Hollywood is finally on a roll. The first six weeks of 2026 were the film industry’s best start. Here are 4 movies we’re looking forward to this spring.
Hoppers
In theaters March 6
Scientists have invented a way to “hop” human minds into lifelike animal robots in Pixar’s latest adventure. Mabel, an animal-loving teen, uses this new tech to control a robot beaver, and quicker than you can say Avatar meets Mission Impossible, she’s leading local animals in stopping a construction company’s plan to destroy their habitat.
Project Hail Mary
In theaters March 20
Ryan Gosling plays a middle school teacher who may be the world’s only hope when the sun and most of the galaxy’s nearby stars start to dim. He resists being packed onto a spaceship and sent to the one nearby star that’s unaffected by the dimming, but his enthusiasm for the mission surges when encountering an alien life form. Based on the novel The Martian by Andy Weir, this story is about a lengthy and dangerous space flight that lightens suspense with humor.
Michael
In theaters April 24
Antoine Fuqua directs this biographical film about the rise and rise of Michael Jackson, from lead singer of The Jackson Five to superstar status as The Gloved One. Stepping into Jackson’s shoes — and probably moonwalking — is the King of Pop’s lookalike and soundalike nephew, Jaafar Jackson, while Colman Domingo plays his father Joe.
The Devil Wears Prada 2
In theaters May 1
Meryl Streep’s Miranda is still Runway magazine’s Queen Bee, and Stanley Tucci (Nigel), Anne Hathaway (Andy) and Emily Blunt (Emily) are still buzzing around her, though with an altered media landscape, the power dynamics have shifted. Once again, I was at a new school. So was a girl in my class named Paris. That was where the similarities ended. I was tall and she was small. I was one of the oldest in the class while she was the youngest. My hair was thick, short and ugly while hers was long and beautiful. I was awkward and shy. She wasn’t. I couldn’t stand her, considering her my enemy. But she wanted to be friends.
One day, she invited me over and I said yes — I was too shocked to say no. Actually, no one had invited me to play before. But this girl, who wore the latest fashions, wanted to invite me.
She lived on the fourth floor in a two-room place. When we got to the room she shared with her sister, she took out a big case of Barbies — which was my next surprise. I would have thought she had outgrown them. I had never played with them. But we sat on the floor of a walk-in cupboard laughing as we made up crazy stories about the Barbies. That’s when we found out that we both wanted to be writers when we were older. We both had wild imaginations.
We had a great time that afternoon. She showed me her outfits, which had mostly come from a designer clothing store down the block. The woman who owned it sometimes used her as a model for her newspaper ads and gave her clothes in exchange.
Paris charmed (吸引) the whole neighborhood. The bookstore owners lent her fashion magazines, the movie theater gave her free passes and the pizza place let her have free pieces. Soon I was included in her magic world. We slept over at each other’s houses and spent every free moment together. I let my hair grow out and learned to love being tall.
Paris, my first real friend since childhood, helped me get through my tough teenage years and taught me an amazing thing about making friends: “Your worst enemy” can turn out to be your best friend.
4. What was the author’s first impression of Paris?
A. She held a poor opinion of Paris.
B. She was proud of her personality.
C. She thought she was similar to Paris.
D. She hoped to become friends with Paris.
5. What was the author’s first surprise from Paris?
A. Paris invited her to play at home.
B. Paris lived in a small flat.
C. Paris still played with Barbies.
D. Paris shared her writing dream.
6. What influence did Paris have on the author?
A. She stayed shy and awkward. B. She hated her tall height.
C. She gave up writing. D. She grew more confident.
7. Which is the best title of the text?
A. My Teenage School Life
B. An Unexpected Best Friend
C. A New School and a New Friend
D. Paris, the Popular Girl in Neighborhood
C
Aurora Nikula, 5, is having a normal day at her kindergarten. She is making a cake out of sand and mud, adding in make-believe carrots, potatoes and meat. Aki Sinkkonen, a scientist watching, is very interested in the cake, but for different reasons. “Perfect,” he says, admiring the way she is mixing dirt, sand and leaves and then putting it on her face. “She’s really getting her hands in it.”
To a hygiene-conscious (注重卫生的) kindergarten, this could be a problem, but at Humpula daycare centre in Helsinki, children are encouraged to increase their contact with the microscopic biodiversity (微生物多样性) . This kindergarten was included in a two-year study looking at how biodiversity enhancements affect the microbial composition of children’s skin.
The staff dug up and set up a giant live carpet of forest floor. The plants, dead wood and soil in the daycare centre were specially chosen for their rich micro-biodiversity. Children grow carrots, potatoes and cucumbers, harvesting and cooking what they plant.
A year later, it found that children in contact with nature were less likely to develop immune-related (免疫相关的) illnesses. The results support the “old friends” assumption that humans developed alongside microbes (微生物) in air, plants and soil. The body can exchange useful microbes with the natural world to stay healthy. Without contact with these, immune function can become overactive, leading to disease. The kindergartens provide evidence of how crucial healthy ecosystems are to human health. Increasing biodiversity can be a win-win for children’s health and the environment.
Based on that, the University of Sheffield has done research on placing green screens around school playgrounds to prevent air pollution from harming children’s health. Hunter’s Bar infant school in Sheffield created a 70-metre-long fence of plants that goes around the playground. Nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) levels dropped by 13% within six months, with further decreases expected as the wall continues to grow.
8. What does the underlined word “this” in paragraph 2 refer to?
A. Guided hands-on practice. B. Kids’ exposure to dirt and mud.
C. Delicious homemade food for kids. D. The diversity of life forms in the garden.
9. What did the staff at Humpula daycare centre do?
A. Rewild their kindergarten. B. Grow a forest in the backyard.
C. Promote forest education among kids. D. Introduce kids to useful farming practices.
10. Why does nature contact reduce people’s chance of getting sick?
A. It improves their mood. B. It strengthens the ecosystem.
C. It removes harmful microbes. D. It balances their immune system.
11. Why does the author mention the Sheffield study?
A. To support green schools. B. To give direction for further research.
C. To promote healthy growth in school children. D. To show an application of the research finding.
D
“When AI videos are just as good as normal videos, I wonder what that will do to short video platforms and how that will impact the millions of creators currently making content for a living. There must be scary times,” an influential content creator, Jimmy Donaldson, said. Donaldson’s concerns follow the release of a social media platform able to produce short-form AI videos, including videos of individuals who “upload” themselves onto the app. Other content creators have also spoken out about the consequences of platforms where every video is from AI.
Still, Donaldson hasn’t shied away from having a go at the technology. In July, Donaldson made an online tool producing AI-made thumbnails (缩略图) for the public, but removed the feature about a week later after heavy criticism (批评) from other creators. He said he would replace the tool with links to human artists accepting commissions (委托创作). “I care more than any of you could ever imagine about the community,” he said in a video. “It makes me deeply sad when I do something that people in the community are angry at.”
Online content creators are torn between using AI-generated video content and keeping away from AI creation. While more than 80% of content creators said they used AI tools for their content, including generating images and videos, one-third said they had concerns about the quality of the AI-generated content, and 45% said the technology would make it harder for human creators to stand out, according to a survey of 620 influencers.
Not everyone sees AI as a bad thing for content creators. Amjad Hanif, a head of creator payments and products, said that the technology could help balance the playing field among creators who may not have the same resources as Donaldson. “A lot of the effects — the visual quality, the visual imagery — are tricky (难办的). Up until now it’s taken an expert team to be able to produce them,” Hanif said. “AI is going to make that available to a much broader group of creators.”
12. What phenomenon does the author point out in paragraph 1?
A. AI downloads information of users.
B. AI boosts the spread of short videos.
C. AI will bring challenges to creators.
D. AI has replaced human creators online.
13. Why was Donaldson criticized?
A. He created an AI tool. B. He promoted AI videos.
C. He shared his videos. D. He disrespected human artists.
14. Why does the author mention the survey in paragraph 3?
A. To support Donaldson’s concern.
B. To show public support for AI.
C. To stress the negative impact of AI.
D. To show creators’ mixed feelings.
15. What is the advantage of AI according to Amjad Hanif?
A. It helps create equal opportunity. B. It helps creators attract more viewers.
C. It increases the payments for creators. D. It improves the special visual effects.

How to Strengthen Your Happiness Muscle
We’ve all experienced the urge to avoid activities we know we’ll enjoy. When we’re feeling down, we might skip a birthday party or cancel a lunch date. However, doing so often makes us feel worse than before. ___16___ One proven strategy is to improve your reward sensitivity. Just as a muscle strengthens with exercise, our motivation to seek out happiness can be developed by training ourselves to notice and enjoy positive emotions. Here are some methods to help you strengthen it.
___17___
Begin by planning one activity per day that will make you happy or give you a sense of accomplishment. It can be as simple as treating yourself to a favorite snack, reading a few pages of a novel, or calling a friend. Being practical makes you less likely to put off these positive experiences.
Savor your positive emotions
Psychologists call the process of identifying and fully experiencing positive emotions “savoring” (品味). After enjoying a daily moment, close your eyes and recall the details of the experience. ___18___ This strengthens your memory of positive moments and increases your motivation to seek them out again.
Expand your joy vocabulary
Many of us struggle to label our positive emotions beyond “fine” or “good”. However, research suggests that finding more precise words to describe those feelings can strengthen them. ___19___
Imagine future successes
If looking at your calendar causes anxiety, pick an approaching event and think of the best possible result. For instance, if you’re tired but have a workout planned with a friend, imagine yourself feeling energetic and proud after the class. ___20___ Using positive images can also prepare you for more cheering experiences.
A. Plan small daily activities.
B. Make a list of simple activities.
C. Sharing your highlights with others can also strengthen bonds.
D. Such images in your mind can increase motivation and reduce stress.
E. So how do we break the cycle and find the motivation to get out there?
F. The goal is not just to remember how you felt, but to increase and experience the joy again.
G. When reflecting on your day, try to use specific terms like “inspired”, “delighted” or “peaceful”.

Emily’s now the head of a luxury brand with ad money to spend. This one is adapted from real-life stories.

【答案】4. A 5. A 6. D 7. B

【答案】8. B 9. A 10. D 11.

【答案】12. C 13. A 14. D 15. A
【解析】
【导语】文章围绕人工智能视频技术对网络内容创作者的影响展开,介绍了创作者们对AI的复杂态度以及不同人士对AI作用的看法。
【12题详解】
细节理解题。根据第一段“‘When AI videos are just as good as normal videos, I wonder what that will do to short video platforms and how that will impact the millions of creators currently making content for a living. There must be scary times,’ an influential content creator, Jimmy Donaldson, said. (一位有影响力的内容创作者Jimmy Donaldson说:‘当AI视频和普通视频一样好时,我想知道这会对短视频平台产生什么影响,以及这将如何影响目前靠制作内容谋生的数百万创作者。那一定是可怕的时刻。’)”可知,AI视频技术的发展将给内容创作者带来挑战和冲击。
【13题详解】
细节理解题。根据第二段“In July, Donaldson made an online tool producing AI-made thumbnails for the public, but removed the feature about a week later after heavy criticism from other creators. (7月,Donaldson制作了一个为公众生成AI缩略图的在线工具,但大约一周后在其他创作者的大量批评下移除了该功能。)”可知,Donaldson被批评的原因是他创建了一个AI工具。
【14题详解】
推理判断题。根据第三段“While more than 80% of content creators said they used AI tools for their content, including generating images and videos, one-third said they had concerns about the quality of the AI-generated content, and 45% said the technology would make it harder for human creators to stand out, according to a survey of 620 influencers. (根据一项对620名网红的调查,虽然超过80%的内容创作者表示他们在内容中使用了AI工具,包括生成图像和视频,但有三分之一的人表示他们对AI生成内容的质量有顾虑,45%的人表示这项技术将使人类创作者更难脱颖而出。)”可知,调查数据展示了创作者们既使用AI又对其存在顾虑的矛盾心态。
【15题详解】
细节理解题。根据第四段“Amjad Hanif, a head of creator payments and products, said that the technology could help balance the playing field among creators who may not have the same resources as Donaldson. (创作者支付与产品负责人Amjad Hanif表示,这项技术可以帮助平衡那些可能没有Donaldson同样资源的创作者之间的竞争环境。)”可知,Amjad Hanif认为AI的优势在于能够帮助创造更平等的机会。
