Sending medical help to hard-to-reach places has been a problem for years. In Rwanda, some small hospitals don’t have enough medicine. As a result, many people die. A local company is trying to use drones to solve this problem. Drones can quickly provide healthcare service to the hospitals around Rwanda, and more people receive life-saving medicine. Drones also help after natural disasters. In 2015, a heavy storm hit Vanuatu, leaving many people homeless. Drones took pictures for the rescue (救援) teams. This helped the teams judge the situation quickly and offer help to the areas that were hardest hit. Drones are also helping environmental organizations. Every year, poachers (偷猎者) kill many endangered animals. To stop them, the WWF uses drones. “They help us see things that we can’t,” says Colby, who works for the WWF. Drones can easily identify (识别) poachers in the dark. As well as finding poachers, these tools can be used to follow and protect animals. Scientists at a university plan to use them for a project: recording wildlife and identifying animal groups. The project leader believes drones will become widely used. “I think we will have plenty of drones flying over forests,” he predicts. A tool made for war is now being used to save lives. “Drones can be good for both humans and animals. There’s nothing that can take the place of a good scientist. But now, thanks to drones, scientists are able to finish projects they’ve never imagined before,” says Kike, a man who cares about the environment. 1.What do drones do for the people in Rwanda? A.They take clear pictures. B.They help the homeless in time. C.They send medicine fast. D.They judge the situation carefully. 2.What does the underlined word “They” in Paragraph 3 refer to? A.The drones. B.The poachers. C.The animals. D.The organizations. 3.What are drones mainly used for in Paragraph 3? A.Starting a project. B.Finding lost people. C.Protecting animals. D.Recording daily life. 4.What can we infer from Kike’s words? A.Wars have brought many problems. B.New technologies need improvement. C.People should protect the environment. D.Drones can help scientists do more things. 5.In which section of a magazine can we read the text? A.Nature. B.Technology. C.Health. D.Travel. On January 13, 2026, the world’s first 20-megawatt offshore wind turbine was successfully completed in the waters off East China’s Fujian Province. This wind turbine is 30 kilometers off the coast of Fujian, in seawater more than 40 meters deep. It shows that big wind power projects can work well in challenging ocean conditions. After starting up, the huge fan will create 80 million kilowatt-hours (千瓦时) of energy every year—enough for 44,000 families to use. It is also expected to save about 24,000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions (二氧化碳排放) by about 64,000 tons every year. As the world’s largest wind turbine, it is part of an important national research and development program for China, with all its necessary parts independently developed and produced domestically instead of being bought from foreign countries. China has been the world leader in wind power, with more wind energy than any other country—over 40% of the world’s total. By November 2025, it had over 600 million kilowatts of wind power, far more than other countries. Wind power plays a key role in China’s move towards cleaner, greener energy: there are huge wind farms on land in the north and west, and more wind farms are quickly being built at sea along the east, providing clean electricity to millions of homes and helping cut carbon emissions. China also shares its green progress with the world. Official reports show that from 2021 to 2025, the wind and solar (太阳能) products China sold to other countries helped cut carbon emissions by about 4,100,000 tons. With the world’s biggest renewable energy system, new technology, and strong government support, it will keep working with other nations to help the world move to clean, low-carbon energy and build a cleaner, greener future for everyone. 1.What is special about the 20-megawatt offshore wind turbine? A.It is expected to produce tons of standard coal. B.It is the largest machine used in ocean projects. C.It is working well in challenging ocean conditions. D.It is the first wind turbine in Fujian’s offshore areas. 2.What can we infer from Paragraph 4? A.China has great advantages in wind power. B.China has found other cleaner energies recently. C.Wind power has been widely used in every country. D.Wind power growth will slow down later in China. 3.What does the underlined word “it” in Paragraph 5 refer to? A.The wind turbine. B.The government support. C.The new technology. D.The renewable energy system 4.How does China share its green progress with other countries? A.By sharing official reports with them. B.By selling them wind and solar products. C.By cutting carbon to 4,100,000 tons. D.By helping them build the biggest energy system. 5.Which can be the best title for the text? A.Different Uses of Wind Power B.Wind Turbines All Over the World C.China’s New Wind Power Achievements D.The Changes of Wind Energy to Daily Life Be Ready for Your Dream Jobs! ①What’s your dream job? How much do you know about it? A group of students from Tianjin found that most of them had few ideas about their future jobs due to a lack of support from school or family. ②To provide helpful guidance (指导), students from TEDA No.1 Secondary School started an activity called “Dian Zhi Cheng Shi, Zhi Yin Wei Lai”. The team interviewed professionals (专业人士) from different fields and published their interviews on the Internet. These professionals shared their true stories and opinions on different jobs. “We also invited the professionals to give talks so that students could talk to them face to face,” said Wang Xinran. ③Wang’s favourite interview was with a photographer. “I used to think being a photographer was cool, but now I realize they face many challenges. For example, they have to talk with different people and keep an eye on the weather. One of the biggest challenges is the awful weather. So I think the job isn’t easy,” the photographer said. ④Such interviews don’t disappoint students because there are still some happy and exciting things at work. “We want to show the beauty in every profession,” said Zhao Yajie. “We believe work should be about love. And we hope the activity can help students understand that.” ⑤All in all, schools and families should offer more forms of career guidance for students. It shows that such guidance is important for students to know future jobs clearly, love their future work and make full preparations for their dream jobs. 1.Why did the students from TEDA No.1 Secondary School start the activity? A.To provide students with useful guidance. B.To get along well with others. C.To interview professionals. D.To have more experiences. 2.What did these professionals share? A.Some useful work experience. B.Some of their ways of looking for a job. C.Their dream jobs in the past. D.Their true stories and ideas about different jobs. 3.What challenges do photographers need to face according to the text? A.They need to carry many things. B.They need to keep an eye on the weather. C.They have to look for beautiful places. D.They have to satisfy many people’s needs. 4.Which of the following would Zhao Yajie agree with? A.People can’t work for money. B.People should do the job they love. C.It’s useless to join in the activity. D.The activity is helpful to teachers. 5.What is the best structure of this text? (①=Paragraph 1) A.①→②③→④⑤ B.①→②③④⑤ C.①→②→③④⑤ D.①→②③④→⑤ From a young age, we are taught not to lie. But do people sometimes lie when it is to their advantage? If they do lie, how often do they do so? What kind of lies do people usually tell? These are the questions that interest researchers. To study lying behavior without influencing the behavior of a liar, researchers have developed some creative experiments. One is the die-under-the-cup experiment. Each participant (参与者) sits alone in a closed room. In front of the participant is a cup with a small hole and a die. Each participant is asked to cover the die with the cup, shake the die, peek through the hole, and report the number on the die. They are told that the higher the number they report, the more they get paid, which means if they report 2, they will receive $2, and 6 for $6. In this experiment, it is worthwhile for them to report a high number to receive more money. They know only they can see the true result. When people roll a die, the chance of rolling any number from 1 to 6 is the same—exactly 1/6 (about 16.67%). So, if a large number of participants roll a die and report the number they really see, then about 1/6 would report 1, 1/6 would report 2, and the like. However, if participants lie and report higher numbers to get more money, the percentage of participants reporting 1 or 2 would be lower than 1/6. Here is what the researchers found. Participants were more likely to report more high numbers (4, 5, 6) and fewer low numbers. However, instead of always reporting the highest number, participants usually reported slightly (稍微) higher numbers than what they rolled. Why do people lie only a little? Some studies note it is important for people to think of themselves as honest people, so they balance the wish to benefit from the lie with the wish to keep a positive self-image Also, the wish to keep a positive social image is another reason. The fear of being seen as a liar often reduces the possibility to lie. How is it possible to use these findings to reduce dishonesty? In a study in the UK, aimed at stopping people from stealing bicycles, researchers placed signs near the bicycle-parking area with a photograph of eyes and the words “we are watching you.” After that, fewer bicycles were stolen in those areas. The image and words increased people’s social image concerns (担忧). That means the findings are useful in reducing dishonesty to some degree. Future experiments should test how these findings might help people be more honest in different real-life situations. 1.What are participants asked to do in the experiment? A.Guess the die number without looking. B.Show the real die number to the public. C.Compare die numbers with other participants. D.Shake the die and report the number they see alone. 2.Which of the following can best show the result of the die-under-the-cup experiment? A. B. C. D. 3.Why do people only tell small lies in the experiment? A.They are afraid of losing money. B.They want to keep a good self-image. C.They know others will know the truth. D.They cannot remember the real number. 4.What can we learn from the UK study? A.Eye pictures can remind people to behave honestly. B.Bike stealing is mainly caused by social pressure. C.Clear rules can stop people from telling small lies. D.People care little about their social image in public. 5.How does the writer develop the passage? A.By listing problems and having discussions. B.By presenting a fact and telling personal stories. C.By raising questions and showing related research. D.By comparing different opinions on a common habit. AI chatbots (聊天机器人) might be very smart but a new study found that they’re not good at giving health advice. Some people use AI to find out what is wrong with them and to help them decide when to see a doctor—or even go to hospital. This is a problem if the advice they get isn’t correct. AI companies have developed chatbots that focus on health problems, and some of them have even passed medical exams. However, the new study shows that they aren’t very useful when a real person asks them for help with their health. Almost 1,300 people took part in the study. Each was given fake health problems with a list of symptoms (症状) (signs or effects) and asked to use an AI to get a made-up medical history. For example, one healthy person was told to tell the AI that he had a really bad headache. The people were divided into two groups. One group could ask the AI chatbots to identify (确认) their illness and say whether they should look after themselves at home or see a doctor. The other group could use the internet to find out the same information. Real doctors then checked whether the volunteers had worked out their “illness” and what to do next. The results of the study are worrying. Only about one third of the volunteers got the right answer from the AI. In fact, the study found that the AI’s advice was no better than just using the Internet. “AI can’t be safely depended on to take the place of a medical expert,” said Dr Rebecca Payne, who led the study. She said that asking an AI for health advice can be wrong sometimes. They might give wrong information if someone is unwell or if urgent (紧急的) help is needed, she said. If you’re worried about anything, talk to a trusted adult. 1.What problem does the first paragraph point out? A.People may get wrong health advice from AI. A.unclear B.unfair C.unsafe D.untrue 3.How did the researchers find out which group did better in the study? A.By asking the volunteers themselves. B.By letting doctors check the answers. C.By comparing the time each group spent. D.By counting how many questions were asked. 4.Which of the following best shows the result of the study? A. B. C. D. 5.Why does the writer mention Dr. Rebecca Payne’s words? A.To tell readers to use AI more. B.To make readers think themselves. C.To warn readers about trusting AI. D.To encourage readers to use the Internet. Most people fail to build good habits. They follow a strict rule: “Never miss a day.” They think they must be perfect. 1 When they miss just one day because they are sick or busy, they feel like failures. Then, they give up completely. Fortunately, there is a better way called the “2-Day Rule.” The idea is simple: You can miss one day, but never two days in a row. 2 This rule gives you a safety net. It stops a small mistake from becoming a big failure, so you can keep going without too much pressure. 3 For example, do not say, “I will run for an hour.” Instead, say, “I will just put on my running shoes.” Make the step so tiny that it feels easy. These small actions help you keep the habit even on bad days. Also, be kind to yourself. Are you tired? That is okay. Take a break for one day. 4 The most important thing is to start again the next day. Even if you miss two days by accident, do not worry. Just restart. 5 With this rule, small efforts will finally become a part of your life. A.By allowing this break, you give yourself permission to rest without quitting. B.However, this way of thinking often leads to giving up. C.Start with steps so small that you can’t say no. D.Good habits come from keeping going, not from being perfect. E.There is no need to feel sorry—it is just part of learning. For example, we may try a food we have never had before. 2 It can be too sour, too salty or too spicy. We may try a new style of music and get a headache. We may try a new sport like skating and end up falling down a lot. We may see a different kind of art and be completely disappointed. We may try to speak or write a different language and end up embarrassing ourselves. It sounds risky to us. 3 For example, we can try a new food. And we fall in love with it finally. It can be sweet or tastes very good. We may try a new sport and fall down but we get back up and finally experience pleasure, even for a minute. We may see why people love that sport so much. If we try a new kind of music, we may regret we didn’t find it sooner. 4 We can try to write or speak a different language, and we may be a little embarrassed at first, but we know that the only way to improve is to make mistakes and keep on trying. 5 If we never try, we will never learn, and we will never grow. So take a deep breath, and try something new today! A.However, the result is not always bad. B.It may turn out to be our favorite music. C.And we don’t like the food finally. Some people write down their resolutions and plans for the coming year. 3 Others tell their family and friends about their wishes and plans. There are different kinds of resolutions. Some are about physical health. For example, some people promise themselves they are going to start an exercise program or eat less fast food. 4 They might say they are going to take up a hobby like painting or taking photos, or learn to play the guitar. Some resolutions are about better planning, like making a weekly plan for schoolwork. C.Health. D.Travel. 1.第二段“Drones can quickly provide healthcare service to the hospitals around Rwanda, and more people receive life-saving medicine.” 2.第三段“To stop them, the WWF uses drones. ‘They help us see things that we can’t,’”表明,划线词They承接前文内容,指代前文提到的无人机。 3.第三段“Drones are also helping environmental organizations ... these tools can be used to follow and protect animals.” 4.最后一段“But now, thanks to drones, scientists are able to finish projects they’ve never imagined before”表明无人机可以帮助科学家完成更多以往难以实现的研究工作。 5. For example, they have to talk with different people and keep an eye on the weather. One of the biggest challenges is the awful weather. So I think the job isn’t easy,” the photographer said. ④Such interviews don’t disappoint students because there are still some happy and exciting things at work. “We want to show the beauty in every profession,” said Zhao Yajie. “We believe work should be about love. And we hope the activity can help students understand that.” ⑤All in all, schools and families should offer more forms of career guidance for students. Each participant is asked to cover the die with the cup, shake the die, peek through the hole, and report the number on the die. 2.第4段第2句“Participants were more likely to report more high numbers (4,5,6) and fewer low numbers. However, instead of always reporting the highest number, participants usually reported slightly higher numbers than what they rolled.” 3.第5段指出“Some studies note it is important for people to think of themselves as honest people, so they balance the wish to benefit from the lie with the wish to keep a positive self-image (自我形象). Also, the wish to keep a positive social image is another reason. 4.第6段提出“researchers placed signs near the bicycle-parking area with a photograph of eyes and the words ‘we are watching you.’ After that, fewer bicycles were stolen in those areas.” AI chatbots (聊天机器人) might be very smart but a new study found that they’re not good at giving health advice. B.People think AI chatbots are not smart enough. C.People don’t believe AI chatbots for health advice. D.People don’t know how to use AI for health advice. 2.Which of the following can take the place of “fake” in the text? A.unclear B.unfair C.unsafe D.untrue 3.How did the researchers find out which group did better in the study? A.By asking the volunteers themselves. B.By letting doctors check the answers. C.By comparing the time each group spent. D.By counting how many questions were asked. 4.Which of the following best shows the result of the study? A. B. C. D. 5.Why does the writer mention Dr. Rebecca Payne’s words? A.To tell readers to use AI more. B.To make readers think themselves. C.To warn readers about trusting AI. D.To encourage readers to use the Internet. 1.文章第一段“AI chatbots might be very smart but a new study found that they’re not good at giving health advice. Some people use AI to find out what is wrong with them and to help them decide when to see a doctor — or even go to hospital. This is a problem if the advice they get isn’t correct.” 2.文章第三段“Each was given fake health problems with a list of symptoms and asked to use an AI to get a made-up medical history.” 3.文章第四段“Real doctors then checked whether the volunteers had worked out their ‘illness’ and what to do next.” 4.文章第五段“Only about one third of the volunteers got the right answer from the AI.” 5.文章第六段“‘AI can’t be safely depended on to take the place of a medical expert,’ said Dr Rebecca Payne... They might give wrong information if someone is unwell or if urgent help is needed, she said.” Most people fail to build good habits. F.This makes your brain work smarter, not harder. 1.文章第1段“They follow a strict rule: ‘Never miss a day.’ They think they must be perfect. When they miss just one day because they are sick or busy, they feel like failures. Then, they give up completely.” B“However, this way of thinking often leads to giving up.”中“this way of thinking”指代前文的“必须完美”,“leads to giving up”与后文的“give up completely”相呼应。 2.文章第2段“Fortunately, there is a better way called the ‘2-Day Rule.’ The idea is simple: You can miss one day, but never two days in a row...so you can keep going without too much pressure.” D“Good habits come from keeping going, not from being perfect.” 3.文章第3段“For example, do not say, ‘I will run for an hour.’ Instead, say, ‘I will just put on my running shoes.’ Make the step so tiny that it feels easy. These small actions help you keep the habit even on bad days.” C“Start with steps so small that you can’t say no.”作为主题句,其中“steps so small”与后文“step so tiny”直接对应。 4.文章第4段“Also, be kind to yourself. Are you tired? That is okay. Take a break for one day. The most important thing is to start again the next day.” A“By allowing this break, you give yourself permission to rest without quitting.” 5.文章第5段“Even if you miss two days by accident, do not worry. Just restart. With this rule, small efforts will finally become a part of your life.” E“There is no need to feel sorry—it is just part of learning.”中“no need to feel sorry”与前文“do not worry”语义相近,符合语境。 Every one of us has a chance to try new things. 1 The risk is that we will not be satisfied with our choice. D.All in all, keep trying something new. E.Trying new things can be exciting, but it can also be risky. F.We can make friends with people who like this kind of music. 1.后文指出“The risk is that we will not be satisfied with our choice.”,可知此处应引出尝试新事物的两面性。 2.前文指出“For example, we may try a food we have never had before.”,以及后文“It can be too sour, too salty or too spicy.”,可知此处描述尝试新食物的负面结果。 3.前文指出“It sounds risky to us.”,以及后文“For example, we can try a new food. And we fall in love with it finally.”,可知此处应转折说明尝试新事物也可能有好结果。 4.前文指出“If we try a new kind of music, we may regret we didn’t find it sooner.”,可知此处应承接尝试新音乐的积极结果。 5.后文指出“If we never try, we will never learn, and we will never grow. It’s a kind of promise. 1 Most of the time, we make promises to other people. For example, “Mom, I promise to clean my room after school.” However, promises you make to yourself are resolutions. 2 When we make resolutions at the beginning of the year, we hope that we are going to improve our lives. Although there are differences, most resolutions have one thing in common. 5 Sometimes the resolutions may be too difficult to keep. Sometimes people just forget about them. For this reason, some people say the best resolution is to have no resolutions! A.This helps them to remember their resolutions. B.It’s a promise you make to yourself. C.People hardly ever keep them. Scientific spirit is of great importance in our life. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 例文: How Can We Develop Our Scientific Spirit? Scientific spirit is of great importance in our life. It helps us think better and solve problems logically. To have scientific spirit, we need several qualities. First, be curious and always ask “why”. Second, be patient and never give up. Third, be brave to try new things and learn from mistakes. In my opinion, curiosity is the most important quality.
