Music Builds Friendship Between China and Brazil
In late April 2026, a group of Brazilian musicians visited Nanning, Guangxi. They came to join the local Sanyuesan Festival, a famous traditional Chinese festival full of music and dance.
During the cultural event, Chinese and Brazilian artists performed the Chinese classic folk song Jasmine Flower together on the open street. Brazilian musicians danced to this soft Chinese music. Many local people stopped to watch and joined them. Soon, all people held hands, made a big circle and danced happily to the music beat. For singer Michelly Gondim, performing a Chinese song was really a challenge. She had to master it in a short time. “It was a wonderful experience. Sharing these cultural elements with Chinese artists is truly special,” she said.
The Brazilian band is Copacabana Fort Orchestra from Rio de Janeiro. They brought lively Brazilian music and mixed it with Chinese folk tunes (曲调).
Marcia, the art director of the band, said music was a universal (全世界的) language. “It is the natural starting point for deeper international understanding. It unites (团结) people. You don’t need to speak the same language to feel it in your heart,” she said.

8. B 9. E
10. F
空格前为定冠词the,后接of所有格,需要填入名词;text意为“文字、文本”,the text of history books表示“历史书的文字内容”,语义通顺。

Emma cut a piece of it with her knife and put it into her mouth. “I love it!” she said. The smell of the dishes and the sound of our laughing ____19____the room.
I felt like I was back home. It was really ____20____ unusual but happy Spring Festival.
11. A. for B. so C. but
12. A. cooks B. cooked C. cooking
13. A. another B. other C. the other
14. A. in B. on C. by
15. A. hung B. was hanging C. is hanging
16. A. surprise B. surprised C. surprising

18. A. shouldn’t B. needn’t C. mustn’t
19. A. fill B. fills C. filled
20. A. a B. an C. the
11. B 12. C 13. A 14. B 15. B 16. B 17. A 18. A 19. C 20. B
前句“Today was the Spring Festival”是原因,后句“I wanted to treat her to a Chinese dinner”是结果。
根据上文“I had never realised cooking was so difficult”可知,作者忙不过来,希望多一双手帮忙。
in“在……
固定句型“would rather (not) do sth.”,意为“宁愿(不)做某事”,后接动词原形。

Some of the increase might be because of better giraffe-tracking (追踪) technology. Experts say that things like stopping traps, teaching local people, and moving giraffes to safe places are really ____22____ (help), too.

21. higher
22. helpful
