On my first day in the classroom, I shared with them a 33 with the words “You are seen” on it and put it up on the wall. Some smiled shyly and some spoke quietly. “That’s why I’m here,” I said. However, Wen didn’t 34 . She was just drawing circles on the desk with her finger. Days passed quickly. The lessons were 35 planned. The children were kind. As everyone was frozen, a soft light appeared. It was Wen who was holding a 37 in her hand. “We can still read,” she said in a low voice. That was the first time I heard her voice. The next day, she sat 38 to her classmates. In the following days, she began to talk more. In my last class, she came up and gave me the lantern. “So you will always have some 39 ,” she smiled gently. I came to give light, but found it was quietly 40 . 后文作者疑惑“What would these students be like?” so“因此”表因果,since“自从”表时间或原因,when“当……时候”表示时间,均不合逻辑。 33. 句意:在教室的第一天,我和他们分享了一张上面写着“你们被看见了”的海报,并把它贴在墙上。能贴在墙上展示话语的通常是海报,应填poster。dictionary“字典”、book“书”和timetable“时间表”一般不贴在墙上展示标语。 34. 句意:然而,温没有抬头看。后文“She was just drawing circles on the desk with her finger.” stand up“站起来”、give up“放弃”和wake up“醒来”与语境动作不符。 35. 前文提到“But my effort seemed to make little difference. ”,因此作者怀疑自己做的事是否有意义,应填meaningful。simple“简单的”、interesting“有趣的”和popular“受欢迎的”不符合此时自我怀疑的语境。 37. 句意:是温,她手里拿着一盏灯笼。后文明确说到“she came up and gave me the lantern.”,此处对应下文,应填lantern。 根据后文“she began to talk more.”,此处表示她开始交流,说明心理距离拉近,坐得更近,应填closer。 A London’s Weather (Late December) Current Weather Temperatures on Dec 26th Next 10 Days’ Weather (Fri 26th Dec, 6:55 am) Time Temperature ·Highest temperature: 8°C (Sat 27th Dec)·Lowest temperature: 0°C (Fri 2nd Jan)·Most rain:        2.42 mm (Tue 6th Jan) ·Weather: cloudy 9:00 am 2°C ·Temperature: 4°C 12:00 pm 6°C ·Wind: 14 km per hour 3:00 pm 6°C ·Rain: 0.00 mm 6:00 pm 4°C 41. A。 B California had bad wildfires in Southern California in January 2025. Why wildfires spread fast in Southern California D. The harm wildfires brought to California’s communities 【答案】44. D 45. A 46. A 47. 根据“Strong winds and dry conditions caused the fires.” 根据“Governor Gavin Newsom said that over 7,500 firefighters and emergency workers were sent to fight the fires.” 根据“He also said the state was in a state of emergency to make rescue work faster.” A。 C According to a recent study, the Middle East is warming almost twice as fast as the rest of the world. Without a doubt, high temperatures will have deep influences on the development of the area. That shows the growing risk to humans caused by extreme(极端的) weather. With more and more extreme weather events, we must find better techniques to make predictions(预测) about them.   AI is a powerful tool. It can deal with information and provide advice to help us better understand and make predictions about the weather. Traditional weather models use information from satellites(卫星). But these models have their disadvantages: they are not very exact. They also fail to discover complex conditions of the air around the earth.         AI can overcome(克服) these disadvantages by using the technology of deep learning. It can learn from historical and real-time information and produce trustworthy predictions. AI can also deal with information from different places, such as satellite photos or online posts, to provide clearer pictures of the weather situation. A paper on the Pangu-Weather AI model has drawn a lot of attention. Pangu-Weather is the first AI prediction model that is more exact than traditional weather prediction methods. This model can increase the prediction speed by 10,000 times, making global weather prediction time drop to seconds. In May 2023, Typhoon Mawar appeared in the Pacific Ocean. According to the China Meteorological Administration, Pangu-Weather made exact predictions about the direction of Mawar five days before it changed its way in the eastern waters of the islands of Taiwan. 48. Which of the following is TRUE? A. High temperatures will have few influences on the area. B. The Middle East is warming faster than the rest of the world. C. Traditional weather models can discover complex conditions of the air around the earth. D. Traditional weather models use information from satellites and are very exact. 49. How can AI overcome the disadvantages of traditional weather models? A. By using information from satellites. B. By only learning from real-time information. C. By using the technology of deep learning. D. By dealing with information from the same places. 50. Why is Typhoon Mawar mentioned? A. To show how exact Pangu-Weather’s predictions are. B. To tell us about the risks of extreme weather. C. To talk about how useless traditional weather models are. D. To express that the problems of extreme weather have been solved completely. 51. You can also see some birds and a distant tower in the picture. It is called Lion and Beyond, which sounds like “Poetry and Beyond” in Chinese. This heartwarming artwork is just a small part of the imaginative world of Zhang Mingxiang, a 26-year-old artist from a village in Shandong Province, East China. Zhang’s artworks are based on things that happen every day and puns(双关语) in Chinese pronunciation. His creative drawings have won over 6 million fans on different social media platforms and he has sold more than 60,000 pieces on a video platform called bilibili. “I believe that today’s youths have their own thoughts and are good at expressing themselves. And my artworks give hope to those who have just started working, providing a channel for emotional expression(情感表达),” Zhang said. However, Zhang’s path to art was far from straightforward. He was born in a small village where his father made a living as a barber and by renting out comic books. Zhang’s interest in painting came from those comic books. Because of a lack of formal art education, some experts would say Zhang’s paintings were “not right”, which made Zhang think that this path might not be well-suited for him. Later, he decided to use Chinese ink brushes to draw, adding more creativity and vibrancy (活力) to his work, which made him popular online. Zhang’s life also got better by selling paintings. According to him, he could only make a few thousand yuan before his artworks won popularity, but now he is able to make more than 200, 000 yuan per month. His dream, however, is even bigger. “My goal is to share my work with more people and use humor to lift their spirits,” Zhang said. 52. How does the writer start the passage? A. A 53. D 54. B 55. 根据“In a golden field, a lion stands on its back legs, enjoying the warm sunlight. You can also see some birds and a distant tower in the picture. It is called Lion and Beyond”可知,作者通过描述一幅画来开始文章。故选A。 53. 根据“I believe that today’s youths have their own thoughts and are good at expressing themselves. And my artworks give hope to those who have just started working, providing a channel for emotional expression”可知,张明祥认为今天的年轻人有自己的想法,善于表达自己,而他的作品给那些刚开始工作的人带来了希望,为情感表达提供了一个渠道,由此可推测出作者在第四段提到张明祥的话的目的是为了解释为什么他的画如此受欢迎。故选D。 54. 根据“Because of a lack of formal art education, some experts would say Zhang’s paintings were ‘not right’, which made Zhang think that this path might not be well-suited for him”可知,由于缺乏正规的艺术教育,一些专家会说张的画“不对”,这让张觉得这条路可能不适合他,由此可推测出张明祥的艺术之路并不容易,即straightforward的意思接近easy。故选B。 55. 根据“Because of a lack of formal art education, some experts would say Zhang’s paintings were ‘not right’, which made Zhang think that this path might not be well-suited for him”和“Later, he decided to use Chinese ink brushes to draw, adding more creativity and vibrancy (活力) to his work, which made him popular online.” 故选A。 56. Strong winds and dry conditions caused the fires. They spread fast and changed quickly, putting many communities in danger. To protect people and their homes, Governor Gavin Newsom said that over 7,500 firefighters and emergency workers were sent to fight the fires. The state government did a lot to help with the problem. Governor Newso made a special rule to support communities affected(影响) by the fires that are still happening. He also said the state was in a state of emergency to make rescue(营救) work faster. The government got help from the federal government to support the work of dealing with the fires, including support for fighting three big fires: the Hurst, Eaton, and Palisades fires. California used all the resources they had for the fight. Local fire departments, state offices, and federal teams worked closely together. Other states also gave help: Oregon sent 75 fire engines, Washington sent 45, and smaller numbers were sent from New Mexico, Utah, and Idaho. This brought hundreds more firefighters. Before the strong winds came, the state’s emergency office had already put 65 fire engines, 7 helicopters, and over 105 special workers in dangerous places. CAL FIRE, the state’s forest fire department, sent over 4,700 workers, 31 helicopters, and more than 1,000 fire engines. Four shelters were opened to give safe places to live and basic things for about 500 people. “We are trying our best to protect our communities,” said Governor Gavin Newsom. For more information on staying safe during emergencies, people could visit the official web page: ready.ca.gov. 44. What made the bad wildfires in Southern California? A. Hot sun and little wind. B. Thick fog and wet weather. C. Heavy rain and cold winds. D. Strong winds and dry conditions. 45. How many fire-fighting and emergency workers were sent? A. Over 7,500. B. Around 600. C. About 4,700. Sent 75 fire engines to other states. 47. What is the main idea of the passage? A. California’s all efforts to fight bad wildfires B. How California got ready for future wildfires C. Why wildfires spread fast in Southern California D. The harm wildfires brought to California’s communities C According to a recent study, the Middle East is warming almost twice as fast as the rest of the world. 51. What might be the best title of the text? A. The Risks of Extreme Weather B. The Pangu-Weather AI Model C. The Climate Change in the Middle East D. AI-The Powerful Tool of Weather Prediction D In a golden field, a lion stands on its back legs, enjoying the warm sunlight. A. By describing a picture. B. By telling a story about a lion. C. By introducing a painter. D. By talking about the sun. 53. What is the writer’s purpose in mentioning what Zhang Mingxiang said in Paragraph 4? A. To introduce what his dream is. B. To ask readers to know more about him. C. To teach people how to express themselves. D. To explain why his paintings are so popular. 54. The meaning of the underlined word “straightforward” is close to “________”. A. hard B. easy C. free D. busy 55. What can we learn from the passage? A. In order to be successful, you must go in the right direction. B. Children in the countryside can make money by drawing pictures. C. Video platforms are not important for people to make money. D. It’s easier for children in the countryside to be successful. 56.
