10.Among the four actresses, I think the girl with short hair acted ________ in the film.
A.much worse B.the worst C.most badly D.more badly
根据“Among the four actresses,”可知,此处用副词最高级,badly“坏地”,是副词,副词修饰动词,badly的最高级是worst,最高级要加the,故选B。
11.—What do you like ________ about school?
—English, chemistry, music, sports club, school plays…and above all, my friends!
A.best B.favorite C.better D.well
【答案】A
故选A。
12.—________ there anything wrong with your computer?
—Yes, it doesn’t work.
A.Do B.Are C.Is D.Does
考查there be句型。根据“... there anything wrong with your computer?”可知,该句为there be句型,故排除A和D;此处主语为不定代词anything,be动词应用单数is。故选C。
13.The meat on the plate _________ bad! Throw it away.
A.is smelt terrible B.smells terrible C.smells terribly D.is smelt terribly
is smelt terrible表述错误;smells terrible闻起来糟糕;smells terribly闻起来糟糕;is smelt terribly表述错误。
14.Not only Tim but also Sue and I ________ interested in DIY. We often make nice things.
A.am B.are C.was D.were
根据“We often make nice things.”可知句子是一般现在时态;“Not only...but also...”
15.The pair of white trousers ________ nice. Can I ________?
A.is; try it on B.are; try on it C.is; try them on D.are; try on them

Passage 1
Ronan loves to dance. 1 15-year-old California sea lion dances 2 to rock and disco music. Ronan became famous for her dancing about 10 years ago. From age 3, she has been at the University of California. There, scientists found she was good 3 following rhythms (节奏).
A few 4 can dance to a rhythm like humans because they can learn sounds. “Scientists once 5 only animals that could learn sounds—like monkeys and parrots—could follow a beat,” said Hugo, a French scientist. However, Ronan is special because 6 can dance without singing or talking.
But scientists wondered if Ronan could 7 dance after such a long time. A new study shows: Ronan is not just great, and she’s even better than before. In the study, scientists used drum beats. They saw Ronan 8 when a drummer beat the drum in a certain rhythm.
“No 9 animals or humans did better than Ronan in our tests,” said Peter Cook.
Researchers plan to test other sea lions. Cook thinks 10 they can dance too, Ronan will be the best.

be good at意为“擅长”。
根据“after such a long time”可知,此处表示她是否还能保持能力,still意为“仍然”符合语境。
see sb.doing sth.
Passage 2
Last year, our school started a “Music for Everyone” program. The goal was to bring music to children 1 couldn’t afford instruments. Each student in our class was asked to donate a used musical instrument if they had 2 extra at home.
My friend Peter and I discussed what we could do. “I have an old guitar,” Peter said, “but it 3 (need) repairing first.” I remembered my uncle’s violin that had been sitting in the attic for years. By the time we brought these instruments to school, we 4 already cleaned and fixed them with the help of our music teacher.
The program was very successful. So many instruments 5 (collect) that we had to use two classrooms to store them. We then organized a charity concert to raise money for music lessons. Everyone worked hard, and the concert 6 be a great success because the hall was completely full.
7 the large audience, some of the young performers were nervous before the show. But once they started playing, the music carried them away. A girl who used to refuse to speak in public sang a song about breaking free from a 8 . Her voice was so powerful that many people had tears in their eyes.
This experience taught me that music is not just entertainment. It is a gift that can change lives, and every child deserves the chance 9 (experience) it. I now believe 10 (strong) than ever that music should be a treasure available to everyone.

one指代“a+单数可数名词”,这里指“a used musical instrument”,ones指代复数名词,it指代上文提到的同一个事物,所以选one。
“cleaned and fixed them”这个动作发生在“brought these instruments to school”之前,即“过去的过去”,要用过去完成时,其结构是had+过去分词,所以选had。
根据“because the hall was completely full”可知音乐会一定很成功,must表示“一定”,语气较肯定;might表示“可能”;can表示“能够;可以”,这里表示肯定推测用must,所以用must。
“the large audience”和“some of the young performers were nervous before the show”之间是让步关系,In spite of表示“尽管”,符合语境;Because of表示“因为”;Instead of表示“代替”,所以用In spite of。
根据“a girl who used to refuse to speak in public sang a song about breaking free from a...”
the chance to do sth.

they它们;their它们的;them它们。“take”为动词,接代词需用宾格them,指代前文的“CDs”,故用them。故选C。
