根据“How to get to Inishmore”部分“Ferry from Doolin to Inishmore ⇒Cost of a round trip: €39 per adult(从杜林到伊尼什莫尔岛的渡轮⇒往返费用:每位成人39欧元)”可知,一对夫妻往返的费用为 39×2 = 78 欧元。 根据“Worm Hole”部分“Known locally as the Serpent's Lair, this rectangular hole in the rock is a playground for local kids and tourists who want to go cliff diving(虫洞 当地称为蛇窝,岩石中的这个矩形洞是当地孩子和想要悬崖跳水的游客的游乐场)”可推知,虫洞对水上运动爱好者最有吸引力。故选D项。 B There can be no doubt that Stephen King, New York Time’s Best-Selling author, has found success in many aspects, but it wasn’t always like this. King witnessed tragedy and horrors from the very beginning. When he was 2 years old, his father told his mom that he was going out to get cigarettes but in fact, he never came back, he had abandoned his family. This left his mother Ruth to care for Stephen and his elder brother David on her own. Ruth was forced to move often, desperately looking for work as she was now the only provider of the family, and she had to rely on relatives most of the time. One day Stephen went out to play with friends and when he came back, he wasn’t even able to speak a single word, it seemed he was hurt mentally or something, but he still got the courage to continue forward. It turned out that one of his friends was hit by a train and died, which left an emotional scar on him. King, later on, dropped out of school due to some serious health concerns and was told that he had to enlist (入伍) again the next fall, which demotivated him too. Although Stephen King didn’t see his childhood as something extraordinary or special, he did say that he was always fascinated by scary things. People used to acknowledge the King family by their love of literature, in fact whenever Stephen’s mom had to go out, she didn’t hire a babysitter, for the kids used to read novels to each other so they would not get bored. Stephen King’s love of stories was developed from a very young age and he carried that tradition with his own children along with his wife Tabitha. In 1973, Stephen King started his amazing journey of success when he published his first novel Carrie, which is scary. The rest followed from after that as he published many amazing books like The Shining, IT, Firestarter, and Cujo. All of these books became instant classics and got their own movie and television shows adaptions. 4. What is mainly talked about about Stephen King in the first two paragraphs? A. His achievements in writing. B. His unfortunate childhood. C. His difficulty in supporting the family. D. His mother’s bitter experiences. 5. What left Stephen King not even speaking a single word? A. He was knocked down by a passing train. B. He was badly criticized by a close friend. C. He was depressed by the constant moves. D. He was heart-struck by a terrible accident. 6. What does the underlined word “demotivated” in paragraph 3 mean? A. Discouraged. B. Relaxed. C. Embarrassed. D. Inspired. 7. Why didn’t Stephen’s mom hire a babysitter? A. The family was too poor to hire a babysitter. B. The family could not find a proper babysitter. C. The children could actually entertain themselves. D. The children didn’t like to be cared for by others. B 5. D 6. A 7. 根据第一段“There can be no doubt that Stephen King, New York Time’s Best-Selling author, has found success in many aspects, but it wasn’t always like this. King witnessed tragedy and horrors from the very beginning. When he was 2 years old, his father told his mom that he was going out to get cigarettes but in fact, he never came back, he had abandoned his family.(毫无疑问,《纽约时报》畅销书作家斯蒂芬·金在很多方面都取得了成功,但并不总是这样。金从一开始就目睹了悲剧和恐怖。当他两岁的时候,他的父亲告诉他妈妈他要出去买烟,但事实上,他再也没有回来,他抛弃了他的家庭)”以及第二段“This left his mother Ruth to care for Stephen and his elder brother David on her own. It turned out that one of his friends was hit by a train and died, which left an emotional scar on him.(这让他的母亲Ruth独自照顾斯蒂芬和他的哥哥大卫。 根据第二段“One day Stephen went out to play with friends and when he came back, he wasn’t even able to speak a single word, it seemed he was hurt mentally or something, but he still got the courage to continue forward. It turned out that one of his friends was hit by a train and died, which left an emotional scar on him.(有一天,斯蒂芬和朋友们出去玩,当他回来的时候,他甚至不能说一个字,似乎他精神上受伤了还是怎么的,但他仍然有勇气继续前进。原来,他的一个朋友被火车撞死了,这给他留下了情感上的伤疤)”可知,Stephen因为一位朋友被火车撞击致死的事故深受打击,导致他一时无法言语。故选D。 【6题详解】 词句猜测题。根据划线词上文“King, later on, dropped out of school due to some serious health concerns and was told that he had to enlist (入伍) again the next fall,(后来,金因为一些严重的健康问题而辍学,并被告知他必须在第二年秋天再次入伍)”可知,金后来因为一些严重的健康问题而辍学,这是一件令人泄气的事,所以demotivated意为Discouraged“使泄气”之意。故选A。 根据倒数第二段“People used to acknowledge the King family by their love of literature, in fact whenever Stephen’s mom used to go out, she didn’t hire a babysitter, for the kids used to read novels to each other so they would not get bored.(人们过去常常以他们对文学的热爱来认可金一家,事实上,每当斯蒂芬的妈妈出去时,她都不会雇保姆,因为孩子们过去常常互相读小说,这样他们就不会感到无聊)”可知,孩子们通过阅读相互陪伴,所以不需要额外雇用保姆。故选C。 C When we’re little, we learn that tigers and sharks are scary animals. They’re big and strong, so we might be afraid of them. But as we grow up, we find out that sometimes the smallest animals can be the most dangerous. In fact, the animal that hurts the most people is one we all know: the mosquito. Not all mosquitoes bite people. Male mosquitoes eat nectar from plants. But female mosquitoes need animal blood. When a female mosquito bites a person, it puts its saliva into the person’s blood. This saliva might have a deadly disease in it. Sometimes the bite just makes you itch, but other times it can be very serious and even cause death. Mosquitoes bite a lot of people in their lives. They can easily spread diseases from one person to another. Every year, over 700 million people get sick from these diseases, and at least 2 million people die from them. Some people use mosquito nets over their beds to keep mosquitoes away. Mosquitoes also have natural enemies like bats, birds, dragonflies, and some fish. If we bring more of these animals to places where mosquitoes live, it might help reduce the number of mosquitoes. But this doesn’t always work well. We can also use sprays or poisons to kill mosquitoes, but these can hurt other plants or animals too. Even though mosquitoes don’t look as scary as big animals, they’re actually more dangerous to people. But things are changing. Scientists are working hard, and one day they might find a way to protect everyone from mosquitoes and the diseases they carry. 8. Why does the passage mention dangerous animals like tigers and sharks? A. To compare different animals. B. To lead into the topic about mosquitoes. C. To show how dangerous tigers and sharks are. D. To show people’s misunderstanding of dangerous animals. 9. What can we learn about mosquitoes? A. Female mosquitoes might transmit diseases to humans. B. The saliva of female mosquitoes contains deadly diseases. C. Male mosquitoes and female mosquitoes have the same eating habits. D. More than 700 million people die from the diseases carried by the mosquitoes. 10. What’s paragraph 4 mainly about? A. Scientists are making efforts to kill mosquitoes. B. Some useful measures are taken to kill mosquitoes. C. There is no perfect solution to the mosquito problem. D. Mosquitoes’ natural enemies could protect human beings. 11. What’s the author’s attitude towards the future of solving the mosquito problem? A. Doubtful. B. Positive. C. Unclear. D. Negative. B 9. A 10. C 11. 根据第一段中“When we’re little, we learn that tigers and sharks are scary animals. They’re big and strong, so we might be afraid of them. But as we grow up, we find out that sometimes the smallest animals can be the most dangerous. In fact, the animal that hurts the most people is one we all know: the mosquito.( 当我们小的时候,我们知道老虎和鲨鱼是可怕的动物。它们又大又壮,所以我们可能会害怕它们。但随着我们长大,我们发现有时最小的动物可能是最危险的。事实上,伤害人类最多的动物是我们都知道的:蚊子。)”可知,开篇提及老虎、鲨鱼是为了通过“大型动物看似危险”与“蚊子微小却更致命”的反差,自然引出核心话题蚊子。故选B项。 【9题详解】 细节理解题。根据第二段中“When a female mosquito bites a person, it puts its saliva into the person’s blood. This saliva might have a deadly disease in it. Sometimes the bite just makes you itch, but other times it can be very serious and even cause death.( 当雌蚊子叮咬一个人时,它会将唾液放入人的血液中。唾液里可能有致命的疾病。有时被咬只会让你发痒,但有时会非常严重,甚至会导致死亡。)”可知,雌性蚊子可能会把疾病传染给人类。故选A项。 根据第四段“Some people use mosquito nets over their beds to keep mosquitoes away. Mosquitoes also have natural enemies like bats, birds, dragonflies, and some fish. If we bring more of these animals to places where mosquitoes live, it might help reduce the number of mosquitoes. But this doesn’t always work well. We can also use sprays or poisons to kill mosquitoes, but these can hurt other plants or animals too.( 有些人在床上使用蚊帐来驱赶蚊子。蚊子也有天敌,比如蝙蝠、鸟、蜻蜓和一些鱼。如果我们把更多的这些动物带到蚊子生活的地方,可能有助于减少蚊子的数量。但这并不总是奏效。我们也可以使用喷雾剂或毒药来杀死蚊子,但这些也会伤害其他植物或动物。)”可知,第四段主要讲的是对于蚊子的问题没有完美的解决办法。故选C项。 【11题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段中“Scientists are working hard, and one day they might find a way to protect everyone from mosquitoes and the diseases they carry.( 科学家们正在努力工作,有一天他们可能会找到一种方法来保护每个人免受蚊子和它们携带的疾病的侵害。)” D “Given that signs of Alzheimer’s disease (老年痴呆症) start to accumulate in the brain several decades before the disease begins, understanding the connection between sleep and cognition (认知) earlier in life is critical for understanding the role of sleep problems as a risk factor for the disease,” said study author Yue Leng, PhD, of the University of California, San Francisco. The study involved 526 people with an average age of 40. They were followed for 11 years. Researchers looked at participants’ sleep duration and quality. Participants wore a wrist activity monitor for three continuous days on two occasions approximately one year apart to calculate their averages. Participants slept for an average of six hours. Participants also reported bedtime and wake-up time in a sleep diary and completed a sleep quality survey with scores ranging from 0 to 21. A total of 239 people reported poor sleep with a score greater than five. Researchers also looked at sleep fragmentation (碎片化), a measure of restlessness during the sleep period expressed as a percentage. The higher the value, the more sleep is interrupted. Participants were divided into three groups based on their sleep fragmentation score. Of the 175 people with the most interrupted sleep, 44 had poor cognitive performance 10 years later, compared to 10 of the 176 people with the least interrupted sleep. After adjusting for age, sex, race, and education, people who had the most interrupted sleep had more than twice the possibility of having poor cognitive performance when compared to those with the least interrupted sleep. There was no difference in cognitive performance at midlife for those in the middle group compared to the group with the least interrupted sleep. However, due to the small sample size, the researchers were unable to fully investigate potential race or sex differences. “More research is needed to assess the link between sleep disturbances and cognition at different life stages and to identify if critical life periods exist when sleep is more strongly associated with cognition,” Leng said. 12. What do we know about Yue Leng’s study? A. Data collection was an easy process. B. It aimed to find a cure for Alzheimer’s. C. The results were far from satisfactory. D. Higher scores mean poorer sleep quality. 13. What can we learn about sleep fragmentation in the study? A. It did require outside intervention. B. It included a series of memory tests. C. It measured short interruptions of sleep. D. It determined those participants’ groups. 14. What do the findings indicate according to the text? A. The quality of sleep may affect cognitive health. B. Keeping a sleep diary can improve one’s sleep quality. C. People sleeping well won’t suffer from Alzheimer’s disease. D. People with interrupted sleep won’t have memory problems. 15. What is the last paragraph mainly about? A. The major limitation of the study. B. An explanation of the research method. C. A possible reason for the study findings. D. The use of careful investigations in real life. D 13. C 14. A 15. 根据第二段中的“A total of 239 people reported poor sleep with a score greater than five.(共有239人报告睡眠质量不佳,得分超过5分。)” 根据第三段中的“Researchers also looked at sleep fragmentation, a measure of restlessness during the sleep period expressed as a percentage. The higher the value, the more sleep is interrupted.(研究人员还研究了睡眠碎片化,这是一种以百分比表示的睡眠期间不安的衡量标准。值越高,睡眠中断的次数就越多。)”可知,睡眠碎片化是一种用百分比表示的睡眠期间频繁唤醒状态的一种量度。数值越高,睡眠中断越多。也就是说睡眠碎片化可以测量睡眠中的短暂中断。故选C。 【14题详解】 细节理解题。根据第四段中的“After adjusting for age, sex, race, and education, people who had the most interrupted sleep had more than twice the possibility of having poor cognitive performance when compared to those with the least interrupted sleep.(在调整了年龄、性别、种族和教育程度后,睡眠中断次数最多的人认知能力较差的可能性是睡眠中断次数最少的人的两倍多)”可知,在对年龄、性别、种族和受教育程度进行调整后,睡眠中断最严重的人与睡眠中断最少的人相比,认知表现不佳的概率是后者的两倍多。 故选A。 根据最后一段中的“However, due to the small sample size, the researchers were unable to fully investigate potential race or sex differences.(然而,由于样本量较小,研究人员无法充分调查潜在的种族或性别差异。)”和Leng所说的话“‘More research is needed to assess the link between sleep disturbances and cognition at different life stages…’(“需要更多的研究来评估睡眠障碍与不同生命阶段认知之间的联系……”)” 故选A。 Woodworking, sewing, or sculpting cupcakes—any form of art benefits your mind and body. The virtual forest buzzed with life—3D fireflies danced above a stream, their glow waving on the water. My team had spent months programming this for the Eco Youth Summit, to show how deforestation harms wildlife. The air smelled of fresh paint, and whispers from the audience reached me through the headset. But as judges approached, the headset suddenly went dark. Panic surged through me. I tore off the device to see Maya frozen at the control panel(控制板). “Server crashed,” she mouthed, hands shaking over the black screen. “Our project—it’s all gone.” Murmurs rose in the crowd, and my neck burned under the stage lights. I scanned the judges, their expectant smiles fading. A man in green tapped his writing board; the woman beside him frowned at her watch. Then my gaze met a girl in the front row, holding a stuffed owl(猫头鹰). Her pigtails bobbed as she leaned forward, but when I shook my head, her eyes filled with disappointment—mirroring my sister’s look when a trip is canceled. “Wait,” I claimed, grabbing Maya’s arm. She shrank back, but I pressed on: “What if we tell the story without VR?” For a moment, she stared, then nodded sharply. Stepping to the stage edge, I said, “This forest isn’t just code. It’s a real home where owls nest...” My voice cracked, but words poured out—about drying rivers, about birds losing habitats. When I finished, the auditorium fell silent. Suddenly the girl rose to her feet, with her sneakers making a sharp noise: “Instead of a virtual forest, can we plant a real tree?” The audience laughed softly, and judges exchanged nods. Maya’s hand found mine, steady and warm. Though the VR failed, a definite idea had taken root. The crowd’s laughter faded as the head judge stood up, microphone in hand. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Two weeks later, volunteers arrived at the school with gardening tools and young trees. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】The crowd’s laughter faded as the head judge stood up, microphone in hand. “What an inspiring idea!” he exclaimed. “Though your VR project faced setbacks, your passion for the environment truly shines. We can turn this virtual failure into a real - world success.” He proposed that the school initiate a tree - planting project. The audience burst into applause, and excitement filled the air. Maya and I exchanged excited glances, our disappointment replaced by newfound determination. Two weeks later, volunteers arrived at the school with gardening tools and young trees. Students from different grades gathered, eager to contribute. Maya and I led the way, showing others how to dig holes and plant saplings. The girl with the stuffed owl was there, her eyes bright with enthusiasm. As we watered the newly - planted trees, we knew that our message about protecting the environment had truly taken hold. What started as a VR disaster had blossomed into a meaningful movement to make our world greener. 词汇激活 行为类 ①赞扬:exclaim /praise ②提议:propose /suggest ③带头:lead the way /take the lead 情绪类: ①兴奋: excitement /thrill /exhilaration ②热情: enthusiasm/passion /eagerness 【点睛】【高分句型 1】Though your VR project faced setbacks, your passion for the environment truly shines.(运用了 though 引导的让步状语从句 ) 【高分句型 2】As we watered the newly - planted trees, we knew that our message about protecting the environment had truly taken hold.(运用了 as 引导的时间状语从句,以及 that 引导的宾语从句 ) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2026年福建省诏安县高三下学期命题趋势预测(二) 英语 注意事项: 1. A TAKE A DAY TRIP TO INISHMORE The Aran Islands are a group of three islands located off the western coast of Ireland. C When we’re little, we learn that tigers and sharks are scary animals. A. Doubtful. B. Positive. C. Unclear. D. Negative. D “Given that signs of Alzheimer’s disease (老年痴呆症) start to accumulate in the brain several decades before the disease begins, understanding the connection between sleep and cognition (认知) earlier in life is critical for understanding the role of sleep problems as a risk factor for the disease,” said study author Yue Leng, PhD, of the University of California, San Francisco. Woodworking, sewing, or sculpting cupcakes—any form of art benefits your mind and body. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
