Once upon a time, a little mouse was running around when it accidentally woke up a sleeping lion. The angry lion caught the mouse and was about to eat it. The mouse pleaded, “Please, Mr. Lion. If you spare me, I might be able to help you someday.” The lion laughed at the idea but let the mouse go.Later, the lion got caught in a hunter's net. Just
as he was struggling hopelessly, the mouse came along. Using its sharp teeth, the mouse gnawed through the ropes and set the lion free. From then on, the lion realized that even the smallest creatures can be of great help.
Long ago, Zhang Sengyou, a great painter, was asked to paint dragons on a temple wall. He painted four lifelike dragons but left out their eyes. People were curious. Zhang said the dragons would fly away if he added eyes. No one believed him.
Finally, he dotted eyes on two dragons. Suddenly, thunder roared, and the two dragons flew into the sky. The story shows details matter and Zhang's amazing painting skills.
Once, an old man's horse ran away. His neighbors pitied him, but he thought it might be a blessing. Later, the horse returned with another horse. When everyone congratulated him, he remained calm. Soon, his son got hurt riding the new horse. But this saved his son from war.
