One possible version:
My Hero
Everyone has a hero in his life and there is a hero around me as well. My
hero is my deskmate, a girl with a warm heart and strong will.
She always gives a hand to others when they are in trouble. Last semester, I
hurt my leg and couldn’t walk easily. She carried my schoolbag for me every
day and helped me with homework after class. What impresses me most is her
perseverance—she kept practising running for months and finally won the race for
our class, even though she once wanted to give up.
Her kindness and perseverance teach me to be brave and caring. To me, a
hero is someone who brings warmth to others. She is such a person, and I’m
lucky to have her as my friend.
