Wisdom Is Organized Life
The sentence"Wisdom Is Organized Life"conveys that wisdom does not come from empty
theories, but grows from structured, intentional living.A chaotic life filled with random choices
can never breed real insight, while well-arranged routines and deliberate reflections help us learn
lessons from daily experiences.
In my daily life,I keep a clear weekly schedule to balance study and rest, and spend 10
minutes every night reviewing what I have gained or corrected that day. This regular arrangement
not only makes my life efficient, but also helps me accumulate practical wisdom little by little.

crowded around Luke, applauding his amazing grilling skills.Bathed in warm praise,Luke felt a
sense of pride welling up inside him.Gradually,he began to talk with others naturally,a brilliant
smile spreading across his face.Never had he felt so confident, for he finally understood that

Selected from authoritative lists like the Guardian’s “100 Best Books of the 21st Century” and the New York Times’ annual recommendations, these three works offer unique windows into history, humanity, and imagination.
Gilead by Marilynne Robinson
First on the list is this Pulitzer Prize-winning novel that reads like a heartfelt letter. Written from the perspective of an aging preacher, John Ames, the book reflects on his family’s journey through American history — from the Civil War to the 1950s. With its lyrical prose and deep moral reflections, Gilead has earned a Douban rating of 8.0, captivating readers with its emotional resonance.
Secondhand Time by Svetlana Alexievich
Next is a Nobel Prize-winning work of nonfiction. Through intimate oral interviews, the Belarusian author documents the lives of ordinary people during the chaotic transition of post-Soviet Russia (1991-2012). These firsthand accounts reveal the hopes, struggles, and despair of those caught in historical unrest, offering a raw view of a society in turmoil. Recognized for its powerful storytelling, the book boasts an impressive 8.8 rating on Douban, standing as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit.

Ishiguro masterfully blends science fiction with profound questions about identity, love, and mortality, creating a narrative that lingers in the mind long after the final page. Ladakh, in the trans-Himalayas, with its vast, uninhabited and stunning landscapes, has fascinated me since my first visit 20 years ago. In 2011, my fifth time in Ladakh, the region’s raw beauty held an entirely different pull — one that seemed to hum with an ancient energy, a force I hadn’t noticed before.
In the very bones of the land lay a collection of prehistoric carvings known as petroglyphs, the only remains of prehistoric human presence in the area. Seeing these carvings, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was witnessing something far deeper than I had imagined. There was an urgency to document them, as centuries-old carvings were being destroyed under the pressures of development. As a mountain enthusiast always seeking adventures, this attractive art drew me in, like a moth to a flame, beginning a decade-long journey of discovery and documentation.
These markings were not just carvings on rock but reflections of an ancient culture we know little about. Despite tough living conditions, these huntergatherers still found ways to convey their beliefs and observations through highly stylized forms, reflecting the deep artistic desire that has always been a part of the human — long before the rise of civilized society. As artist and anthropologist Desmond Morris put it, “It is as if the human species were incapable of being artless regardless of material circumstances.”
To bring these open-air art galleries to a wider audience, I wanted to create something that had not been attempted before by using specialized photography techniques with my focus being on distribution, styles and creative range. It was no small matter, given the vastness of Ladakh, my ambition to capture art from every region, the limited windows of opportunity, and the harsh conditions I faced. Not to mention, all my trips were personally funded. When the book — Speaking Stones: Rock Art of Ladakh — was named a finalist for the Banff Mountain Book Award in 2024, I was honored, but the recognition was secondary. My true reward was a deeper connection with time and nature through a vast unbroken string, binding us all together.
24.What drove the author to document the petroglyphs?
A.The threat of regional progress. B.The appeal of amazing scenery.
C.A search for thrilling experiences. D.A childhood bond with ancient art.
25.What can we learn from Morris’s quote in paragraph 3?
A.Art is the mirror of nature. B.Art inspires human wisdom.
C.Art is deeply rooted in humans. D.Art can’t exist without materials.
26.Which can best describe the process of creating the book?
A.Systematic. B.Brain-tearing. C.Painstaking. D.Eventful.
27.Which of the following can be a suitable title for the text?
A.Tasting the Past: The Analysis of Petroglyph
B.Written in Stone: Ladakh’s Timeless Artistry
C.Guarding the Rocks: A Saver of Ladakh’s Heritage
D.Carved by Time: A Record of Himalayan Geography
C
A new study published in Science suggests AI systems’ responses may disturb people’s ability to handle interpersonal conflicts. Scientists found that when AI chatbots are used for advice on interpersonal issues, they profess users’ perspectives much more often than humans and even praise clearly problematic behaviors. This behavior makes users view AI responses as more trustworthy, so they are more likely to turn to the agreeable AI again for future interpersonal issues.
Myra Cheng, a university professor and lead author of the study, was inspired after she learned that undergraduates were increasingly using AI to solve relationship issues. She worries people will lose the skills to deal with difficult social situations, as AI never tells users they are wrong or offers the “tough love” sometimes needed. While AI is overly agreeable on fact-based questions, few studies have explored how Large Language Models (LLMs) powering AI judge social dilemmas (困境).
Cheng’s team evaluated 11 major LLMs, including ChatGPT and Gemini, using established interpersonal advice datasets. They also presented LLMs with harmful action statements and tested 2,400 participants who chatted with both overly agreeable and objective AI chatbots. They found AI supported users 49% more often than humans on average and praised problematic behaviors 47% of the time; participants judged overly agreeable AI chatbots as more trustworthy, enhancing their original views.
Researchers claimed this preference may leave developers unmotivated to fix AI’s sycophancy, creating a harmful feedback circle, where engagement with AI models and their training could enhance such overly agreeable behavior. Additionally, participants could not distinguish overly agreeable AI chatbots from objective ones, mistakenly thinking they were equally fair. One reason the researchers cited was that AI’s agreement often came wrapped in neutral, academic language, making its biased opinion hard to recognize. The study warns overusing AI for interpersonal advice may disturb moral growth and narrow perspectives, as avoiding social conflicts — easy with AI — is key to healthy relationships.
28.What does the underlined word “profess” in paragraph 1 probably mean?
A.Simplify. B.Back. C.Contradict. D.Dismiss.
29.What is Cheng’s concern?
A.AI is dangerously replacing human communication.
B.Colleges fail to offer necessary guidance to graduates.
C.Students rely too much on digital products in daily study.
D.People may gradually lose competence in handling conflicts.
30.What is a finding of Cheng’s experiment?
A.Agreeable AI chatbots are preferred.
B.There is no perfect solution to social dilemmas.
C.LLMs are better at solving fact-based problems.
D.AI models provide more objective advice than humans.
31.Which of the following is the best title for the text?
A.Risks of AI’s Overly Agreeable Advice
B.A New Study on the Future Development of LLMs
C.Ways to Distinguish Biased AI Tools from Objective Ones
D.The Importance of Tough Love in Interpersonal Conflicts

Imagine you performed well in a test. What would you say? Most people would think: “I worked hard” or “I’m smart”. Now imagine you failed. The explanation often shifts: “The test was unfair” or “The teacher graded too strictly.” This tendency — taking credit for success but blaming failure on outside forces — is called the self-serving bias.
This bias is grounded in how our brains protect us. Psychologists explain that we have a deep need to maintain a positive self-image. Accepting failure threatens that image, so our minds naturally look for external (外在的) explanations. Evolutionary biologist Steven Pinker describes such mental shortcuts as “moral illusions” — the ethical equivalent of optical illusions that trick our eyes. Just as our eyes can be fooled by bent lines, our moral judgment can be twisted by self-serving bias without even realizing it.
So how do you know if you’re under its influence? Common signs include: having a great sense of the own worth, rejecting constructive criticism, blaming others for problems, struggling to accept failures, and overstating your own contributions to successes. If these sound familiar, the bias may be at work.
The good news is that awareness is the first step towards overcoming it. Psychologists suggest several strategies to counter this bias. First, examine situations wholly — look at the full picture rather than just what favors you. Second, give credit to others when it’s deserved. Third, even when things go well, ask yourself what could have been better. Finally, consider the ethical dimensions of your decisions: Are you acting fairly, or just protecting your sense of worth?
Self-serving bias is not a sign of bad character — it’s a normal human tendency. But left unchecked, it can damage relationships, block personal growth, and cloud moral judgment. By understanding how it works and learning to recognize it in ourselves, we can make fairer decisions and build a more accurate picture of who we really are.
32.How does the author introduce the term “self-serving bias”?
A.By raising questions. B.By giving examples.
C.By providing statistics. D.By quoting a saying.
33.What is Paragraph 2 mainly about?
A.The characteristics of self-serving bias.
B.The historical origin of self-serving bias.
C.The methods to overcome self-serving bias.
D.The psychological theories behind the bias.
34.According to Paragraph 3, which indicates the presence of self-serving bias?
A.Tom praised his opponent’s skill after losing the games.
B.James failed a math test and blamed the noisy classroom.
C.Lisa accepted her teacher’s feedback to improve herself.
D.Emma thanked her teammates for the support after winning.
35.What is the author’s attitude towards self-serving bias?
A.Objective. B.Dismissive. C.Unclear. D.Favorable.

第二节(满分25分)
Luke, a quiet and shy senior high school student in my class, had long been trapped in a state of deep inferiority and an acute lack of self-confidence. Terrified of taking the initiative to communicate or make friends with his classmates, he always kept himself distant from all forms of social activities. Caught in endless anxiety, he was firmly convinced that the moment he spoke up or showed himself in public, he would be laughed at, looked down upon and judged coldly by others.
Luke actually possessed a well-hidden yet remarkable talent, which was unknown to almost all his classmates. Having practiced barbecuing with his father since childhood, he had gained solid and proficient grilling skills, fully capable of making delicious barbecue food.
Last week, when I announced that we would have a barbecue picnic outdoors that weekend, all classmates cheered and signed up excitedly at once except Luke. He lowered his head in silence, drowned in deep hesitation. As usual, his first reaction was to stay alone at home so as to avoid any awkward social interaction.
Noticing his tendency to escape from social situations, I had a patient and sincere talk with him after class, encouraging him to regard this gathering as a precious opportunity to step out of his closed inner world. After a fierce mental struggle throughout the night, Luke finally plucked up all his courage and made up his mind to take part in the activity bravely.
On the day of the activity, Luke arrived at the spot. Standing awkwardly away from the noisy crowd, he was too timid to take a single step forward to join in anyone’s conversation.
