if 引导的条件状语从句

从属连词if 可以用来引导条件状语从句。从句通常用一般现在时表示将来，意思是“如果……；假如……”；主句或者用将来时态，或者带有情态动词，或者为祈使句。从句既可以位于主句前，用逗号与主句隔开，也可以位于主句后。

考点1 if 引导的条件状语从句，时态遵循“三原则”：“主将从现、主情从现、主祈从现”，即从句用一般现在时，主句用对应时态。

1.主将从现（主句将来时，从句一般现在时）。

例：If you practice calligraphy every day, you will improve your handwriting soon.如果你每天练习书法，很快就能提高书写水平。

2.主情从现（主句含情态动词 can/may/must 等，从句一般现在时）

例：If we don’t save water now, we may face water shortages in the future.如果我们现在不节约用水，未来可能会面临水资源短缺。

3.主祈从现（主句是祈使句，从句一般现在时）

例：Call me at once if you find the lost key to the classroom.如果你找到教室丢失的钥匙，立刻给我打电话。

注意:1.区分“条件从句”与“宾语从句”：if 表“是否”时引导宾语从句（常跟在 know/ask/wonder 等词后），时态需结合语境，而非“主将从现”。

I don’t know if my mom will buy me a new book.我不知道我的妈妈是否会给我买一本新书。（宾语从句，表“是否”）

2.不可与“or/otherwise”重复：if 已表条件，无需再加“否则”类词汇，如错误表达为“If you don’t hurry, or you’ll be late.”，应删去“or”。

考点2 常见的引导条件状语从句的连词还有 unless（除非）、as long as（只要）等。

例：One can’t learn a foreign language unless he studies hard.除非努力学习，否则一个人学不好一门外语。

As long as you drive carefully, you will be very safe. 只要你开车小心，就会非常安全。
