When he was very young, his owner John gray, sadly died. Bobby spent the next 14 years guarding Jon’s grave. He loved his owner so much that he never wanted to be parted. Everyday people would see him sitting there. He became quite the celebrity. He was so popular that the leader of Edinburgh city at the time, sir William Chambers, paid for Bobby’s dog license in 1867. Bobby eventually died and was buried not far from his beloved owner, which means that even today he remains by his owner’s side. Over the years, people have told many versions of this story. Countless books have been written and films made. Greyfriars Bobby is a symbol of love and devotion to this day. In my opinion, this is the most touching part. A In order to facilitate public transportation for expats (侨民) in Shanghai, the Suishenxing app has recently introduced an English version. I spent countless hours practicing basketball in my driveway. Yet for three straight years, I got cut from the middle school basketball team. Soccer seemed more promising. I’d played for nearly a decade, but when high school tryouts came, I still failed to make the team. Determined not to give up on sports, I turned to diving. At first, I was terrible. I could barely touch my toes without bending my knees, and I was afraid of heights. Still, I kept practicing. I often stayed at the pool until dark, leaving only when my coach forced me out. I believed that greatness was built through daily effort. Eventually, my persistence paid off. By my senior year, I had become an All-American diver and qualified for the Junior Olympic Nationals. Diving soon became more than just an activity — it became my identity. However, when I entered college, the sport I loved became something I started to fear. At that level, I could no longer beat more talented divers by working harder. Yet I kept pushing myself, partly because of one troubling question: If I’m not a diver, who am I? Psychologists call this identity foreclosure — when people commit too early to a particular identity and ignore other possible selves. After my freshman year, I began to rethink. I realized that diving was a passion rather than a life purpose. My deeper goal was to grow and contribute, and there were many ways to do that. Retiring from diving freed me up to spend the summer doing psychology research and working as a diving coach. It also gave me time to concentrate on my silliest hobby — performing as a magician. Since then, I have set an annual reminder in my calendar to rethink important parts of my life. Just as we visit doctors for regular health checkups, we can also examine our goals, habits, and relationships. Sometimes the most important step forward begins with the courage to rethink who we are. 24. Which one is true of the author’s experience with sports during his childhood? A. He spent much time practicing and refused to join school teams. B. He devoted himself to different sports but was unable to organize a team. C. He engaged in some sports yet failed to secure a place in school teams. D. He mainly focused on basketball before turning to diving. 25. The author kept pushing himself in diving even facing difficulties in college because ______. A. he realized he feared the sport he loved B. he could no longer beat more talented divers C. his coach encouraged him to train harder than others D. he was unwilling to question the identity he had formed 26. Retiring from diving allowed the author to ______. A. discover and pursue other interests B. regain confidence in funny hobbies C. devote himself to psychology research D. avoid the pressure of athletic competition 27. Advances in chemistry have given us lifesaving drugs, massive agricultural yields, and so on. But many of our chemical creations, like plastics and so-called forever chemicals, have an unpleasant tendency to hang around, showing up in our water, food, and even our bodies. It can feel disastrous: With the products of our technology now woven into remote ecosystems and our own flesh, there’s no escape for us. However, we are not the only chemical engineers. Plants turn air into wood and sunlight into sugar, while microbes (微生物) perform remarkable functions. Using microbes for waste cleanup is already a proven technology. Many wastewater treatment plants rely on microbes to break down harmful substances in the waste water, though some complex compounds stay irremovable. Commercial microbial products are also used to treat waste from paper factories, textile factories, and farms, as well as to clean up oil and gas spills in enclosed (密闭的) spaces. Yet, these microbial products have limitations. Beneficial microbes are often outcompeted by local species in the wild, and even in enclosed tanks, they eventually die off. The key to overcoming such challenges, according to microbiologist Jiandong Jiang, is to craft and spread intentionally designed microbial communities, or microbiomes. To create customized microbiomes, Jiang and others are using a bottom-up approach. They identify the tasks they want their microbes to perform and then use tools to decide species capable of finishing those tasks. The goal is to design a community where microbes work cooperatively, with some breaking down pollutants into manageable parts for others to consume, and others providing supporting roles. In the future, advances in synthetic (合成的) biology and genetic engineering may enable scientists to develop customized microbiomes capable of breaking down even more stubborn targets. While the use of genetically engineered or fully synthetic microbe cleanup crews in the wild is still a long-term vision, experts believe widespread use of customized microbiomes designed with the bottom-up approach could occur within the next decade. 28. What is a major problem of human chemical innovations? A. They involve a rather long production cycle. B. They are too expensive to produce massively. C. They are less efficient than natural chemical processes. D. They have severe impacts on the environment and humans. 29. What does the text say about the current microbial products? A. They require testing in a wider context. B. They perform worse in enclosed tanks. C. They break down pollutants with ease. D. They need specific working conditions. 30. How does Jiang’s bottom-up approach improve microbial cleanups? A. By stressing teamwork among microbes. B. By relying heavily on existing local species. C. By using genetically engineered microbes from the start. D. By selecting single species that can perform multiple functions. 31. What is the experts’ attitude towards the application of customized microbiomes? A. Positive. B. Dismissive. C. Mixed. D. Worried. D 29. D 30. A 31. 根据第一段中的“But many of our chemical creations, like plastics and so-called forever chemicals, have an unpleasant tendency to hang around, showing up in our water, food, and even our bodies. It can feel disastrous: With the products of our technology now woven into remote ecosystems and our own flesh, there’s no escape for us. (但我们的许多化学制品,比如塑料和所谓的永久性化学物质,都有一个令人头疼的特点——会长期残留,出现在我们的水源、食物甚至身体里。这可能会带来灾难性的后果:我们的科技产物如今已经渗入偏远的生态系统和我们自己的身体,我们无处可逃。)”可知,人类化学创新的一个主要问题是其产物会对环境和人类造成严重影响。故选D项。 【29题详解】 推理判断题。根据第三段中的“Yet, these microbial products have limitations. Beneficial microbes are often outcompeted by local species in the wild, and even in enclosed tanks, they eventually die off. (然而,这些微生物产品存在局限性。有益微生物在野外往往会被本地物种竞争淘汰,即使是在密闭的容器中,它们最终也会消亡。)”可知,目前的微生物产品需要特定的工作条件才能发挥作用,在野外环境中难以存活,在密闭环境中也无法长期维持。故选D项。 【30题详解】 细节理解题。根据第四段中的“The goal is to design a community where microbes work cooperatively, with some breaking down pollutants into manageable parts for others to consume, and others providing supporting roles. (其目标是设计一个微生物协同工作的群落,一些微生物将污染物分解为可处理的部分供其他微生物分解利用,而另一些微生物则承担辅助作用。)”可知,蒋的自下而上方法通过强调微生物之间的团队协作来改善污染清理效果。故选A项。 根据最后一段中的“While the use of genetically engineered or fully synthetic microbe cleanup crews in the wild is still a long-term vision, experts believe widespread use of customized microbiomes designed with the bottom-up approach could occur within the next decade. (尽管在野外使用基因工程或完全合成的微生物清理团队仍然是一个长期愿景,但专家们认为,采用自下而上方法设计的定制化微生物群落有望在未来十年内得到广泛应用。)”可知,专家们对于定制化微生物群落的应用前景持积极态度。故选A项。 D All-solid-state lithium batteries (全固态锂电池) are considered the next big thing in energy storage. However, they have long faced a challenging problem. They need to maintain tight contact between the solid electrolyte (电解质) and the lithium metal electrode (锂金属电极). Now, Chinese scientists have made a breakthrough. They developed a self-adaptive layer, called an interface. This layer can actively attract lithium ions (锂离子), which then automatically fill all tiny gaps and holes, much like self-healing. This maintains tight contact between the electrode and electrolyte without needing external pressure. It decisively overcome a major bottleneck toward commercialization. Traditional methods required heavy equipment to press the parts together constantly, making batteries too big and heavy for practical use. The researchers from the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering of the CAS and Huazhong University of Science and Technology found that the contact between the lithium electrode and the solid electrolyte in all-solid-state lithium batteries is not ideal. There are numerous tiny holes and gaps present. These issues not only shorten battery lifespan but may also pose safety risks. To address this challenge, the team of researchers introduced iodide ions (碘离子) into the solid electrolyte. During battery operation, these ions move to the electrode interface under the electric field. They form an iodine-rich interface. The interface can actively attract lithium ions to fill all gaps automatically, ensuring tight contact like a self-repairing process. Test batteries made with this technology showed stable, high performance even after hundreds of charge-discharge cycles — far better than similar batteries today. This advance could lead to batteries with energy density (密度) over 500 Wh/kg and could double the battery life of devices. The breakthrough will speed up the development of high-energy all-solid-state batteries for use in human-like robots, electric planes, electric vehicles and other fields, providing safer and more efficient energy solutions. “This study fundamentally solves the key bottleneck problem that was holding back the commercialization of all-solid-state batteries, marking a decisive step toward their practical application”, said Wang Chunsheng, a battery expert at the University of Maryland. 32. What has been the main difficulty in developing all-solid-state lithium batteries? A. Their very high production cost. B. Making them work without any electricity. C. Finding enough lithium metal sources. D. Keeping their internal parts tightly together. 33. What is special about the new self-adaptive layer? A. It is made from extremely rare minerals. B. It can repair gaps by itself during use. C. It works only under very high pressure. D. It replaces the need for lithium ions. 34. What is a key advantage of the new battery design in testing? A. It can be fully charged in just seconds. B. It stays stable over hundreds of cycles. C. It can work without any electrolyte material. D. It is made from much cheaper raw materials. 35. Which statement best reflects expert Wang Chunsheng’s view of the breakthrough? A. It is only a small step in battery research. B. It is too expensive for real-world application. C. It solves the main barrier to commercial use. D. It is the final step before mass production. 36. What is the main purpose of the passage? A. To introduce a breakthrough in battery technology. B. To explain how lithium batteries are produced. C. To compare different kinds of energy storage. D. To warn about safety risks in old batteries. D 33. B 34. B 35. C 36. 故选A。 Are you able to cook a healthy meal? Are you able to manage your money well? Are you able to sew on a button? ___37___ This highlights a significant gap in modern education, which heavily prioritizes academic achievement and strict testing, often at the expense of practical life skills. Schools have done well in preparing us to be academic achievers in school, but may not have prepared us well enough in developing life skills. ___38___ For those without these basic skills, the pandemic lockdown was a rude shock. With restaurants closed and home services stopped, it would have been satisfying to cook a meal or fix a light bulb. It’s a shame that schools produce scholarly individuals who are unprepared for simple home tasks. ___39___ For example, financial management fosters responsibility and caution, while lessons on investment teach wealth growth. Equipped with this literacy, students can better discuss financial goals with parents, and budgeting knowledge can steer them away from overspending. Thus, in our complex world, schools must teach beyond academic subjects. After all, all the responsibility cannot be transferred to the home. The argument for parents teaching practical life skills overlooks modern realities. Many working parents lack the time, and some may not possess the proficiency themselves. ___40___. Sandra Carey, a writer, puts it appropriately: “Never mistake knowledge for wisdom. One helps you make a living; the other helps you make a life.” School is not simply a place to pass knowledge and prepare us for a career. ___41___ A. Thus, a balanced approach is needed early on. B. For instance, many communities offer evening classes for adults. C. Instead, it equips us with the wisdom to construct a fulfilling life. D. Not many of us can confidently nod our heads to these questions. E. Consequently, the central role in bridging this gap must fall to our schools. F. By integrating practical skills, schools can teach a more complete set of life values. G. Yet practical skills such as cooking and housekeeping are essential in the real world. D 38. G 39. F 40. E 41. 【37题详解】 由上文“Are you able to cook a healthy meal? Are you able to manage your money well? Are you able to sew on a button? D选项“Not many of us can confidently nod our heads to these questions. The argument for parents teaching practical life skills overlooks modern realities. Many working parents lack the time, and some may not possess the proficiency themselves. E选项“Consequently, the central role in bridging this gap must fall to our schools. 【41题详解】 由上文“School is not simply a place to pass knowledge and prepare us for a career. One helps you make a living; the other helps you make a life.” C选项“Instead, it equips us with the wisdom to construct a fulfilling life. Actually, AI is a great helper — it can save time for data searching and polish our language, which helps improve the report’s quality if used properly. To fix the problem, why not draft the report by yourself first? Use AI only to check mistakes or refine expressions instead of letting it write for you. Also, think independently when meeting difficulties before turning to AI for ideas. I hope my suggestions work for you. Let’s cooperate well and finish a wonderful report together. If you need help, just let me know. 词汇积累 依赖:rely on→count on 实际上:actually→in reality 合理地:properly→appropriately 合作:cooperate→collaborate 2. Let’s cooperate well and finish a wonderful report together. Only by cooperating well can we finish a wonderful report together. 1】Actually, AI is a great helper — it can save time for data searching and polish our language, which helps improve the report’s quality if used properly.(运用了which引导的非限制性定语从句) 【高分句型2】Also, think independently when meeting difficulties before turning to AI for ideas.(运用了when引导的状语从句的省略) 第二节 读后续写(满分 25 分) 68. One day after school, my younger brother Alan called out to me, “David! Come here quickly! I have something to show you!” To my surprise, he had brought home an injured bird. I was immediately attracted by its bright blue feathers. For some reason, I named the bird “Robin” in my mind, and I readily agreed with my brother’s choice. Alan told me that Robin had fallen from a tree, hitting the ground and hurting its wings. A group of kids surrounded the injured bird, unsure of what to do. Alan quickly stepped in and brought it home. Robin was scared and nervous, and I could feel its trembling body as I held it in my hands. We took it to the vet, where it got timely treatment. Following the doctor’s instructions, we took great care of Robin. Gradually, it became calm and started to sense our kindness. Since we didn’t have a birdcage, I decided to make one myself. I was fairly good at art, so I found a cardboard box, cut out four windows, and used wooden sticks as bars. Once it was done, I carefully placed Robin inside its new shelter. It took him two days to get used to his new surroundings. Our dog, Max, had always been a sweetheart, but he became increasingly excited. He would circle the box and sometimes bark at it in a playful way. I realized he wasn’t trying to scare Robin; instead, he seemed interested in his new feathered friend and eager to play with him in his own way. About two months later, Robin made a full recovery. To provide Robin with a comfortable living environment, my father bought a bright birdcage. However, I noticed that Robin kept trying to escape from the cage and cried frequently. Alan mentioned that he sensed Robin was lonely and missed his family. This made me realize that it was time to send him home to nature. After some discussions, Alan and I decided to set Robin free. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ With a sudden burst of energy, Robin took off into the sky. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 After some discussions, Alan and I decided to set Robin free. We chose a sunny morning, taking the birdcage to the big oak tree where Alan first found Robin. As we approached the spot, memories of rescuing Robin flooded back, making the moment even more meaningful. I gently opened the cage door, my heart a little sad but happy for it. Alan stroked Robin’s blue feathers softly, whispering that it could come back to visit us anytime. Robin hopped to the cage entrance, looked at us for a moment, as if expressing its gratitude, and we could tell it was ready for this new journey. With a sudden burst of energy, Robin took off into the sky. It circled above us twice, its bright blue feathers shining in the sun, as if showing off its newfound freedom. Max wagged his tail and barked gently, as if saying goodbye, and we could see the connection between all living beings at that moment. Alan and I waved our hands, watching it fly farther and farther until it disappeared into the forest. Though we felt a bit empty, we knew we did the right thing — nature is always Robin’s true home, and we were glad to have been a part of its story. 词汇激活 行为类 ①带着鸟笼去大树那里:take the birdcage to the big oak tree/carry the birdcage to the oak tree ②靠近:approach/come near/get close to ③抚摸:stroke/pat/touch gently 情绪类 ①难过:sad/sorrowful/upset ②高兴的:happy/delighted/pleased 【点睛】【高分句型1】We chose a sunny morning, taking the birdcage to the big oak tree where Alan first found Robin. B As a kid, my identity was wrapped up in sports. The author mentions regular health checkups in the last paragraph to ______. A. emphasize the importance of physical health. B. explain why athletes often visit doctors. C. remind us of the key step to gaining courage. D. illustrate the value of regularly rethinking one’s life. C Humans are experts at rearranging matter. A. Positive. B. Dismissive. C. Mixed. D. Worried. D All-solid-state lithium batteries (全固态锂电池) are considered the next big thing in energy storage. Are you able to cook a healthy meal? It was an ordinary Friday afternoon when Nolan, my eight-year-old son, changed how I see the world. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $这是普通高等学校招生全国统一考试英语科听力部分,该部分分为第一第二两节。 Hello, international friends club. can I help you?
