Chinese table manners have a long history and are an important part of Chinese culture. When having a meal with others, there are some basic rules to follow.

Also, you shouldn’t make loud noises while eating, like chewing with your mouth open or burping loudly. If you need to leave the table during the meal, you should say “Excuse me” to others.
Now, many young people still keep these manners, especially when eating with family or at formal dinners. They believe good table manners show respect to others.

Good manners are important in every country, but different countries have different ideas about good manners.
In China, it’s polite to give gifts to friends or relatives when visiting them. The gifts don’t need to be expensive, but they should be wrapped nicely. When receiving a gift, you shouldn’t open it immediately; you should wait until the guest leaves.
In the United States, however, people usually open gifts right away in front of the giver to show they like it. Also, in the US, it’s polite to call someone by their first name, even if they are older than you. But in China, it’s more polite to call someone by their title, like “Mr.” or “Miss”.

My favorite etiquette custom is the Spring Festival greeting in China. It takes place during the Spring Festival holiday. On this occasion, we visit our relatives and elders, say lucky words like "Wish you good health", and receive red envelopes. I love it because it makes me feel the warmth of family and pass on our traditional culture.
