能反噬”后句“degree...wasn't for you”为具体例证。 39.G。本句为段主题句,以"even larger number" 递进,从 knowledge过渡到emotions,后句This明确指代“struggle with emotions”,衔接紧密。 40.B。前句"contain our will"(抑制意志),本句"it gets covered up"(被掩盖)解释其结果,It指代will,与后句“stuck in....” 选项辨析:sighed(叹气)、hesitated(犹豫)、complained(抱怨)均与 “确定” 的语气矛盾。 选项辨析:fastened(系紧)、wore(穿上)与光脚矛盾;washed(清洗)不符合语境逻辑。 选项辨析:blessing(幸事)、surprise(惊喜)带有积极意外的含义,不符合艰难涉水的语境;discovery(发现)与文意无关。 选项辨析:shook(摇)、hung(低垂)、lifted(抬起)均无法构成该固定搭配,无法体现 “笑得后仰” 的生动感。 When things get tough, they make the best of it and keep walking 选项辨析:critical(批判的)、cautious(谨慎的)、curious(好奇的)均不符合 “苦中作乐” 的特质。 选项辨析:welcoming(宜人的)与后文描述相反;peaceful(宁静的)、mysterious(神秘的)无法概括恶劣的生存条件。 选项辨析:scares(吓跑)、concerns(使担忧)与逻辑相反;pushes(推动)不符合 “美景吸引游客” 的语义。 选项辨析:passed(经过)与 “远处” 的空间逻辑不符;constructed(建造)、imagined(想象)不符合徒步偶遇的语境。 选项辨析:fighting(打斗)、cleaning(打扫)、ignoring(忽视)均不符合茶屋的生活场景。 选项辨析:markets(市场)、milestones(里程碑)、barriers(障碍)均不符合茶屋的功能定位。 选项辨析:satisfaction(满足)、freedom(自由)、excitement(兴奋)均无法对应后文 “跨语言长谈” 的核心内容。 选项辨析:in terms of(就… 而言)、on account of(因为)、in line with(与… 54答案:A 考点:动词固定句型 解题依据:It strikes sb that... 选项辨析:bothered(困扰)、shocked(使震惊)、puzzled(使困惑)均不符合该句型与 “突然感悟” 的语境。 选项辨析:courage(勇气)、tools(工具)、souvenirs(纪念品)均不是当地家庭提供的核心内容。 65答案:but 考点:连词与固定搭配 解析:not only...but (also)... 第四部分 写作(共两节,满分40分) 第一节(满分15分) One possible version: Dear Jack, I’m excited to share that our school held a reading event themed “Books Fill the Campus, Reading Opens the World” last week, which aimed to inspire a love for reading among students. I’m excited to share that our school held a reading event themed “Books Fill the Campus, Reading Opens the World” last week, which aimed to inspire a love for reading among students. I’m excited to share with you good news that our school held a reading event themed “Books Fill the Campus, Reading Opens the World” last week, which aimed to inspire a love for reading among students. 1】We participated in book-sharing sessions, where we exchanged favorite reads and discussed inspiring passages. 词汇激活 行为类 ①讲述,告知:tell/inform ②许诺:make a promise/pledge 情绪类 ①担忧:worry/anxiety/concern ②焦急的:anxious/nervous/worried 【点睛】【高分句型1】Tell her that sometimes the world meets her halfway when she dares to walk toward her dream. The project aims to turn environmental protection into a ________ (collect) practice. The new product is made from natural plant ________ (extract). He managed to complete the journey despite his ________ (distressed). The event promotes cultural ________ (exchange) between different cities. 「苏格兰背景」是客观属性,但最吸引游客的是古宅沉浸式的观展环境(each room unfolds a different chapter),即宜人的展陈设置,A 项更贴合「what attracts visitors most」的设问。 What do the four museums have in common? A. They are all located in historic buildings. B. They all focus on British cultural themes. C. They all suit family visits with kids. D. They all feature hands-on experiences. One Step Greener’s mission is to transform environmental action into everyday practice by mobilizing youth, building green communities, and designing scalable solutions in waste management, afforestation, and education—starting at the grassroots, and growing toward systems change. 注意题干限定「after the neighborhood’s participation」,不能答初期态度。 文章结尾点明 collective effort makes a difference,核心是集体协作,对应「Teamwork makes the dream work」。 New research from the University of Bath’s Centre for Climate Change and Social Transformation (CAST) reveals this is what makes hair salons centers of trust that could be used to encourage conversations around climate change. New research reveals... ② this is what... 核心考点突破 固定搭配题(必拿分) 第 44 题 throw one’s head back in laughter 仰头大笑,固定动作搭配 第 54 题 It strikes sb that... 3. 读后续写素材积累 环境描写佳句 walking through low clouds and constant rain a waterfall blocked our way, icy water rushing through the valley as the downpour drummed against the roof 主旨升华句 It struck me how much the journey had depended on the local families, who offered guidance and warmth, making every step possible. 此处是 not only...but (also) 固定搭配,前面有 not only,后面对应 but。 3. The exhibition, ________ (hold) last month, attracted thousands of visitors. With all the work ________ (finish), he left the office happily. While ________ (walk) along the street, she met an old friend. Not only the students but also their teacher ________ (enjoy) the performance. 固定搭配优先记,尤其是 not only...but also、with 复合结构等高频考点。 基础版→高分版 升级范文 基础版(要点齐全,表达平淡) Dear Jack, I’m excited to share that our school held a reading event themed “Books Fill the Campus, Reading Opens the World” last week, which aimed to inspire a love for reading among students. Yours, Li Hua 高分版(句式多样,衔接自然,词汇升级) Dear Jack, I’m thrilled to share with you a fantastic reading event our school launched last week, themed “Books Fill the Campus, Reading Opens the World”, to foster a campus-wide reading culture. A variety of well-designed activities were on offer. We attended interactive book-sharing sessions, where we swapped our favorite works and dived into lively discussions about the most touching parts. What’s more, a “Reading Marathon” challenge was held, encouraging every student to finish at least one book within the week. Quite a few devoured three to four books throughout the week. The event turned out a huge success. Not only did it fuel our passion for reading, but it also inspired many students to make reading a daily routine. Some even remarked that reading had opened a brand-new world to them. Would you have similar reading activities in your school? Looking forward to your reply. Yours, Li Hua 2. 读书主题高分表达库 活动举办:launch /hold/organize /host 激发热情:foster a love for reading /fuel one’s passion for reading /inspire enthusiasm for reading 活动形式:book-sharing sessions 读书分享会;reading marathon 阅读马拉松;classic recitation 经典诵读; book exchange 图书交换 活动反响:a huge success /overwhelming response /widely praised 第二节 读后续写:善意的传递 1. 高分升级范文(强化细节 + 情感张力) Meanwhile, he said something that Cuenca’s father would never forget. Leaning forward slightly, his voice warm and firm, he said, “Please pass this on to your daughter. Tell her that when a person is brave enough to walk toward her dream, the world will often meet her halfway. And someday, when she has the chance, I hope she will pass this kindness on to someone else. Consider this her first step toward Georgetown.” Cuenca’s father sat in silence for a moment after the businessman left, the $50 bill folded carefully in his palm. A wave of warmth washed over him, driving away all the previous frustration. When he got home and told Cuenca everything, tears of gratitude welled up in her eyes, and her long-cherished dream, which she had thought was out of reach, suddenly felt within reach. Cuenca used the businessman’s gift to submit her application that night. With every click of the mouse, she felt her heart beating fast, a mix of excitement and gratitude filling her chest. The weeks that followed were filled with anxious waiting. Every time the mailman passed by, she would rush to the door. Then one afternoon, a thick envelope with Georgetown’s logo arrived. She tore it open with trembling hands — she was admitted. Holding the acceptance letter, Cuenca thought of the kind businessman, his words echoing in her mind. She made a silent promise to herself: she would study hard, and one day, she would extend a helping hand to someone in need, just as the stranger had done for her. That small act of kindness had not only lit up her dream, but also planted a seed of generosity in her heart, which would grow and spread for years to come. 2. 善意主题素材积累 动作描写 fold the bill carefully in his palm 把钞票小心折好放在掌心 tears of gratitude welled up in her eyes 感激的泪水涌上眼眶 tear the envelope open with trembling hands 用颤抖的手撕开信封 extend a helping hand to sb 向某人伸出援手 心理描写 a wave of warmth washed over him 一股暖流涌上心头 her long-cherished dream felt within reach 她珍藏已久的梦想触手可及 a mix of excitement and gratitude filled her chest 心中交织着激动与感激 主题金句 A single act of kindness can light up someone’s whole world and plant a seed that grows for a lifetime. Kindness is not a one-way street; it passes from one person to another, creating a warm cycle that touches more lives than we can imagine. Sometimes all it takes to change a life is a small, generous gesture from a stranger. 有毒的 ② s________ n. 可持续性 ③ r________ adj. 有抵抗力的 ④ s________ v. 维持;保持 ⑤ i________ n. 短语汉译英 ① 集体努力 — collective effort ② 碳足迹 — carbon footprint ③ 循环经济 — circular economy ④ 充分利用;坦然面对 — make the best of ⑤ 非物质文化遗产 — intangible cultural heritage 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
