知识点1 单个分词作前置定语
单个现在分词作前置定语,表示一个主动的、正在进行的动作。
The running water flows down from the mountain.
奔流的溪水从山上淌下来。
A flying eagle spotted a small rabbit in the grass.
一只飞翔的雄鹰发现了草丛里的小兔子。
1.现在分词doing作定语,表示一个主动的、正在进行的动作;being done作定语,则表示一个被动的、正在进行的动作。
The damaged car being repaired at present will be available in two days.
正在维修的故障轿车两天后就能使用。
2.对比:不定式作定语表示一个将要发生的动作;过去分词作定语表示一个被动、已发生的动作。

现在分词短语修饰名词作后置定语,表示一个主动的、正在进行的动作。
Can you see the boy waiting for the bus at the gate?

知识点3 某些现在分词主动表被动
measure, weigh表示“测量起来……长”,“称起来……重”,作定语只能用现在分词形式。

知识点1 现在分词(短语)直接作状语
1. 现在分词短语作状语用来修饰主句的动作或状态,通常表示时间、原因、条件、让步、伴随、方式、结果等逻辑关系。其逻辑主语通常与主句的主语保持一致,且与主句之间常用逗号隔开。
They risk exploring the remote mountain to record local culture.
他们冒险深入偏远山区记录本土文化。
I fancy visiting the space museum this summer vacation.
今年暑假我想去参观航天博物馆。
1.现在分词doing作状语,其逻辑主语必须与句子主语保持一致,否则构成逻辑错误。
Walking along the street, I saw many beautiful flowers. (分词逻辑主语I和主句主语一致)
走在街上,我看到了许多漂亮的花。
The fire lasted nearly a week, leaving nothing valuable. (分词逻辑主语fire和主句主语一致)
大火持续近一周,没留下任何值钱的东西。
2. 例外:judging from/by....根据……判断,Generally speaking一般来说,Considering.....考虑到等短语常被视为插入语,其逻辑主语可以与句子主语不一致。
Judging from his expression, he has known the whole truth.
从他的神情判断,他已经知晓了全部真相。
Generally speaking, people prefer quiet places to noisy streets.
通常来讲,比起喧闹街道,人们更喜欢安静的地方。
Considering the tight time, we have to simplify our original plan.
考虑到时间紧张,我们不得不简化原定方案。
知识点2 Having done形式作状语
如果现在分词表示的动作先于谓语动词动作发生,应用having done形式,强调主动性和先后性。
Having learned carving for years, he can create wonderful wooden art pieces.
修习木雕多年,他能够创作出精美的木雕艺术品。
Having been trained properly, the young craftsman mastered basic cutting skills.
经过系统培训,年轻匠人掌握了基础的裁切技艺。
知识点3 现在分词否定式作状语
根据语境需要,有时候需要再现在分词短语前边加上否定词not,表示原因。
Not having access to advanced equipment, the team slowed down their research progress.
缺少先进设备,整个科研小组放缓了项目的研发进度。
Not having finished his experiment, the scientist had to give up the scheduled field trip.
实验尚未收尾,这位科学家只得放弃既定的实地调研。

知识点2 现在分词和过去分词作表语区别
1. 现在分词作表语,多表示主语具备某种性质,翻译为“(事情)令人……”。
His strange words sound puzzling to everyone around him.
他怪异的话语让身边所有人都感到费解。
Long-distance travel can be really tiring in hot summer days.
酷暑时节,长途旅行着实让人疲惫。
2. 过去分词作表语,多表示人的情感,翻译为“(某人)感到……”。
She got annoyed because others interrupted her speech.
有人打断她的发言,这让她有些生气。
He felt embarrassed when he made a silly mistake in class.

现在分词可以用于“with+名词+现在分词”结构,该结构在句中作状语或定语。用现在分词表示宾语和宾补之间主动关系。
The house with the windows facing south is very warm in winter. (with复合宾语结构作定语)
窗户朝南的那栋房子在冬天很暖和。
The little girl hid behind the door, with her heart /pounding wildly. (with复合宾语结构作伴随状语)

该结构用过去分词表示宾语和宾补之间被动关系;用动词不定式强调将要发生,其逻辑主语往往是句子的主语。

现在分词可以用于“名词+现在分词”,构成独立主格结构,该结构可以与with结构完美替换。用现在分词表示宾语和宾补之间主动关系。

母亲热泪盈眶,紧紧地搂着他们。

知识点1 状语从句省略用法
在状语从句中,为了使语言更加简洁、生动,经常运用省略形式。省略原则:①当从句和主句的主语一致;②且从句的谓语部分有be动词,就可以把从句的主语和be动词省略。
When (I was) walking on the street, she found a nice shining thing on the ground.
走在路上的时候她发现地上有一个好看的、发光的东西。
While (I was) waiting for the bus, I came across my former teacher.
我在等公交车的时候偶遇我以前的老师。
Once (it is) started, the machine will work automatically.
一旦启动,这台机器就会自动运转。
知识点2 before/after后接动词用法
状语从句省略后构成“连接词+现在分词”或者“连接词+过去分词”结构。注意两个易错点:一是利用主被动关系作出选择;二是没有其他它“连接词+to do/being done”等形式。
While walking in the countryside, we enjoyed the fresh air.
走在乡间路上,我们呼吸着清新的空气。
Though defeated, the team never lost faith in themselves.
即便落败,这支队伍也从未失去信心。
如果句首是before或者after,后接动词,只能理解为介词,后接动名词doing或者being done作宾语。
After learning the truth, we all changed our previous opinions.
得知真相后,我们都改变了先前的看法。
