阅读下列短文,从每题的选项中选出最佳选项,并在答题卡上将该项涂黑。
A
All living things feel outside changes, and plants are the same. Unlike animals, plants cannot move or run away, but they have a special ability to sense light touches from nearby plants. When wind blows, plant leaves often touch each other. To find out how plants deal with this touch, scientists did a study on potato plants. They wanted to learn how touch changes plants’ shape, growth and their connections with insects (昆虫).
In the study, scientists chose potato plants for the test. They divided the plants into two groups. For the treated group, they gently touched the leaf tips with a soft brush for 1 minute every day to copy real touch from nearby plants. Another group of plants was left untouched as the control group.
After more than two weeks, scientists carefully measured (测量) the plants’ weight, the number of small hairs on leaves, and the special gases (气体) they sent out. They also did a test to find out whether pests liked the smell of touched plants or untouched ones better. They chose aphids, a common plant—eating insect that is bad for plants.
The results were very clear. Touched plants grew shorter and stronger. The number of small hairs on their main leaves became much larger. The two groups of plants sent out the same total amount of special gases, but the kinds and amounts of each gas were different. Most importantly, aphids clearly disliked the smell of touched plants and chose to stay with the untouched ones.
This special response (反应) to touch brings great advantages to plants. Shorter and stronger bodies protect plants from strong wind and help them compete for living space. More small hairs on leaves help plants use sunlight and water better. The changed gases also keep harmful insects away. This study offers new ideas for plant living and pest control in farming.

What are insects like in your eyes? Have you ever noticed them? Insects are very interesting animals. They may be small, but they are smart and hard-working. Scientists have studied different kinds of insects very closely. According to their studies, even the smallest insects have tools to help do their work.
Have you ever seen a little fly called a sawfly? It gets such a name because it has a saw (锯子) that is used on plants to create a safe space for its eggs. After laying its eggs, the sawfly makes some glue. The glue fixes the eggs to where they are laid.
Another insect that has its own natural tool is the poppy bee. The bees live in wood. Like people who make things out of wood, poppy bees use special tools to dig nests out of wood. They dig and clean out the nest to make it ready for use. When all is ready, poppy bees cut out pieces of leaves in the shape of a nest. They then join the pieces together and put them into the nest.
Ants are also known for their clever use of natural tools. For example, they drop pieces of leaves into water so that they take in the water. Then the ants carry them back to their nests. There are more insects than any other living things in the world. Every insect is special. The more you notice them, the more they will surprise you.
6.What are insects like according to the first paragraph?
A.Small and lazy. B.Small but smart. C.Big and strong. D.Interesting but weak.
7.Why is the small fly named “sawfly”?
A.Because it can make saws for plants. B.Because it uses a saw to protect its eggs.
C.Because it looks like a small saw. D.Because it likes playing with a saw.
8.Where do poppy bees build their nests?
A.In the leaves. B.In the water. C.In the wood. D.In the grass.
9.What can we infer about insects from the passage?
A.Insects know how to use tools smartly. B.All insects live and play in water.
C.Insects are the strongest animals on Earth. D.Scientists know little about insects.
10.What is the main idea of the passage?
A.Insects are small and easy to find.
B.Different insects have different living places.
C.Insects are special and good at using natural tools.
D.Ants are the cleverest insects in the world.
【答案】6.B 7.B 8.C 9.A 10.C

Nowadays, AI guides can already help tourists find what they need during their trips in China.
Wu Hongbo, a visitor from Dalian, recently used AI to plan a tour of Shanxi. By telling the AI app about the city he wants to visit, dates, interests and how much he can spend, he got a week-long plan made just for him. As a martial arts novel fan, Wu had long yearned for visiting Yanmen Pass, a part of the Great Wall in his favorite stories. The app suggested just that, with other cool cultural places and local dishes made for his interests. “This AI plan surprised me,” Wu said. “The suggestions were just what I like, and helped me know more about Shanxi.
As travelers look for trips that meet their personal interests, AI guides are helping to make travel planning faster and of higher quality. On China’s social media, such as “DeepSeek’s five-day Shandong travel plan” and “AI-helped two-day Chengdu trip” are becoming more and more popular. During a trip, an AI tour guide can also give real-time tour guide services. It acts like a personal guide, giving details on the historical stories, cultural meanings and special features behind the attractions.
Liu Xilei, a visitor from Hebei province, did not pay a human tour guide when he visited the Jinci Temple in Taiyuan. Instead, he used the AI chatbot Doubao as his tour guide. “I learned a lot about the background of the temple, as well as its building features and cultural value,” Liu said. Travel app in China has even started an AI local guide activity. It invites long-term people, those who have lived in a place for over five years, to help train its AI guides, giving each AI guide a special local touch. For example, Fujian’s AI guide shows hidden food shops, while Guizhou’s AI guide finds the best spicy (辣的) food.
These AI tour guides show the spirit of a city. In the future, AI tour guides are thought to work with human guides, together giving higher quality and more personal travel services to make travel even more exciting.
11.Which of the following can take the place of “yearned for” in the text?

Have you ever wondered what else you can do on the train besides sleeping or scrolling through your phone? Actually, in China, trains have turned into centers which bring together the public and the nation’s intangible cultural heritage (ICH,非物质文化遗产).
Trains go across China and they are becoming ideal places for introducing local traditional culture. A good example is the K7041 train from Harbin to Mohe in Northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province. On the ICH train, Gulayier, dressed in traditional clothes, sang Oroqen folk songs and his partner played the Oroqen jaw harp, a musical instrument. Tourists on the train, especially those from southern China, sang and danced excitedly with the two performers together. Gulayier said the train made it easier to hold tourists’ attention to his shows. He thought the train was a good platform for promoting ICH.
Traditional heritage comes to life on trains. More ICH such as Qinhuai lanterns from Nanjing, Yulin puppet shows, and tea-picking operas in Guangxi have also made appearances on high-speed trains across China. It offers passengers a close-up way to experience traditional culture.
Professor Xiao Fang from Beijing Normal University shares Gulayier’s opinion on the new use of ICH trains. He has pointed out another advantage of this. Beyond cultural promotion, it offers help for tourism. When passengers enjoy local traditions on board, they often develop a deeper interest in exploring the places they pass through.
However, the ICH train journeys still have challenges, including the narrow space on trains and passengers getting on and off at each station. Therefore, some solutions are coming up—cultural corners show traditional arts, and QR codes connect to more digital information. These help passengers to explore ICH at their own pace and continue learning after their journey ends.
The success of ICH trains offers valuable lessons for cultural protection worldwide, proving that innovation (创新) and tradition can work together to keep cultural heritage alive for future generations.
16.What is the fresh experience for passengers on the K7041 train?
A.Travelling farther north. B.Joining in live shows.
C.Wearing traditional clothes. D.Having fun on the phone.
17.What does the underlined word “platform” in Paragraph 2 probably mean?
A.A special kind of train car for ICH shows.
B.A type of train ticket for cultural activities.
C.A raised surface for performers to stand on.
D.A place or opportunity to share and promote something.
18.What do Gulayier and Professor Xiao both agree on?
A.ICH encourages more local visits.
B.Trains help make ICH more popular.
C.ICH improves the Chinese train journeys.
D.Passengers welcome performers on ICH trains.
19.What does paragraph 5 mention about the ICH train journeys?
A.Their features and influence. B.Their reasons and results.
C.Their problems and methods. D.Their future and improvement.
20.What can be the best title for the passage?
A.Trains push China’s intangible cultural heritage further.
B.China puts arms around local artists on ICH trains.

At home, I argued with my parents about practising — or rather, not practising — because I preferred 48 (play) football, watching TV or hanging out with my friends. They always said, “Don’t give up. When you’re 49 (old), you’ll want to play.” At this time, I think I also heard the idea that professional musicians spent 6,000-10,000 hours practising to get to that level. I hardly practised an hour a week, so 50 (real), why do it at all? In the end, my parents gave up arguing with me and I gave up playing music — as many kids do.
I did have one good music teacher. Mr. Walker ran the primary school choir (合唱队). He was quite strict 51 getting things right, but he chose some cool songs and he enjoyed 52 (him). I loved his lessons. However, at the end of the year there was a school musical and only 53 best singers got a part — and I didn’t! I was so disappointed! At secondary school, there was even more competition for the choir, so I didn’t even try.
Despite these 54 (experience), I actually liked music. I mean, I listened to it, I 55 (sing) in the shower, I went to concerts.
【答案】
46.and 47.had chosen 48.playing 49.older 50.really 51.about 52.himself 53.the 54.experiences 55.sang
固定搭配be strict about doing sth表示“对做某事要求严格”,故此处需填介词about。
根据“...best singers got a part”可知,形容词最高级前面需加定冠词the。

A
All living things feel outside changes, and plants are the same.

A.cared for B.looked for C.waited for D.longed for
12.What does Paragraph 3 mainly talk about?

A.Wu Hongbo used AI to plan a tour of Shanxi.
B.These AI tour guides show the spirit of a city.
C.AI guides can give real-time tour guide services.
D.Liu Xilei visited Jinci Temple without a human guide.
14.Jack wants to travel to Henan. In which way could the AI guide help him, according to the text?
A.By giving him a real-time tour guide service.
B.By helping him find a human guide in Henan.
C.By inviting him to join an AI local guide activity.
D.By training a local person to be his personal guide.
15.What would probably be written after the last paragraph?
A.The disadvantages of AI tour guides.
B.The history of AI technology in travel.
C.The cost of using AI tour guides in China.

When I was ten, my parents paid for piano lessons, despite me showing no talent or interest. Every week, I went to my teacher’s house 46 sat at the piano, not wanting to be there and not wanting to play the boring tunes she 47 (choose).
