The Farmer Who Lost His Horse
Once upon a time, an old farmer lived near the border. One day, his horse ran away. His neighbours came to comfort him, but the farmer said, "Maybe it's not a bad thing."
A few months later, the horse returned with several wild horses. The neighbours congratulated him, but the farmer said, "Maybe it's not a good thing." Soon after, his son broke his leg while trying to ride one of the wild horses.
Later, war broke out. All the young men were called to fight, but the farmer's son could not go because of his broken leg. Many young men died in the war, but the farmer's son was safe.
