Graduation day came. The ceremony was full of laughter and tears. I heard Sarah crying on my left. Owen was laughing the way he always did—big and loud. We had spent six years together at this school. Now it was time for all of us to leave our school. But I found it really hard to say goodbye to my teachers and friends.
After the event, our teachers led us back to the classroom.
“Everyone, sit down please. Now I have something special to show you. Please keep quiet and take turns to experience it.” Mrs. Miller said happily.
I was the first one and asked to sit behind a table. Soon I heard something heavy being set on the desk in front of me.
“All right, Emma. Hold out your hands and touch it.” Mrs. Miller told me.
I reached out my hands and finally touched a smooth surface. To my surprise, I felt a round face, a small nose and a big smile.
I held my breath and asked. “Is this…Sarah?”
“Yes,” the teacher said softly.
I stopped and touched it again. I had heard that smile so many times but now I could even feel it.
Then I moved my hand to the right. It was another face with big eyes and a small bump (凸起) above the left eye. That was Owen’s scar(伤疤) he got from a fall out of a tree in the Grade Three.
“Is this Owen?” I whispered(低声说).
“Yes,” the teacher said softly.
Face after face, all of them were my friends. And I learned them with my hands.
Finally I reached for the last one. It was different—older, lines around the eyes, a kind smile.
“This must be Mrs. Miller,” I said excitedly.
I heard her take a deep breath. “Yes. It’s me.”
I touched her face again and I could feel the laugh lines and kindness were written all over her face. This was the woman who had taught me for four years. And this was the first time I truly knew her face.
Under each face were their names carved(雕刻) by the words carefully. “Sarah Smith” is under Sarah’s face, “Owen Brown” is under Owen’s face and “Kate Miller” is under Mrs. Miller’s face. In this way, we would always remember each other’s names.
Tears rolled(滚动) down my face. At that moment, I could finally “see” all my friends and so could they.
31. Which picture best shows the writer’s feeling according to paragraph 1?
A. B. C. D.
32. How did Owen get his scar?
A. He had a bike accident. B. He fell out of a tree.
C. He was caught in a fire. D. He was born with it.
33. What do we know about the writer from the text?
A. She always felt lonely at school.
B. She forgot her friends’ names.
C. She truly expected her new life.
D. She was in a school for the blind.
34. What does the underlined word “they” refer to in the last paragraph?
A. The names. B. My friends. C. My teachers. D. The bumps.
35. What is the text mainly about?
A. Kindness can be felt, not just seen.
B. Friends should always stay together.
C. Good memory requires careful practice.
D. Graduation is full of tears and laughter.
C
Ten-year-old Lila loved her community garden. But one morning, she saw that the tomato plants’ leaves had turned yellow. “They’re just tired,” said Mr. Rossi, the old gardener. Lila didn’t think so and looked worried. She’d read books about plants needing good soil (土壤). What if the soil itself was sick?
At home, Lila looked through the recycling bin for small glass bottles. She boiled red cabbage leaves, creating the purple water she learned about in science class—a natural pH test. With a spoon, she put soil from different garden places into the bottles. Her hands shook as she poured cabbage water into each bottle.
The water of two bottles turned pink. “Acidic (酸性的) soil!” she thought to herself.
The water of the other bottles stayed purple—healthy soil.
The next day, Lila walked to Mr. Rossi with her bottles. “We need to add eggshell (蛋壳) pieces to make the soil less acidic,” she said. The gardener stared at her colorful bottles. “Those colors don’t grow tomatoes, kid.”
Not giving up, Lila collected eggshells from her family’s kitchen, broke them into very tiny pieces with kitchen tools, and filled a candy box. That night, she walked into the moonlight garden, spreading the tiny pieces around the sick plants like fairy dust. For weeks, she checked the soil every day. When the pink stayed, she added coffee grounds (碎渣) from the cafe next door. “Your delicious food!” she told an earthworm (蚯蚓) in the soil.
One hot afternoon, Lila saw tiny green tomatoes forming. With time going by, they turned bright red.
Mr. Rossi stared at the big fruits and asked, “How did you fix them?”
Lila smiled, holding up a bottle of cabbage water. “Science never lies!”
Word spread quickly. Soon, neighbors lined up with yogurt bottles of dirt. Lila taught kids how to make pH tests. She turned the garden into a lab, explaining soil health with chalk on the door.
36. What did Lila notice about the tomato plants?
A. They had grown taller. B. They were full of flowers.
C. Their leaves had become yellow. D. They had no leaves at all.
37. What did Lila add to the soil to help the plants?
A. Red cabbage leaves. B. Eggshells and coffee grounds.
C. Earthworms. D. Some yogurt.
38. Which words can best describe Lila?
A. Serious and polite. B. Caring and humorous.
C. Quiet and strict. D. Helpful and strong-willed.
39. What can we learn from the story?
A. Knowledge is power. B. All that glitters(闪烁) is not gold.
C. Lost time is never found again. D. Well begun is half done.
40. What is the best title for the text?
A. Old Gardener, New Tricks. B. Science in the Soil: Lila’s Garden Fix.
C. Mr. Rossi’s Kitchen Secret. D. A Young Gardener’s Dream.
D
Do you like blueberries? If so, the next time you’re about to eat your delicious berries, take a good look at them. Then ask yourself: Are blueberries really blue?
For the most part, blueberries aren’t blue. If you carefully take off the skin of one blueberry, you’ll see that the flesh (果肉) inside is white. If you rub (摩擦) the inside of the skin on a white piece of paper, you’ll see a reddish-purple color. And if you gently rub the outside of a blueberry, the blue color disappears and the berry looks almost black. But the moment you pick one, it does look blue. What’s going on?
Well, there are two ways to create colors. The first is through pigments (色素). Pigments show the color of the light they don’t take in. The most common pigment in plants is chlorophyll (叶绿素), a green pigment. Plant leaves appear green because chlorophyll doesn’t take in green light. It sends green light out instead while taking in blue and red light. Plants prefer to take in blue light because it has more energy than red light (though violet light has even higher energy). In fact, there aren’t any “true blue” pigments in the plant world.
The second way to make color is through “structural color”. This happens when the structure (结构) of a surface makes some colors of light look different. Have you ever seen the rainbow colors on a CD? These colors show up because of the tiny spaces between the disk’s (光盘) thin layers (层). These spaces only allow certain colors to reach our eyes.
Blueberries also create “structural color” in their own way. The berries look black when they’re ripe (成熟的), but the plants build a thin layer of wax (蜡) on their outside. This layer is only four-thousandths of a centimeter thick, but it gives the berries their blue look. The blue color benefits the plants because birds are attracted to the rare (罕见的) color. They eat the berries and spread the seeds far and wide.
Now your bowl of blueberries suddenly looks a lot more interesting. The fruit is beautiful, but its beauty is only skin deep!
41. The author wrote this article mainly to explain ________.
A. why blueberries appear blue B. how blueberries got their name
C. why blue is rare in the plant world D. how blueberries spread their seeds
42. According to the article, after you gently rub the outside of a blueberry, it almost looks ________.
A. blue B. reddish-purple C. white D. black
43. According to the article, blueberries appear blue because of ________.
A. a special blue pigment B. a layer of wax on their outside
C. a special chemical in their flesh D. a shortage of chlorophyll on their leaves
44. Blueberries appear blue in the same way that ________.
A. a CD appears colourful B. a tree leaf appears green
C. they appear black when ripe D. a fallen leaf appears yellow
45. What benefit does the blue colour of blueberries provide for the plant?
A. It protects the plant from insects.
B. It makes the fruit stand out at the market.
C. It attracts birds to help spread the seeds.
D. It helps the plant survive on a warming planet.

In today’s world, we use the Internet for many things, but it’s not the only place where our private information is used. When we’re busy with daily tasks, sharing personal things like our names, addresses, or phone numbers is as simple as making a shopping list. Whether we’re online or using other ways to communicate, we must take steps to protect our information.
When we’re online, always be careful. Only visit safe websites ---- look for “https” in the address bar. Never share passwords (密码), bank numbers, or other important information with anyone we don’t trust. Choose strong passwords for our accounts by using a mix of letters, numbers and symbols. Of course, don’t forget to change them often.
When we’re offline, be wise about sharing information. When we write down our personal information, keep it in a safe place, such as a locked drawer. When we throw away paper with our names and addresses, break it into small pieces first so that others can’t read them. When we finish using public computers, make sure to sign out of our accounts.
For our devices (设备), we should always keep them safe. Get updates (更新) when they come out. These updates often fix problems that can make our devices unsafe. They protect against bad programs that might steal our information.
Remember, our personal information is valuable. Small actions can make a big difference in keeping it safe. By being careful and following these habits, we can protect ourselves from risks and enjoy a safer life.

C. Quiet and strict. D. Helpful and strong-willed.
39. What can we learn from the story?
A. Knowledge is power. B. All that glitters(闪烁) is not gold.
C. Lost time is never found again. D. Well begun is half done.

A. Old Gardener, New Tricks. B. Science in the Soil: Lila’s Garden Fix.
C. Mr. Rossi’s Kitchen Secret. D. A Young Gardener’s Dream.
【答案】36. C 37. B 38. D 39. A 40. B

【答案】41. A 42. D 43. B 44. A 45. C

第二段中的句子“If you gently rub the outside of a blueberry, the blue color disappears and the berry looks almost black.”指出,轻轻摩擦蓝莓表皮后,蓝色消失,蓝莓看起来几乎是黑色的。
【43题详解】
第五段中的句子“...the plants build a thin layer of wax on their outside... gives the berries their blue look.”指出,蓝莓看起来是蓝色的原因是其表面有一层薄薄的蜡质层,该蜡层通过结构色原理使其呈现蓝色,而非蓝色色素。
【44题详解】
第四段,结构色产生的原理以光盘(CD)为例:“These colors show up because of the tiny spaces between the disk’s thin layers.”,这与蓝莓表面蜡质层通过结构产生蓝色的原理相同。因此蓝莓呈现蓝色的原理与“光盘呈现彩色”的原理一致。
【45题详解】
第五段中的句子“The blue color benefits the plants because birds are attracted to the rare color. They eat the berries and spread the seeds far and wide.”指出,蓝莓的蓝色会吸引鸟类食用其果实,从而帮助植物将种子传播到更远的地方。

七、阅读表达(共5小题,计10分)
阅读下面短文,根据要求完成各小题。

What’s more, after I finished my draft, it also corrected my mistakes and patiently taught me some excellent expressions. Besides, it even gave me warm encouragement.
