DNA is a special part inside every cell (细胞). It tells the cell what to be—part of a human, an animal, or a plant. Here’s a way to see your own DNA!
What you’ll need
♦A clear cup ♦A spoon ♦Salt
♦Dish soap (洗洁精) ♦Isopropyl alcohol (酒精)
The most important! Ask adults to help deal with alcohol!!!
What to do
Put on your safety glasses-we’re about to do some chemistry!
♦Put a half spoon of salt into a glass half full of water.
♦Take a mouthful of the saltwater and keep it in your mouth for a minute, but don’t swallow (吞咽) it.
♦Pour the saltwater back into the glass. The mixture now has some cells from your mouth!
♦Add one drop of dish soap to the saltwater mixture and mix it gently. Try not to make suds (泡沫).
♦Next, ask an adult to slowly pour some drops of isopropyl alcohol down the side of the cup so that it sits on top of the salty soapy water. Don’t shake.
♦In about a minute you should see tiny white, thread-like (线形的) things forming on the top of the alcohol.
This is your DNA!

From May 13 to 15, 2026, US President Trump paid a three-day state visit to China. The two leaders held in-depth and strategic talks on major issues concerning bilateral ties and global development. They agreed to build a constructive and strategically stable relationship, exploring the right way for two major countries to get along.
Both sides reached practical results in economy and trade. They set new rules for cooperation and promised to handle differences calmly rather than letting problems grow. In November 2025, a short video of Shaobo Lake went viral on social media. The blue water of the lake looked just like Sayram Lake in Xinjiang. People quickly named it “Sayram Lake’s Yangzhou Branch.” The video was filmed in Yanhu Village, Fangxiang Town, Hanjiang District.
The video’s popularity surprised Liu Debao, the village’s Party branch secretary. Many tourists even took flights to Yangzhou just to see this beautiful lake with their own eyes.
Behind this success lies Hanjiang District’s continuous efforts to improve the rural environment. Since 2024, Hanjiang has invested 80 million yuan in provincial award funds to carry out a “Provincial Livable, Suitable-for-work, and Beautiful Countryside Area” project. The project connects 15 administrative villages along the 611 Provincial Highway.
The project explores the local culture of “Ancient Hanjiang Water Source and Rich Willow Village” and creates a spatial layout of “one axis, one belt, four zones, and four cores.”
Local villagers have benefited from this project. In Xuxu Village, a young couple named Pan Yinrong and Wang Qin turned an abandoned house into “Siyuan Homestay.” During the May Day holiday, many tourists came to stay and look for childhood memories.
Wayaocun Village is another key stop in this project. It has developed camping tourism. During this year’s May Day holiday, the village received over 3,000 visitors every day. Many villagers who used to work in other cities have returned to start businesses around the camping economy.
“The project connects 15 villages and helps them develop together,” said Gao Yun, a local official. “With better infrastructure and environment, we are creating a beautiful countryside where ecology is healthy, industries are strong, and people live happily.”
38. Why did tourists come to Yangzhou according to the passage?
A. To visit the 611 Provincial Highway.
B. To see Shaobo Lake which looked like Sayram Lake.
C. To attend a camping festival in Wayaocun.
D. To meet the village Party branch secretary.
39. How much money has Hanjiang District invested in the countryside project?
A. 8 million yuan. B. 80 million yuan. C. 800 million yuan. D. 3,000 yuan.
40. What does the underlined phrase “went viral” in Paragraph 1 most likely mean?
A. Became a serious disease B. Spread very quickly online
C. Disappeared from the internet D. Was deleted by the government
41. What can we infer about the future development of the 15 villages from Gao Yun’s words?
A. Each village will develop in exactly the same way.
B. The project will stop after achieving short-term success.
C. The villages will continue to develop together in a healthy and sustainable way.
D. Only villages along the highway will be included in the project.

A Chinese motorcycle brand has made history. Last weekend, ZXMOTO secured two straight victories at the Superbike World Championship in Portugal. It was a monumental achievement for the brand in a sport long dominated (称霸) by European and Japanese giants.
The story behind ZXMOTO is as inspiring as its victory. The brand was founded by Zhang Xue, a self-taught motorcycle enthusiast from a small village in Hunan Province. At 16, he started working in a repair shop. By 17, he had opened his own. At 19, he pursued a television crew for over 100 kilometers in the rain—just to appear on screen—a bold move that helped him land a spot on a racing team. After co-founding another motorcycle company in 2017, Zhang decided to venture out on his own in 2024. Less than two years later, his motorcycles stood on the world podium (领奖台).
When the victory came, Zhang burst into tears thousands of miles away in Chongqing. “It is not about chasing a trophy,” he later posted online. “It is about loving the ride. And that, perhaps, changes everything.”
Industry experts said the victory proves how far Chinese manufacturing (制造业) has advanced. “For China to win both rounds in a world championship on a domestically developed production bike—that’s a first,” said Zhang Duo, senior editor at Motorcycle magazine.
The company invested nearly 70 million yuan in research and development in 2025, even though it reported a loss. But the gamble is beginning to yield results. After the championship win, orders for ZXMOTO motorcycles surged to over 5,500 units within days. The company is now valued at about 1.09 billion yuan.
For Zhang Xue, the victory is merely the starting point. His ambition for the next five years is to capture more than half of the large-displacement motorcycle market currently held by international brands. “Instead of competing on price, we are moving into the premium segment with superior performance and cutting-edge technology,” he said.
42. What first helped Zhang Xue enter the world of racing?
A. Opening his own repair shop at 17.
B. Pursuing a TV crew in the rain as a teenager.
C. Co-founding a motorcycle company in 2017.
D. Winning a championship in Portugal last weekend.
43. Why did Zhang Xue start his own company in 2024 after co-founding another in 2017?
A. Because his first company went bankrupt.
B. Because he wanted to venture out on his own.
C. Because he was fired from his job.
D. Because he moved to another country.
44. What does Zhang Duo mean in Paragraph 4?
A. Chinese motorcycles are still behind global brands.
B. Winning with a Chinese-made bike is a historic moment.
C. Foreign brands no longer dominate the motorcycle market.
D. The victory was mainly due to the rider’s excellent skills.
45. Which of the following best reflects the message of the story?
A. Victory belongs to those who compete on price.
B. Passion alone can guarantee success in business.
C. A clear goal and strong will are key to achievement.
D. Success requires both love for what you do and wise investment.

Before being selected, she worked in the Hong Kong Police Force. During their stay, the crew will conduct more than 100 science experiments in areas such as space life science, materials science, and aerospace medicine. They will also perform spacewalks and cargo transfers.

例文:
It’s OK Not to Be Perfect
Nobody in the world is perfect, including me.
I used to be deeply upset about my poor English speaking skills and was even afraid to open my mouth in class.Once, my English teacher asked me to give a short speech about my hobby. My hands shook as I spoke, and I made several grammar mistakes. But after I finished, my teacher smiled and praised my courage. That warm encouragement made me realize that trying bravely is far more important than being perfect. Now, I practice speaking aloud every morning and take every chance to talk in English. I feel much more confident and happy. So don’t be afraid of your imperfections. They make you human, and the courage to keep improving will make you shine.
May your hard work bloom like flowers in June.
