These races are held in urban centers as well as in areas of cultural and natural significance.(亚洲在不同国家和地区举办各种各样的马拉松赛事,这些赛事既有在城市中心举办的,也有在具有文化和自然意义的地区举办的)”,表格列出了四场马拉松的具体信息,最后给出参赛注意事项,可知本文旨在提供亚洲马拉松的相关信息。故选D。 22. The Great Wall of China Marathon The Great Wall of China Marathon。故选B。 23. 根据Things To Think About中“Make sure that you are making accommodations through reputable sites for travel.(确保你通过信誉良好的旅游网站预订住宿)”可知,建议参赛者在参赛前从可信的网站预订酒店。故选A。 B I am one of those people who has two left feet. It is so bad, I can’t even do a basketball lay-up, which really discouraged me from playing the game as a kid. I can’t dance, either. I am such a bad dancer, I made my wife agree I wouldn’t have to dance as part of our wedding. But show me a lawn (草坪) that needs mowing (修剪) and something magical happens. It doesn’t matter if I am on an old-fashioned mower, I feel it! A pattern forms in my mind and I am ready to dance. As a consequence, our front lawn has featured Olympic rings, huge hearts, even a herringbone pattern where I changed the tilt (斜度) on the mower at the end of each row. It looked great, but was too much work to do again. Last fall, we let the back lawn grow and I mowed in winding paths. I am not much of an artist, but our lawns have become my special creation. I am not sure everyone in the family likes the look. I hope calling them grass fields will convince my wife to let me keep them. My mowing habit was featured in the John Deere dealers’ magazine many years back. Actually, twice. The photographers had to stand on tall ladders to get a decent shot. Lawn paths and patterns look great and are fun to create. If you can, cooperate with your neighbors and create a really nice look for the whole neighborhood — circular patterns around trees or street-wide stripes are great options. I urge all readers to give a couple of patterns a try over the next few weeks. Doing so might very well end lawn mowing a tiring job and add a bit of fun to our everyday travels. 24.What can we learn about the author from the first paragraph? A.He has an unusual body shape. B.He once played basketball well. C.He shows great talent in dancing. D.He is awkward in physical activities. 25.What does the author do when he sees a lawn that needs mowing? A.He urges to dance on it wildly. B.He wants to touch it personally. C.He is tired of the old-fashioned mower. D.He feels a creative idea coming to him. 26.How did the author’s mowing habit get recognized? A.His family all spoke highly of his creation. B.His neighbors came to cooperate with him. C.It was reported in a magazine many years ago. D.Photographers took pictures of him while mowing. 27.What message does the text convey? A.Mowing lawns is an art requiring practice. B.Creation can make boring tasks enjoyable. C.Gardening is helpful for improving sports ability. D.Unique lawn patterns can bring neighbors together. 根据第一段中“I am one of those people who has two left feet. It is so bad, I can’t even do a basketball lay-up, which really discouraged me from playing the game as a kid. I can’t dance, either.(我是那种笨手笨脚的人之一。 根据第二段中“But show me a lawn (草坪) that needs mowing (修剪) and something magical happens. It doesn’t matter if I am on an old-fashioned mower, I feel it! A pattern forms in my mind and I am ready to dance.(但是给我看一块需要修剪的草坪,神奇的事情就会发生。 根据第四段中“My mowing habit was featured in the John Deere dealers’ magazine many years back. 通读全文,尤其是根据最后一段“I urge all readers to give a couple of patterns a try over the next few weeks. Doing so might very well end lawn mowing a tiring job and add a bit of fun to our everyday travels.(我敦促所有读者在未来几周内尝试一些图案。 B。 C For 170 years, a hidden law has guided the growth and decline of U.S. cities, a new study reveals. After analyzing huge amounts of historical data, researchers found that American cities follow a remarkably regular pattern. As cities grow and their economies change, for example, from manufacturing to services, they manage to keep a steady level of “economic connection”. This connection measures how closely a city’s different economic activities are related and support each other. This pattern holds true even in regions that developed rapidly. The West Coast, for instance, transformed quickly from its early days during the Gold Rush. In just fifty years, its cities became nearly as economically diverse as those on the East Coast. Despite this fast diversification, their level of economic connection remained stable and similar to that of older eastern cities. This shows that even during periods of major change, cities follow this underlying rule. The study suggests that urban economic transformation is limited. Cities can develop new industries and abandon old ones, but they must do so in a way that doesn’t harm their overall economic structure. For example, cities like Pittsburgh, which shifted from heavy industry to high-tech fields, had to find a new path that maintained stability. This means change is not random but follows a path that keeps the city’s economy coherent. Furthermore, the research discovered a clear link between a city’s size and its economic connection. As cities get larger, their level of connection steadily decreases at a predictable rate. This relationship has remained constant for 170 years, despite massive technological and population growth. It implies that a city’s size sets a natural limit on how diverse its economy can be while still remaining connected. These findings offer important lessons for city leaders. While pursuing new technologies and industries is good, cities must avoid overextending their resources. Larger cities can support a wider range of activities, but every city’s ambitions for diversification are ultimately constrained by its size. Therefore, understanding this “hidden law” can help policymakers create more realistic and effective development plans. 28.What can be inferred about urban economic change? A.It often happens without a clear plan. B.It is mainly driven by technological progress. C.It is faster in smaller cities than in larger ones. D.It requires a balance between new and old activities. 29.How does city size influence its economy? A.City size has little effect on industrial diversity. B.Larger cities are always more economically successful. C.Smaller cities have a higher level of economic connection. D.Only large cities can benefit from new technologies. 30.What is the key message for city policymakers? A.They should focus only on traditional industries. B.They must copy the development models of larger cities. C.They need to match development goals with the city’s scale. D.They should invest more in local infrastructure than workforce. 31.What is the main purpose of the passage? A.To compare the economies of East and West Coast cities. B.To introduce a hidden pattern in urban development. C.To argue that larger cities are better for innovation. D.To describe the history of U.S. economic growth. 根据第三段中的“Cities can develop new industries and abandon old ones, but they must do so in a way that doesn't harm their overall economic structure. For example, cities like Pittsburgh, which shifted from heavy industry to high-tech fields, had to find a new path that maintained stability.(城市可以发展新产业,放弃旧产业,但必须以不损害整体经济结构的方式进行。 根据第四段中的“As cities get larger, their level of connection steadily decreases at a predictable rate.(随着城市规模的扩大,它们的连接水平以可预测的速度稳步下降。)” 根据最后一段中的“Larger cities can support a wider range of activities, but every city’s ambitions for diversification are ultimately constrained by its size. Therefore, understanding this ‘hidden law’ can help policymakers create more realistic and effective development plans.(大城市可以支持更广泛的活动,但每个城市多元化的雄心最终都受到其规模的限制。 根据第一段中的“For 170 years, a hidden law has guided the growth and decline of U.S. cities, a new study reveals.(一项新研究显示,170年来,一项隐藏的规律一直指引着美国城市的兴衰。)” D Many papers have been published on the cognitive (认知的) benefits of multilingualism (多语言能力). Beyond the conversational doors it can open, multilingualism is supposed to improve the ability to stay focused, plan complex tasks and adjust to new information. What is more striking is that some studies even suggest people who can speak more than one language equally well may experience cognitive decline about four years later than those who speak only one, though such claims, as researchers point out, are not always consistent. The good news is that it is never too late to start learning a new language, but the biggest benefits seem to come to those who master their second language fully. A bit of university French does not, unfortunately, have the same advantages as deep knowledge and long experience. Switching languages constantly in the course of a day may be particularly important. Studies of bilingual (双语的) interpreters have provided some of the strongest evidence for this. For example, they are faster at repeatedly jumping back and forth between simple addition and subtraction problems, suggesting generally better cognitive control. Bilinguals are not like those speaking only one language in lots of ways. The child raised in a foreign language abroad may have cognitive and educational advantages that have nothing to do with bilingualism. Yet studies have found striking evidence that in poorer parts of the world multilingual people show the strongest advantages of speaking several languages. Where schooling is short, bilingualism exercises children’s brains in a way that their schooling may not. Ellen Bialystok of York University, in Canada, stated bilingualism is not a cure-all and compared it to a slice of holey cheese, for its cognitive protection is similar to the coverage of a piece of bread afforded by holey cheese. Doing other things that are good for the brain, such as exercise, is like putting the slices together. Their holes occur in different places, and thus collectively offer greater protection. 32.What is mainly discussed about multilingualism in the first paragraph? A.Its medical benefits. B.Expectations of it. C.Arguments about it. D.Its multiple advantages. 33.What does the example of interpreters show? A.Barriers to cross-cultural interactions. B.The importance of frequent bilingual use. C.Effects of bilingualism on multitasking. D.The link between languages and cognition. 34.Who is most affected by bilingualism? A.A teenager growing up abroad. B.A teenager having language gifts. C.A student in an undeveloped area. D.A student receiving formal schooling. 35.Why is bilingualism compared to holey cheese? A.To prove its role is crucial. B.To show it boosts physical health. C.To explain it is poorly studied. D.To illustrate its function is limited. 根据第一段中“Beyond the conversational doors it can open, multilingualism is supposed to improve the ability to stay focused, plan complex tasks and adjust to new information. What is more striking is that some studies even suggest people who can speak more than one language equally well may experience cognitive decline about four years later than those who speak only one, though such claims, as researchers point out, are not always consistent.(除了它能打开的对话之门,多语言能力还能提高保持专注、规划复杂任务和适应新信息的能力。 根据第二段中“Switching languages constantly in the course of a day may be particularly important. Studies of bilingual (双语的) interpreters have provided some of the strongest evidence for this. For example, they are faster at repeatedly jumping back and forth between simple addition and subtraction problems, suggesting generally better cognitive control.(在一天中不断地转换语言可能尤为重要。 根据第三段中“Yet studies have found striking evidence that in poorer parts of the world multilingual people show the strongest advantages of speaking several languages. Where schooling is short, bilingualism exercises children’s brains in a way that their schooling may not. 根据最后一段“Ellen Bialystok of York University, in Canada, stated bilingualism is not a cure-all and compared it to a slice of holey cheese, for its cognitive protection is similar to the coverage of a piece of bread afforded by holey cheese. Doing other things that are good for the brain, such as exercise, is like putting the slices together. Their holes occur in different places, and thus collectively offer greater protection.(加拿大约克大学的Ellen Bialystok表示,双语能力并不是万能的,并将其比作一片有洞的奶酪,因为它的认知保护类似于有洞的奶酪提供的一片面包的覆盖范围。 In childhood, we’re told: “Don’t talk to strangers.” But this is short-sighted advice. Once we leave school and step into society, almost everyone we encounter is a stranger. 36 So instead of keeping away from strangers, we need to get good at interacting with them, both to get help when we need it and to be of use to them. Let’s start with actual strangers — like those you walk past on the street or see in a store. You may not think you’re in a relationship with them, but you essentially are. Research shows that if you look past someone as if they aren’t there, they may feel a small hurt. 37 When you make eye contact and smile, you send a message: “You exist, fellow human. I see you.” It makes them feel valued, and you feel good too when they respond in the same way. 38 Researchers call these folks “consequential strangers”, because having them in your life is of consequence to you. Take shop assistants for example. You can show them that they matter by saying sincerely: “Thank you for being here. I really appreciate it.” 39 But keep in mind that they come to work every day and their work makes your life easier though you don’t know them well. Being kind not only lifts their spirits but also makes you and anyone who sees your kindness feel better. Finally, there are people in your wider circle — for example, neighbors in your community. I started a monthly writing group with some neighbors. 40 Now we help each other more, like borrowing things or collecting mail when someone is away. Through small, friendly actions, you can help build a stronger community. It is good for you, good for them, and good for everyone. A.The opposite is also true. B.As human beings, we are social by nature. C.By sharing stories, we built real connections. D.The key lies in deciding which people to connect with. E.Part of you might think it’s a bit unusual to thank them. F.Then there are strangers you have never met or heard of before. G.What about the humans you see regularly yet don’t really know? 36.根据上文“Once we leave school and step into society, almost everyone we encounter is a stranger (步入社会后,我们遇到的大多是陌生人)”以及下文“So instead of keeping away from strangers, we need to get good at interacting with them.(不要远离陌生人,要学会和他们交往)”可知,空格处点明人类的社交属性。B选项“As human beings, we are social by nature.(作为人类,我们天生具有社会性)”承上启下,符合语境。 37.根据上文“Research shows that if you look past someone as if they aren’t there, they may feel a small hurt.(研究表明,如果你无视某人、装作没看见他们,对方可能会感到一丝受伤)”和下文“When you make eye contact and smile, you send a message: “You exist, fellow human. I see you.”(当你进行眼神交流并微笑时,你传递出这样一个信息:“你真实存在,同为人类,我看见了你。”)” A选项“The opposite is also true.(反过来也是如此)”衔接两种相反结果,符合语境。 38.根据后文“Researchers call these folks “consequential strangers”, because having them in your life is of consequence to you. G选项“What about the humans you see regularly yet don’t really know?(那些你经常见到却并不真正了解的人呢?)” 39.根据下文“But keep in mind that they come to work every day and their work makes your life easier though you don’t know them well.(但请记住,他们每天都在辛勤工作,尽管你和他们并不熟识,他们的付出却让你的生活更加便利)”可知,选项与下文为转折关系,说明你对这些人的态度。E选项“Part of you might think it’s a bit unusual to thank them.(你可能会觉得感谢他们有点奇怪)”与后文构成转折,符合语境。 40.根据上文“I started a monthly writing group with some neighbors.(我和邻居组建了写作小组)”和下文“Now we help each other more, like borrowing things or collecting mail when someone is away.(如今我们互帮互助得更多了,比如互相借东西,或是有人外出时帮忙代收信件)”可知,空格处说明写作小组的作用。C选项“By sharing stories, we built real connections.(通过分享故事,我们建立了真正的联结)”承接上下文。 Greenish blue waters sparkled so bright that it was as if the stars had fallen into the sea overnight. Soft light gradually revealed motionless figures at work, as if lifted 56 the pages of a Ming-dynasty book. Slowly they began to move. Accompanied by the soft sound of page turning and the gentle flow of water, their graceful 57 (gesture) formed a living picture of labour. This breathtaking opening of the dance drama Tiangong Kaiwu pulled me 58 (instant) into that world of ancient creation. Through 59 (express) movement, the performance conveyed the book’s core message — 60 (value) the skills passed down by countless unknown labourers and the power of practical tools. The beautiful scenes of golden fields and shiny silk made me feel the deep bond between humanity and nature. The most moving moment came 61 Song Yingxing took off his official robe (官袍) and stepped into a “field” formed by the other dancers. All motion ceased; only his figure remained, arms stretched upward, silent yet full of strength. At that instant, history 62   (it) seemed to hold its breath. As I left the theatre I overheard a visitor say “This is beauty that 63 (go) beyond borders.” His words deepened my belief: art 64 (root) in a culture’s finest traditions possesses a timeless power to move anyone. This was more than 65 ancient book brought to life — it was a celebration of Chinese wisdom and its spirit of sharing with the world. 56.from 57.gestures 58.instantly 59.expressive 60.valuing 61.when 62.itself 63.goes 64.rooted 65.an 【导语】本文是一篇记叙文。 中”,应用介词from,lifted from意为“从…… 故填from。 57. 故填when。 62. 故填an。 Hello, everyone! ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Thank you for listening! Hello, everyone! I’m excited to introduce our group project and its final work, The Campus Bird Handbook. First, we observed the birds that frequent our campus and took photos of them. Then, we searched for information online to identify each species. The knowledge we gained during the process contributed to the creation of The Campus Bird Handbook, which features ten common bird species. For each species, we provide a vivid picture and information about its living habits. Additionally, some fun facts about them can be found in the handbook. Birds are an important part of our campus biodiversity. We wish this handbook could spark your interest in our feathered friends. Thank you for listening! The knowledge we gained during the process contributed to the creation of The Campus Bird Handbook, which features ten common bird species. The knowledge we gained during the process contributed to the creation of The Campus Bird Handbook, featuring ten common bird species. 1】The knowledge we gained during the process contributed to the creation of The Campus Bird Handbook, which features ten common bird species.(运用which引导的非限制性定语从句) 【高分句型2】We wish this handbook could spark your interest in our feathered friends. I consider myself a simple person. I am a housewife and my world revolves around caring for my family — cooking, laundry, and gardening are all part of my daily rhythm. And I truly love this life, proud of my role as a homemaker. My cookies and pies have always been the highlight of our family gatherings, while the roses in my garden never fail to stop neighbors in their tracks. I love my husband and my children, and I positively dote on (宠爱) my grandchildren. I just have a soft spot for kids — all kids, especially kids who are born with physical problems. They can’t help their situation, and it seems to me that they deserve to enjoy life as much as anyone. My nephew, Stevie, was born without sweat glands (腺体), a condition called HED.That meant that any physical activity could cause his body to overheat and seriously damage his system. Playing could actually kill him! It was a horrible task to keep a young child from “overdoing it.” He couldn’t understand why we wouldn’t let him have fun and run around like the other children. What kid can live without playing? Deeply upset, one day I wailed (嚎啕大哭) to my husband, “If we can put a man on the moon, there must be something we can do for Stevie!” That set me thinking, and the logical conclusion of that chain of thought was NASA.“I’m going to call NASA,” I said firmly. My startled husband scoffed (嘲笑), “You’re going to call NASA? Honey, you’re a housewife. What are you going to say to NASA?” I didn’t know exactly, but I figured it was worth a try. So I called them. It was amazing, but somehow, I got through to someone who could help me. When I explained Stevie’s problem, the man on the other end of the line considered for a moment and then told me about the “cool suit.” They’d used it on a few of the moon missions, and he thought it might do the trick for Stevie. I was thrilled. But there’s always a catch — the cool suit cost $2,600. Twenty-six hundred dollars we certainly did not have. But I knew I’d just have to find the money. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________续写第二段开头: I couldn’t wait to see Stevie in this specially-made “cool suit”. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________【答案】 But I knew I’d just have to find the money. I baked my famous cookies and pies, selling them from door to door — neighbors gladly bought them, some even giving extra to help Stevie. On weekends, I ran a farmers’ market stall, where my exceptional garden roses and freshly-baked goods seemed irresistible to many passers-by. Every penny went into a jar labeled “Stevie’s Cool Suit”. After months of hard work, I finally scraped together enough money to buy the suit. I immediately contacted NASA to place the order, and to my delight, the custom-tailored cool suit was delivered to my doorstep just two weeks later. I couldn’t wait to see Stevie in this specially-made “cool suit”. When he put it on, his eyes lit up like never before. For the first time in his life, he could run around the backyard, chase butterflies, and play tag with the other kids — all without overheating. 第二节 (满分 25 分) But I knew I’d just have to find the money. I stood by the porch, watching him laugh and shout, free and happy. My eyes moistened. Stevie would stop every now and then to wave at me, his grin wide and bright. C For 170 years, a hidden law has guided the growth and decline of U.S. cities, a new study reveals. D Many papers have been published on the cognitive (认知的) benefits of multilingualism (多语言能力). In childhood, we’re told: “Don’t talk to strangers.” But this is short-sighted advice. Greenish blue waters sparkled so bright that it was as if the stars had fallen into the sea overnight. Hello, everyone! ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Thank you for listening! ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________ 1 / 25 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
