A narrative essay
Write a narrative essay
A narrative essay tells a story. Like all good stories, it has three parts: the set-up, the conflict, and the conclusion. The setup tells you about who, what, and where.
The conflict always involves a challenge or difficulty that the characters face. The conclusion is the end of the story, where the problem in Part 2 has been solved.

Liu Jia stood behind the elderly man and wrapped her arms around his waist.
Finish the story......
It was a busy Saturday noon at a popular hot pot restaurant in Chongqing. Liu Jia, a 17-year-old senior 2 student, was dining with her classmates. Suddenly, a shrill cry came from the next table. An elderly man sitting alone was clutching his throat tightly, his face turning purple and gasping for air. His chopsticks fell onto the table with a clatter(咔哒声), and he couldn’t make a single sound. Other diners were panicking, some patting his back clumsily(笨拙地) while others pulled out their phones to call for help. Liu Jia’s heart raced—she recognized the signs of severe choking instantly. She took a deep breath, pushed through the crowd, and stepped behind the elderly man, ready to perform the life-saving manoeuvre.
Having calmed down, the elderly man held Liu Jia’s hand gratefully.
