1.第七段奥兹说:“‘Go to the land of the Winkies and kill the Wicked Witch of the West!’”,第八段指出:“‘Oh, no!’ Dorothy cries. ‘I don’t want to kill anybody.’”,第十段描述:“Dorothy goes back to her room. She’s very sad. She sits on her bed and cries.”,说明多萝西在床上哭是因为她不想服从奥兹让她去杀人的命令。
2.第一段指出:“Dorothy…She sees a big head in the middle of the room.”,第十二段指出:“The Tin Woodman…he sees a monster. It has five eyes, five hands and five legs.”,最后一段指出:“The Lion opens the door and he sees a big ball of fire.”,说明奥兹面对多萝西、铁皮人和狮子变换了三种不同样貌,没有任何人见到它的真面目。
3.第十三段指出:“‘I am the Tin Woodman. I haven’t got a heart. Can you give me one?’”,说明铁皮人没有心脏,由此可推断他不是一个真正的人。
4.第三段多萝西说:“‘I am Dorothy. I want to go back to Kansas.’”,第十三段铁皮人说:“‘I am the Tin Woodman. I haven’t got a heart. Can you give me one?’”,说明每个人都认为奥兹能够实现自己的愿望。

“The hound!” cried Holmes. “Come, Watson! Come!”
We ran quickly over the moor (荒野). We heard one last cry and then a heavy sound. We stopped and listened, but no other sounds broke the silence. Holmes put his hands to his forehead (前额) and hit his feet on the ground.
“We are too late, Watson.”
“No, no, surely not! Can you see anything?”
“Nothing.”
“But, listen, what is that?”
Suddenly, we heard a low sound of pain. A man was lying on the ground. As we came near, we saw the dead body of Sir Henry Baskerville! He was wearing his brown suit.
“Oh, no!” said Holmes and his face was white with shock. Holmes moved closer to the body. Suddenly, he began laughing. “A beard (胡须)!” he said, “This man has a beard!”
“A beard?”
“It is not Sir Henry. It is the prisoner (囚犯) who got away, Selden!”
Then, suddenly, it was all clear to me. I remembered that Sir Henry had given his old suit to Barrymore, and Barrymore had probably given it to Selden.
“Then Selden is dead because of this suit,” said Holmes. “Think, Watson. Someone gave the dog some of Sir Henry’s clothes—probably the boot from the hotel in London. The dog picked up Sir Henry’s scent and ran after this poor man.”
Suddenly we saw someone walking towards us. It was Stapleton. “Ssshhhh!” Holmes spoke very quietly. “Don’t say a word to show your doubt!”
“Hello, Dr. Watson. What are you doing on the moor?” asked Stapleton. Then he saw the dead body and added, “Oh no! What’s this? Is our dear friend Sir Henry dead?”
Then, he looked at the dead man. “Who... who is this?” he asked.
“It’s Selden, the prisoner. He’s dead.”
Stapleton looked at the body. “That’s terrible,” he said. “There was a strange noise. I was worried about Sir Henry. I wanted to check if he was all right.”
“Really?” asked Holmes.

One autumn morning, my master, John, and I set out on a long journey. The weather was fine, and I felt strong and happy. We had a new cart that was light and rolled smoothly.
On our way, we passed a wooden bridge. A man at the tollgate called out to us, “Be careful! There was a big storm today. The river is rising fast. The bridge may not be safe.”
My master thanked him, but we went on. The road was good, and I walked steadily. We finished our business and started back home. But now the weather had changed. The wind was howling, and rain was falling hard.
As we rode through the woods, there was a loud cracking sound. A great oak tree fell right in front of us! John stopped me just in time. We turned around and took another road.
Soon we reached the wooden bridge. I put my foot on it—then stopped. Something felt wrong. I did not want to go forward.
“Go on, Beauty!” said my master, and he gave a light snap with his whip. But I did not move. I stood still.
Just then, a man came running from the tollgate with a lantern. “Stop!” he shouted. “The middle part of the bridge is gone. The flood carried it away! If you had gone on, you would have fallen into the river!”
My master and John looked at each other. Then John stroked my neck and said, “Good horse! You saved our lives tonight.”
We turned back and took another way home. When we got back, John gave me a warm supper and a soft bed of straw. I had earned my rest.

【导语】本文是一篇记叙文,节选自《黑骏马》,文章以黑骏马的视角讲述了在一个秋日的早晨,黑骏马运用自己的聪明化解了危险的故事。
1.第一段明确提到“One autumn morning, my master, John, and I set out on a long journey.”,这直接表明故事发生在一个秋天的早晨。

“I am covered with gold,” says the prince. “You must take it off, little by little, and give it to the poor. The living always think that gold can make them happy.”
Little by little, the swallow takes off all the gold until the Happy Prince looks gray all over. The swallow gives the gold to the poor, and so the children eat well and they laugh and play games. “We have bread now!” they cry.
Then, the snow comes. The little swallow grows colder and colder, but he will not leave the prince because he loves him so much. He picks up snow to eat and tries to keep himself warm by flapping his wings but soon he knows that he is going to die.
He has just enough strength to fly up to the prince’s shoulder once more. “Goodbye, dear prince,” he says, “will you let me kiss your hand?”
“I am glad that you are going to Egypt at last, little swallow,” says the prince.
“I am not going to Egypt,” says the swallow. “I am going to die of hunger and cold.” He kisses the Happy Prince and falls down dead at his feet.
At that moment, there is a loud sound inside the statue just as the window breaks. The statue’s heart breaks into two.

3.Where does the swallow die at last?

“No, no, surely not! Can you see anything?”
“Nothing.”
