Read the beginning of the story. Write an ending for it. Use the questions to help you.
The fisherman might say, "Great Genie! If you truly have magic power, prove(证明) you can go back into that small bottle. Even a child wouldn’t believe it!"
No! The genie said, "You don’t believe ME? Watch this!" He turned into smoke and rushed into the bottle to prove his power.
·Would the fisherman succeed in saving himself ? If so, how?

Read the beginning of the story. Write an ending for it. Use the questions to help you.
Yes! As soon as(一……就……) the genie went into the bottle, the fisherman succeeded in sealing(封上) it with all his strength(他所有的力量).
The fisherman threw the bottle into the deep sea shouting:
"Now keep your promise to the next fool who sets you free—
in a thousand years!" The genie’s angry cries faded(逐渐消失) beneath the waves(在海浪之下).

so用来指代刚说过的事物,意为“这样,如此”。

辨析:instead 与 instead of 两者都有“代替”的含义,区别如下:
instead:【副词】常位于句首或句末,位于句首时常用逗号隔开。
instead of:【短语介词】位于句首或句中,后接名词、代词或v-ing。
e.g. He didn't reply. Instead, he left the room. 他没有回答,反而离开了房间。

The fisherman thought quickly and came up with an idea. He asked the genie, “Are you really from this bottle? Your body is so huge, but this bottle is so small. How could you stay inside it?” The genie wanted to prove that he could come out of it and then went back into the bottle by himself. The fisherman quickly covered the bottle and threw it back into the sea.
