19 Feb. 2026
What a day I got cross with my son again. I’m so tired these days. My 15-year-old son is glued to his phone in all his free time—playing video games, checking social media, and sending emails. He just can’t put his phone down…
This afternoon, I asked him to put the phone away and join our family talk, but he said no. We argued, and he looked really sad. I feel helpless and don’t know what to do. Does anyone have good advice?
21 Feb. 2026
Guess what? We’re on a beautiful island for vacation! I made a rule with my son before we left: no phones, no social media, no video games. Just get away from screens and enjoy nature together.
But at the hotel, my son kept complaining (抱怨), “My phone, my phone!” He didn’t notice the beautiful blue ocean outside. I almost gave up like I usually do at home. Finally, we made a deal: he could use it for just 20 minutes.
After that, I took him to the beach. My daughter and husband were drawing on wood, and they looked so peaceful. I hope things will get better tomorrow…
28 Feb. 2026
We’re back from our island trip, and I’m so happy! These days were really surprising!
At first, my son couldn’t stand being without his phone, but soon he joined us digging for shells (贝壳) and looking for sea treasures (宝藏). He even sat quietly reading a book in the garden.
Yesterday morning, he sat beside me on the beach, watching the sunrise with sand in his hands. His eyes were shining!
Good communication and patience work better than getting angry. My son’s progress makes me so proud. A week away from electronics (电子设备) is truly wonderful!
19. Why did the mother get cross with her son?
A. Because her son wasn’t polite to his mum. B. Because her son didn’t finish his homework. C. Because her son couldn’t put his phone down. D. Because her son always said no to their family talks.
20. What can we learn from the second blog?
A. The family had a rule during the trip. B. The family went on a trip to a forest park. C. The son didn’t use his phone during the trip. D. The daughter didn’t join the family activities.
21. How did the son feel according to the underlined sentence “His eyes were shining!”?
A. Bored and lonely. B. Excited and happy. C. Relaxed and calm. D. Tired and helpless.
C 20. A 21. B
原文第一篇“My 15-year-old son is glued to his phone in all his free time… He just can’t put his phone down… We argued”,可知冲突的核心原因是儿子沉迷手机、无法放下。
【20题详解】
原文第二篇第一段“I made a rule with my son before we left: no phones, no social media, no video games”,可知旅行前定了无电子设备的规矩。
根据最后一篇第二段“At first, my son couldn’t stand being without his phone, but soon he joined us digging for shells (贝壳) and looking for sea treasures (宝藏). He even sat quietly reading a book in the garden.”,可知,儿子主动参与各项活动,状态积极。“His eyes were shining!”(眼睛闪闪发光)常用来形容人兴奋喜悦,由此可判断他此刻心情愉悦、十分开心。
C
Today, teamwork is important in many fields (领域). Most people think the best way to build a great team is to bring together the most talented people. For example, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg once said one great engineer is as useful as a hundred common ones. Do you think this is always true? Can more talents always help us do better?
Animal scientist William Muir did an experiment with chickens. He chose some strong chickens that could lay many eggs. He kept them for a long time and made them Group A. He also used some common chickens as Group B. But the result was surprising. Chickens in Group A laid fewer eggs than those in Group B. They used too much energy competing (竞争) with each other. So they had little energy left to lay eggs.
This finding made scientists interested in studying teams. They did some studies on three sports: football, basketball and baseball. In football and basketball, teams worked better when there were some excellent players. But when more than 70% of the players were very good, the team did not do better. In fact, it did worse. However, things were different in baseball. More excellent players still made the team work better.
There are two reasons for this. First, in football and basketball, players must work together very well. If there are too many great players, they may care more about themselves than the team. This makes the team do worse. Second, when there are many great people in a group, some players may rely on (依赖) other teammates too much and not work hard.
In the end, it is not easy to build a great team just by choosing great members. We need a good balance. We need some excellent members. We also need good cooperation and strong teamwork. If we work together and try our best, we can turn our strength into real success.
22. How does the writer lead in the topic?
A. By telling a story. B. By asking questions. C. By listing numbers. D. By showing pictures.
23. What does the underlined word “They” in Paragraph 2 refer to?
A. Animal scientists. B. All the chickens. C. Chickens in Group A. D. Chickens in Group B.
24. What do studies on sports show?
A. Too many excellent players may make the team do worse.
B. Basketball players do not have to work together very well.
C. Baseball players care more about themselves than the team.
D. Football teams should have more than 70% of excellent players.
25. Which is the best title for the passage?
A. Teamwork in Sports B. How to Build a Great Team
C. The More Talents, the Better D. An Experiment with Chickens
B 23. C 24. A 25. B
原文第一段结尾提出两个问题“Do you think this is always true? Can more talents always help us do better?”,可知通过提问引出下文的讨论。
原文第二段“Chickens in Group A laid fewer eggs than those in Group B. They used too much energy competing with each other.”可知,“They”指代前文提到的“Chickens in Group A”。
原文第三段“In football and basketball, teams worked better when there were some excellent players. But when more than 70% of the players were very good, the team did not do better. In fact, it did worse.”

46. term
47. disagreement
48. reminds
49. have failed
50. awful
“I had a ____ with”中,空格前有不定冠词“a”,后面搭配介词“with”,必须填单数名词,作动词“had”的宾语。
“this always ____ me of the simple and happy friendship”中,主语是代词“this”,时态为一般现在时,空格处需要动词第三人称单数作谓语。
“I ____ almost every math test since I came here”中,句子缺少谓语动词,时间标志词“since”是现在完成时的核心提示,结构为“have/has+过去分词”。
“how ____ my new school life is”中,“how”引导感叹句,结构为“how+形容词+主语+谓语”,因此空格需要形容词。
B.

19 Feb.
