“If I can’t ride the fastest motorbike, I’ll make one,” said Zhang Xue, a Chinese motorbike maker. Years later, he did it. A Chinese motorcycle brand, ZXMoto, won two races in one weekend at the 2026 FIM Supersport World Championship (WorldSSP) (世界超级运动摩托车锦标赛). This was a historic success because ZXMoto is a new company. Its owner, Zhang Xue, was so excited that he cried.
Born into a simple family in a Hunan village, Zhang’s life was tough from the start. His parents divorced (离婚) when he was just 10, leaving him to face life’s challenges early. After middle school, instead of giving up on his dreams, he chose to work in a repair shop. There, he fell in love with motorbikes and started riding them.
At 19, Zhang followed his racing dream bravely. He invited a TV show to film his rides, hoping to join a professional racing team. Even with having only an old bike, he practiced again and again in the rain, falling off many times. But he never once thought about giving up—his strong will pushed him to keep going through many hard days.
Later, Zhang became a racer and decided to build his own motorbikes. For 20 years, he worked hard, overcoming lots of difficulties. Now, his brand ZXMOTO has made history: a rider won two world championship races (锦标赛) on his bikes, breaking the long control of European and Japanese brands since 1988.

Imagine you are shown 10 photos of faces and told that half are real and the other half are made by AI. Can you recognize (识别) the real ones just by looking?
You might think this is an easy task, but a new study shows it is far more challenging than we believe. Today’s AI-generated (生成) faces look surprisingly real, making it difficult for most people to tell the difference.
Researchers tested 125 people to see if they could discover which were AI-made. One-third of them were “super recognizers”—people who are especially skilled at remembering and recognizing faces in daily life. However, in this study, these experts got only 57% correct on average (平均), while the other people got 51% correct, almost no different from blind guessing.
Early AI-generated faces often had clear mistakes and were easy to notice. As AI technology improves rapidly, it has learned from millions of real faces and become much smarter. Besides, there are better ways to make the pictures clear and beautiful. Now AI-generated faces look so perfect that people can hardly tell them from real ones. This has become a growing challenge in our world.
Telling real faces from AI ones is becoming harder every day. “For years, we believed photos showed real people and real situations,” said researcher James Dunn. But now when we look at pictures online, we may no longer trust “Seeing is believing”. We should be more careful with fake (假的) AI images on social media and other websites.
The team plans to study the top performers in the tests and find out the secrets behind their ability to identify AI-generated faces. In the future, they hope to create simple and useful tools to help people tell real faces from AI-generated ones more easily.
43. What does the underlined word “it” in Paragraph 2 refer to?
A. Sharing photos online. B. Looking at the photos.
C. Making Al-generated faces. D. Telling real faces from AI ones.
44. What can we learn about “super recognizers” from the passage?
A. They could perform perfectly in the test.
B. They got 51% correct on average in the test.
C. They like creating different kinds of AI faces.
D. They are especially good at recognizing faces.
45. Which of the following is mentioned in Paragraph 4?
A. When the early AI-generated faces appeared.
B. Why today’s AI faces are hard to recognize.
C. Who will create a new tool for telling AI faces.
D. How many people can easily discover AI faces.
46. What is the main purpose of the future tool mentioned in the last paragraph?
A. To help people create more perfect AI faces.
B. To make it easier to tell real faces from AI ones.
C. To teach people how to become super recognizers.
D. To test how well people can remember faces.
47. What is the best title for the passage?
A. The Amazing AI Technology. B. Can You Tell AI Faces from Real Ones?
C. How to Become a Super Recognizer. D. Useful Tools for Identifying Photos.

If we’ve ever cried during a TV show, we might have been called too emotional (情绪的). But crying is normal, and it can actually be good for us.
Scientists aren’t sure exactly what happens when we cry, but they know it can help us feel better. A study found that 50 percent of people felt happier after crying. Also, when people see us cry, they are more likely to reach out to us.
Professor Ad Vingerhoets, a clinical psychologist (临床心理学家), says that crying makes others feel empathy (同感), so they want to support and be kind to us. “To put it differently, tears help us connect with each other,” Professor Vingerhoets says. Research shows that people who cry are usually seen as warm, nice and honest. They are the kind of person we like as friends, neighbors and co-workers.
While some people might feel worse after crying or get a headache, many feel better. “Crying is our body’s way of letting out feelings,” explains Psychotherapist Anna Mathur. “When we hold a lot of emotions, we can become like a pressure cooker, until our body finds a way to let things go.”
Have you noticed that after crying, you feel calmer? Or that crying after hitting your toe makes the pain go away faster? This is because of your body’s response to crying. “By letting tears go, you are welcoming a release (释放) of happy hormones (荷尔蒙),” says Mathur. Some of them can even make pain feel less strong.
48. How does the writer start the passage?
A. By asking a question. B. By giving an example in daily life.
C. By showing a study result. D. By telling a personal story.
49. What do people usually think of those who cry according to the research?
a. emotional b. honest c. nice d. warm
A. a, b, c B. a, b, d C. b, c, d D. a, b, c, d
50. What can we infer from Anna Mathur’s words about crying?
A. It makes people feel stressed. B. It makes people feel better.
C. It lets the pain go away more slowly. D. It allows people to hold lots of emotions.
51. What is the writer’s attitude toward crying according to the passage?
A. Crying is a sign of weakness. B. Crying is harmful to our health.
C. Crying is a normal and helpful act. D. Crying should be avoided in public.
52. What’s the best structure of this passage?
A. B. C. D.

A. B. C. D.

【答案】例文
Life Skills I Value Most
Life skills play an important role in our growth. Among all the skills, I value cooking, time management, and first aid the most.
I still remember the first time I tried to cook for my parents. I chose to make a simple dish—tomato with eggs. At first, I was nervous and even cut my finger by accident. My mother encouraged me to keep going. After several tries, I finally made it. Seeing the smile on my parents’ faces, I felt so proud.
I no longer need to depend on my parents for meals. It also taught me that patience and practice can lead to success.
