主语These monkeys为复数形式,be动词需用复数形式are。
spend time (in) doing sth.
A.preference B.rise C. raise D.check out E. stutter F. playlist
Music plays an important role in my daily life. I made a cool 11 on my phone for the summer vacation. My 12 is pop music because it always makes me feel happy and energetic.
因为“a cool”后接名词,且与音乐相关,结合上下文“on my phone”和“summer vacation”,选项F. playlist意为“播放列表”,符合语境。
因为“My...is pop music”意为“我的……
因为“when I try to sing English songs too fast”描述快唱时会发生的情况,选项E. stutter意为“结巴”,符合语境。
因为“check out”意为“查看、了解”,常与“a new singer online”搭配,表示上网搜索或试听,选项D. check out意为“查看”,符合语境。
16.Reading books can help us ________ (relax) our mind after study.

句子结构为“Tom is … in studying birds ...
18.Don’t say rude things that may ________ your grandparents. (shocked)

20.My younger sister didn’t pass the Maths exam because she was too ________ (care).
care的形容词形式有careful(仔细的)和careless(粗心的),结合语境应填careless。
21.Gina has her own ________ (think) about the difficult problem.
【答案】thoughts/thought
故填thoughts/thought。
22.We all know riding too fast on the road is _________ (danger).
【答案】dangerous

23.It isn’t harmful when the _______ (branch) and leaves of trees join together.

Was it a hard decision? / Was it difficult?,自然衔接作家的回答。
Why did you make the decision? / How did you make the decision?,符合语境逻辑。

38 , there is a new way to help poor people living in distant areas, and that is by giving money to them directly.
Since 2012, the charity organization Give-Directly has been studying 39 to make the direct money support work better. The charity gives them a one-year budget (预算), spread over several months. They can spend the money on whatever they need, and they never have to pay it back. When Give-Directly tracked how the money was being used, they were glad to find that the Kenyans were using the money 40 .
Many of the families spent the money on new metal roofs to take the place of their old grass roofs. While grass roofs need 41 several times a year, metal roofs last longer and save money. Some bought land and cows for farming or started small businesses, such as buying a used motorcycle to transport people around like a taxi. This helped them to have more money for food, clothing and health care, and give their children an education.
The studies on giving money directly to poor Kenyans are going on. Some people are 42 that some of the families will waste the money or simply become dependent on these donations. Although it’s hard to tell if it is a good idea to give them direct money support, we can all agree that it is a 43 way of helping others.

In the late 1990s, I met Katherine, a smart five-year-old deaf student with long shiny brown hair and bright dark eyes. Her old teacher thought she wouldn’t do well in school, but I found she was strong-minded and very clever. Though good at many subjects, writing was our hardest task—she would completely stop trying whenever she saw pencils.
The big change happened by accident one day when Katherine forgot her backpack on the bus. Not able to use sign language with the office workers, she slowly wrote “PAC BAK” on some paper. That small act showed her how useful writing could be and changed how she felt about it completely.
After that day, Katherine started to love writing. She grew into a wonderful writer, good public speaker, and class leader. She was named Douglas County Rodeo Queen and competed as Miss Deaf Colorado before going to the University of Northern Colorado, where she plans to become a teacher.
Katherine’s story shows how one important moment can open up a person’s hidden abilities. Her experience still gives hope to my deaf students today.
A few weeks ago, she sent me her first lesson plan, titled “Writing as a Voice”. ________
Task 1: Answer the questions.
44.What did young Katherine look like?

Her experience still encourages others.(答案不唯一)

However, trees are facing problems. To protect them, we should plant more trees and stop cutting them down carelessly. Saving paper also helps. For example, we should use both sides of the paper.

Do you know why trees are called our silent giants? They are important to us in many ways. First, they clean the air by taking in carbon dioxide and giving out oxygen. Second, they provide homes for birds and other animals. Also, trees make our world more beautiful.
However, trees are facing problems. To protect them, we should plant more trees and stop cutting them down carelessly. Saving paper also helps. For example, we should use both sides of the paper.
Let’s take action now! Join us to care for these silent giants. A greener world starts with you and me.

There are various ways we can help people in need. Big charity organizations commonly deliver food to hungry people, build homes for the homeless, and volunteer at local charity centers.

45.What specific incident changed Katherine’s attitude toward writing?
46.What did Katherine write to solve her immediate problem?
47.What two special things did Katherine win in school?
48.What is the title of Katherine’s first lesson plan?
Task 2:
49.In about 30 words, write an ending to the story.
