easier(更轻松的)、smarter(更聪明的)、happier(更开心的)均不符合语境。

根据“the cold weather”可知,寒冷天气是动物死亡的原因,对应because of。thanks to“多亏”、instead of“而不是”、even though“即使”不符合因果逻辑。

根据“because it could make them live through the cold winter”可知,能熬过冬天是个极好的主意,perfect符合语境。

B. The reason is that trees can keep us healthy, just like doctors.
C. Some scientists think that trees help more than just the air.
D. People are planting trees not just in city parks.
E. A study focused on the people in a place with few trees.
F. They walked slower when going to work or going home.
B 32. D 33. C 34. E 35. F
前文提出问题“Why are trees so important to us?”,后文出现因果标志词“So”,最终结论为“we call them doctor trees”,核心呼应关键词为“doctor trees”。选项B“The reason is that trees can keep us healthy, just like doctors.”
D“People are planting trees not just in city parks.”
C“Some scientists think that trees help more than just the air.”
前文提到“Scientists are also studying the healthy effect (作用) of trees on human minds.”,点明科学家正在开展相关研究,后文出现指代标志词“there”,提到“After workers planted lots of trees there”,说明空处需要引出具体的研究对象和地点。选项E“A study focused on the people in a place with few trees.”
前文给出研究结果:种完树后人们认为街区变得更舒适了,后文提到“And they stayed on the street to talk more often with people who lived near them”,描述人们的行为变化,空处需要补充种树后人们的行为改变,和后文形成并列逻辑。选项F“They walked slower when going to work or going home.”

固定搭配“spend time (in) doing sth”表示“花费时间做某事”,所以此处“go”要用动名词形式“going”。
此处是固定句型“it is +形容词+for sb to do sth”,“it”作形式主语,真正的主语是后面的不定式,所以此处用“to decide”。
固定搭配“make a difference”表示“对……
