When it flew around a person, it collected their happiest memories and turned them into light. “But why do I need this?” Leo asked. Grandfather smiled. “Because you’ve stopped noticing what matters. ” Leo didn’t understand. He lived in a smart city where everything was fast—self-driving buses, robot chefs, AI teachers. He had no time to “notice” anything. One day, the drone flew out on its own. Leo followed it to an old park—the only green place left in the city. There, the drone shone brightly. When Leo touched its light, he saw a memory: himself at age five, laughing while his grandfather taught him to fly a paper kite. The wind, the grass, the warmth of the sun—he had forgotten all of it. Over the next few weeks, the drone led Leo to more forgotten moments: baking cookies with his mom, watching stars on the rooftop with his dad, even crying over a dead pet hamster. Each memory glowed like a tiny star. “I didn’t know I had lost these,” Leo whispered. “You didn’t lose them,” Grandfather said. “You just buried them under ‘busy’. ” Leo decided to change. He started spending less time on virtual lessons and more time with real people. He and his dad fixed an old bicycle. He and his mom planted flowers on the balcony. He even named the stray cat near his school—something he had never bothered to do before. The Memory Drone stopped flying away. It rested quietly on Leo’s desk, its light soft and steady. “It has no more forgotten joys to find,” Grandfather explained. “Because you are now living them.” 11.What makes the Memory Drone different from common ones? A.It can move much faster in the sky. B.It can record both sights and feelings. C.It can talk with humans freely. D.It can clean up city air pollution. 12.Why did Grandpa give Leo the special drone? A.To help Leo finish hard school tasks. B.To remind Leo of lost precious moments. C.To teach Leo to fly paper kites well. D.To take photos of the modern smart city. 13.What did the drone help Leo find again? A.New ways to take online classes. B.Sweet past moments he once forgot. C.The quickest roads in the big city. D.Names of cooks in robot restaurants. 14.What kind of change did Leo go through? A.He spent more time on virtual classes. B.He hoped to get a more clever drone. C.He began to value real life experiences. D.He chose to live in another new city. 15.What can we learn about true happiness from the story? A.It lies in high-end modern technology. B.It hides in small warm moments with family. C.It can only be kept by smart machines. D.It has nothing to do with daily life. 根据文中“Unlike ordinary drones, this one could record not just images, but feelings.” 从“Because you’ve stopped noticing what matters.” He started spending less time on virtual lessons and more time with real people.”(Leo决定改变。 B In the digital (数字) age, teenagers spend more time than ever on electronic devices (设备)—phones, pads and computers. But have you ever wondered how screen time influences reading speed? A recent study explored this question.   Researchers divided a total of 300 middle school students into four groups based on (基于) their average daily screen time: Group 1 (less than 1 hour), Group 2 (1-2 hours), Group 3 (2-3 hours) and Group 4 (more than 3 hours). Students from different grades and schools were chosen to make the results more scientific. All students were given the same 500-word passages to read, and their reading speed, tested in words per (每) minute, (WPM) was recorded. During the test, students were not allowed to use any electronic tools, ask for help, or discuss with their classmates. They were also required to finish reading the passage within 10 minutes.   The study showed a clear link between screen time and reading speed. Group 1 had an average reading speed of 180 WPM, while Group 2 reached 155 WPM. Group 3 dropped to 120 WPM, and Group 4 was the slowest at only 90 WPM. Experts explained that long screen time makes people get used to short, fast-paced (快节奏的) information like short videos, which weakens (削弱) their ability to pay attention to longer, more difficult texts for long periods. This not only slows reading speed but also harms the ability to understand the text’s deeper meaning.   However, the study also pointed out that not all screen time is bad for reading skills. Spending 30 to 60 minutes a day reading e-books can actually improve vocabulary (词汇量) and reading speed. The key is to balance screen time with offline reading activities. Teachers and parents are advised to guide students to make reasonable plans for screen time instead of just stopping the use of electronic devices. 16.Why did the researchers choose students from different grades and schools? A.To get more support for the study. B.To make the result believable and fair. C.To let more people be interested in the study. D.To compare students who read at different levels. 17.Which of the following can show the relationship between WPM and daily screen time? A. B. C. D. 18.Why does long screen time slow down reading speed? A.It makes people avoid reading long and difficult texts. B.It makes people get used to short and fast information. C.It takes up much time in understanding the video deeply. D.It makes people lose their interest in watching short videos. 19.How does the writer organize the text? A.By telling a story and explaining a rule. B.By asking a question and showing a study. C.By introducing a tool and describing its use. D.By comparing two objects and showing the result. 20.What might the writer talk about next? A.Types of electronic devices for students. B.Differences between e-books and paper books. C.Ways to balance screen time and offline reading. D.Examples of plans with more screen time than reading time. 第二段指出“Students from different grades and schools were chosen to make the results more scientific.”,研究者选择不同年级和学校的学生是为了使结果更科学,即可信且公正。 17. Group 2... 155 WPM... Group 3... 120 WPM... Group 4... 90 WPM”,随着每日屏幕时间的增加,平均阅读速度(WPM)呈现下降趋势。图表应能体现这种负相关关系。 18.第三段指出“Experts explained that long screen time makes people get used to short, fast-paced information... which weakens their ability to pay attention to longer, more difficult texts for long periods.”,长时间面对屏幕会使人们习惯于短平快的信息,从而削弱其长时间专注阅读较长、较难文本的能力,导致阅读速度下降。 19.第一段指出“But have you ever wondered how screen time influences reading speed?”,随后通过“A recent study explored this question.” C Dr. Demis Hassabis is a top AI scientist and the CEO of Google DeepMind. He spoke at an old Roman theater in Athens, Greece. He shared an important thought: “learning how to learn” will be the most useful skill for young people in the future. He explained that artificial intelligence (AI) is growing very fast. It is changing our lives so quickly that we can hardly guess what the world will be like in ten years. But one thing is sure: big changes are coming. To get used to these changes, students need to develop meta-skills (元技能). These are skills that help them learn how to learn. For example, they should know how to study new subjects well and quickly, use their time in a smart way, and think carefully. With these abilities, they can keep learning all their lives. AI can help people work faster and solve hard problems. But depending too much on AI weakens students’ ability to learn and create. Students should learn to think by themselves and make their own learning abilities better. Many schools around the world are now getting students ready for a future led by AI. They are giving AI-related courses and encouraging students to look into new technologies. The goal is to help young people become creative and confident learners. In short, as AI keeps developing, the ability to learn how to learn will become more and more necessary. By learning this skill well, students can stay interested in new things, accept changes, and succeed in the future. 21.What is the writing purpose of the passage? A.To introduce Dr. Demis Hassabis’ work experience B.To tell us it is important to learn how to learn. C.To list all the AI-related courses in schools D.To compare AI’s advantages and disadvantages 22.Which of the following is not a meta-skill according to the passage? A.Winning a science competition B.Review and summary after the class C.Think carefully in exams. D.Making a simple weekly study plan to arrange study time. 23.Why does the author write about “AI’s advantages and disadvantages” in Paragraph 4? A.Show that AI is not important for students. B.Stress the importance of students’ own learning abilities. C.Explain why AI is developing so fast. D.Compare AI with human beings’ thinking. 24.Why do many schools offer AI-related courses? A.To help students get ready for a future led by AI. B.To make students win the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. C.To let students depend more on AI in daily life. D.To train students to be top AI scientists. 25.According to the passage, what might Dr. Demis Hassabis agree? A.AI will make young people’s learning easier without any effort. B.Young people must master “learning how to learn” to adapt to the future. C.Meta-skills are useless for people after they leave school. D.AI will not bring any changes to people’s daily lives. 通读全文可知,文章第一段引出 Demis Hassabis 博士的观点“learning how to learn”will be the most useful skill,随后段落围绕为何需要这一技能、什么是元技能、学校如何做以及总结其重要性展开。 22.根据第三段“These are skills that help them learn how to learn. For example, they should know how to study new subjects well and quickly, use their time in a smart way, and think carefully.” 23.第四段提到“AI can help people work faster... But depending too much on AI weakens students’ability... Students should learn to think by themselves...”。 24.根据第五段“Many schools around the world are now getting students ready for a future led by AI. They are giving AI-related courses...” 25.根据第一段Hassabis 博士分享的观点“learning how to learn will be the most useful skill for young people in the future”以及最后一段的总结,可以推断他同意年轻人必须掌握“学会学习”的技能以适应未来。 Every day, it seems, a new tool helps me run farther and faster, sleep longer, or keep my heart healthy. 26 Maybe some of them really help, but I still decided to sell all my sports tools a few months ago. 27 Soon after, I started to train for a long race the old way, without anything on my wrist telling me how fast I ran or my heart rate. As it turned out, running without all that information was a great pleasure. In the past, whenever I ran slower than my watch said I should, I’d push myself to go faster, even if my body didn’t want to. 28 Many times, when I looked at my notes after key runs, I was shocked to see real progress—running much faster than I thought I could. If I’d seen them on the tool during the run, I would have slowed down. But because I didn’t know them, I just kept running. 29 Since I no longer feel like I need technology to run well, I can go out and run without worrying about whether it has enough power. So, what’s the lesson here? We could easily use writing, studying, or anything else instead of running. No matter what it is, the more time we spend worrying about how to get better at something, the more our results are influenced. 30 A.But this time, I ran the way I liked. B.It makes me a “better me,” or so people say. C.I decided to buy a new watch to record my running times. D.I simply wrote down my running times with a pen and paper. E.Another good thing is that it helps me focus on the running itself. F.However, if I were asked that question, I’d surely say I’m better off without it. 根据文章第1段“Every day, it seems, a new tool helps me... keep my heart healthy.” B“It makes me a ‘better me,’ or so people say.” 27.根据文章第2段“I still decided to sell all my sports tools a few months ago.”以及后文“Soon after, I started to train for a long race the old way”可推知作者卖掉工具后采用了旧方法记录数据。选项 D“I simply wrote down my running times with a pen and paper.” 28.根据文章第3段“In the past, whenever I ran slower than my watch said I should, I’d push myself to go faster...” A“But this time, I ran the way I liked.” 29.根据文章第5段“Since I no longer feel like I need technology to run well...” E“Another good thing is that it helps me focus on the running itself.” 30.根据文章第6段“So, what’s the lesson here?” F“However, if I were asked that question, I’d surely say I'm better off without it.” 31 Eric wants to practice his English speech and check how it sounds. 32 Tom is looking for music that matches the different scenes of his school play. 33 Jack needs to organize his ideas for a group project and present them clearly. 34 Sally needs some writing suggestions for her English article on “Environmental Protection”. 35 Lily wants to design special posters for a school event, but she only has some ideas right now. Su Qin told me to give you 45 hand.” Zhang Yi then realised that he had been wrong. Only a true friend like Su Qin knew what was best for him. 36.their 37.classmates 38.have achieved 39.to try 40.angrily 41.smarter 42.so 43.With 44.helpful 45.a 【导语】本文讲述了战国时期苏秦与张仪的故事。 For all these years是现在完成时的标志,主语you搭配助动词have ,achieve的过去分词是achieved。 39. 固定搭配decide to do sth.“决定做某事”,所以用to try。 40. 固定搭配give sb. a hand“帮助某人”,所以用不定冠词a。 1. B In the digital (数字) age, teenagers spend more time than ever on electronic devices (设备)—phones, pads and computers. C Dr. Every day, it seems, a new tool helps me run farther and faster, sleep longer, or keep my heart healthy. 31 Eric wants to practice his English speech and check how it sounds.
