What we like LinkedIn Learning offers courses in topics like music business and production, photography, video editing and production, and more. It gives students the option to join in an individual class for focused learning in a particular skill or pursuing a Learning Path, which groups together multiple courses around a broader topic. Learning Paths within the creative fields can prepare students for being recording engineers, graphic designers, fashion designers, and more. Students must pay for a LinkedIn Learning, but the company does offer a generous one-month free trial. What we don’t like The interface (界面) for LinkedIn Learning remains to be improved. Finding an explanation of what exactly a Learning Path is and how it differs from individual courses takes more time than it should have. Having to dig for specific information about what options are available through LinkedIn Learning could be a turn-off for potential students. What students are saying Positive reviews for the platform include praise for the variety of courses LinkedIn Learning offers, and the concise (简洁的) nature of its courses. Users also point out some negatives, like the lack of language options in courses. 21. What is the benefit of taking the creative courses? A. Making preparations for careers. B. Making great progress in studies. C. Adding more topics to the courses. D. Learning to build a network platform. 22. What is the limitation of the platform? A. It fails to update specific information. B. It can be closed by potential students. C. The prices of the courses are too high. D. A certain aspect isn’t user-friendly enough. 23. Why do users think highly of LinkedIn Learning? A. The platform is free for long-term use. B. Many options are available on the platform. C. The courses are interesting and educational. D. The courses are offered in multiple languages. B Melissa Guerrero-Brown weighed 190 pounds the first time she walked into a wrestling room. At that time, she had no idea what wrestling even was. A year later, wrestling led her down a path of devotion. Having lost 40 pounds, she is one of the most confident teenagers you’ll ever meet. “I feel confident,” Guerrero-Brown said with a smile. “I’m loving myself more.” She was first interested in wrestling, despite knowing nothing about the sport, for she saw kids who looked confident because of the sport. In middle school, she was told she was too fat to wrestle. “They said I couldn’t do it,” Guerrero-Brown said. She did “everything wrong”, Coach Jose Puentes said, the first time she was taught her first takedown. But she came back the next day and started repeatedly practicing the moves she was taught. “She’s the only wrestler,” Puentes said, “who consistently stays after practices.” Her clothes started to get too big. And it made her even more determined. The confidence was obvious in her wrestling style in a recent final, patient but aggressive. She lost in the final but still wept with joy over the silver medal, embracing her family with a smile. Even if she didn’t win, she felt she had another year to work 10 times harder. Guerrero-Brown has grown up with five siblings. Life was hard for her family. College was never a thought for Guerrero-Brown until she turned wrestler. Puentes said the sport became her ticket out. “Believe in yourself,” Guerrero-Brown said, when asked to give advice to other people struggling with weight. “Don’t let nobody get to you. At the end of the day, they’re not in your shoes. You got this.” 24. What initially attracted Melissa to wrestling? A. Wrestlers’ confidence. B. Her goal of losing weight. C. Her passion for the sport. D. Her friends’ encouragement. 25. What can we infer from her first takedown? A. She was criticized by her coach. B. She was too nervous to perform well. C. She was determined regardless of errors. D. She was not as clever as the other wrestlers. 26. How did Melissa react to winning a silver medal? A. She lost her confidence. B. She kept a positive attitude. C. She felt she could have done better. D. She cried because of disappointment. 27. What is a suitable title for the text? A. Tips on a Good Wrestler. B. Melissa’s Journey to College. C. Wrestling Matters in Weight Loss. D. Wrestling: Melissa’s Path to Success. C Most people can recall a time when they were in a bad mood after a long day at work and the barista (咖啡师) gave them a warm smile. Or maybe they overheard their bus-mate speaking German and ended up filling the morning commute (通勤) with a stimulating conversation about an upcoming trip. Strangers are around you most of the day, and what if you spend time interacting with them? A new approach urges just that. The Atlantic examines the benefits of speaking to strangers by discussing the work of psychologist Gillian Sandstrom. She considered herself an introvert (内向的人) growing up. However, about a decade ago, she started experimenting with talking to strangers. It was awkward at the beginning, but eventually Sandstrom got better at making positive connections with or smiling at the people she passed every day, and it made her feel better. Strangers represent possible relationships and interactions. If you take the time to drop a warm smile or a kind word to a stranger, at worst this interaction couldn’t be reciprocated. At best, you can sometimes have an extended conversation with a stranger, learn something interesting from them, or make a new friend. Nicholas Epley, a psychologist at the University of Chicago conducted a study, in which participants spoke to strangers on public transportation during their morning commutes. Not only did the group speaking to strangers report having a more enjoyable commute, but conversations with seatmates lasted, on average, 14.2 minutes. According to Epley, loneliness was one of the most dangerous social stressors and was even more physically harmful than overweight. “It’s larger than air pollution and it’s larger than physical activity and exercise,” he said. Making connections with those around us could ease loneliness and its harmful impacts. Considering all the benefits of conversing with strangers, why not take advantage of being around people you don’t know? Flash a smile or start up a conversation, and you may make two persons’ day better. 28. Why does the author mention the examples in the first paragraph? A. To show the value of a warm smile. B. To find spots for talking with strangers. C. To put forward the communication methods. D. To introduce the topic of interactions with strangers. 29. What does the underlined word “reciprocated” in Paragraph 3 mean? A. Evaluated. B. Remembered. C. Responded. C. Employed. 30. What can we learn from Epley’s study? A. Most commuters tend to talk with strangers. B. Physical activity helps to reduce loneliness. C. Social interactions make participants less stressed. D. Participants remove their negative emotions totally. 31. What is the text mainly about? A. Social interactions for stress relief. B. Benefits of interacting with strangers. C. Skills of getting along with strangers. D. Importance of talks during commutes. D About 20 million people die each year due to cardiovascular (心血管的) disease. Luckily, a team of researchers from the University of Nottingham in the UK have developed a machine learning algorithm (算法) that can predict your likelihood of having a heart attack or stroke as well as any doctor. The American Heart Association (AHA) has developed a series of guidelines for estimating a patient’s cardiovascular risk which is based on eight factors including age, cholesterol level and blood pressure. On average, this system correctly guesses a person’s risk at a rate of 72.8 percent. That’s pretty accurate, but Stephen Weng and his team set about to make it better. They built four computer learning algorithms, and then fed them data from 378,256 patients in the United Kingdom. The systems first used around 295,267 records to generate their internal predictive models. Then they used the remaining records to test and refine them. The algorithms results significantly outperformed the AHA guidelines, ranging from 74.5 to 76.4 percent accuracy. The neural (神经的) network algorithm tested highest, beating the existing guidelines by 7.6 percent while raising 1.6 percent fewer false alarms. Out of the 83,000 patient set of test records, this system could have saved 355 extra lives. In addition, the AI systems identified a number of risk factors and predictors not covered in the existing guidelines, like severe mental illness and the consumption of oral corticosteroids (皮质激素类). “There are a lot of interactions in biological systems,” Weng told Science. “That’s the reality of the human body. What computer science allows us to do is explore those associations.” This is where AI can transform preventative medicine. By using vast datasets to uncover complex, non-linear risk interactions beyond human analysis, these algorithms can enable earlier, more precise interventions. This represents a significant step toward a future where data-driven predictions fundamentally reshape proactive healthcare, moving beyond standardized checklists to personalized risk assessment. 32. How did the researchers get the findings? A. By testing 20 million people. B. By analyzing patient data. C. By asking doctors for opinions. D. By following the guidelines of AHA. 33. What is an advantage of the network algorithm compared with the previous system? A. Lower cost. B. Simpler operation. C. Higher accuracy. D. Wider applicability. 34. What can be implied in Weng’s words in paragraph 5? A. Human bodies are too complex to study. B. Doctors know a little about our bodies. C. There are many algorithms about medicine. D. AI can help explore body interactions. 35. What does the last paragraph mainly talk about? A. AI’s potential in preventative medicine. B. Algorithms are mainly for treatment. C. AI will replace human doctors in future. D. Standardized checklists are still the best. 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 You’ve likely come across the saying “You only get one chance to make a first impression.” It’s true, and quickly making a good impression on your teacher is an important part of having a successful school year. 36 Here are some ways to help you make a good impression. 37 Talk to the teacher for a minute or so if possible. This shows that you aren’t afraid to socialize and that you have confidence. Most teachers favor a confident student. Walk up to your teacher confidently, make eye contact, extend your hand, and say something you have in common. Wear a cheerful expression. Smile at every reasonable opportunity. Teachers are fond of students who are full of joy. It is important to look like you’re enjoying yourself during class. Some people think “dressing for success” in order to make a good impression. 38 Keep a positive attitude. Whether in class or out of it, situations won’t always turn out as you wish. Don’t let temporary difficulties influence your mood and appearance, though. 39 Teachers find it easier to get along with a positive person. Negativity spreads, but being positive spreads, too. Volunteer to help out. Don’t be shy. If the teacher asks for a volunteer to hand out study sheets or clean the chalkboard, raise your hand. And do it with a smile. 40 You can even offer to help out without the teacher asking for volunteers. A. Come to class ready to learn. B. Introduce yourself at the first opportunity. C. Do your best to avoid complaining or frowning. D. Show the teacher that you’re actively involved in class. E. But a nice smile is the easiest way to make a good impression. F. Don’t hesitate to ask questions if you don’t understand something. G. However, you don’t have to be the cleverest student to make a teacher value you. 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。 As a physician I worked in a large hospital. Rachel sat at the desk watching her classmates busy preparing the water jars and paints. She understood why Mrs. Weston asked her to sit down and got Lisa to fetch everything for her. It was always a disaster when Rachel tried to do art! Rachel sighed and reached out to dip her brush in some black paint and-oh, no! She knocked over the jar. The water spread across the desk and drowned the paper. Lisa called Mrs. Weston to see what Rachel had done. Rachel went red in the face. She jumped to her feet to get a cloth. Her chair fell over backwards. She turned round and her paintbrush caught Lisa across the face, giving her a black mustache. Lisa was so surprised that she fell back against a wire book stand. It came crashing down and the books went all over the floor. How clumsy! Rachel thought as she went home on the bus. The bus stopped outside her house. She jumped up and her elbow (肘部) knocked a woman’s hat right over her eyes. Oh, no! Rachel said sorry, got off and ran indoors. Mum wasn’t in the kitchen but lay in bed as she caught an awful cold. Rachel offered to make a cup of tea but Mum would rather wait for Dad. Rachel sighed. She understood Mum was afraid she would spill (贱出) it. But would you go to Mrs. Willow for some cold medicine? asked Mum. Rachel turned to the door at once. “But Rachel, Mrs. Willow’s house is full of beautiful things, so if she asks you to come in, you’d better say no.” Rachel sighed and ran out. Mrs. Willow was an old lady with white hair and sharp blue eyes living in an old house. She opened the door and invited her in. Rachel said why she came and that she preferred to wait outside remembering her mother’s warning. Mrs. Willow insisted Rachel come inside. Rachel took a deep breath and stepped in. She looked round Mrs. Willow’s sitting room and saw at once why Mum had been worried. 注意: 1.续写词数应为150左右。 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Paragraph 1: There were beautiful things everywhere-delicate vases and pots. Therefore, I suggest you combine AI feedback with your own professional comments. Besides, you can encourage us to reflect on both suggestions and rewrite our essays, which will help us make greater progress. I would greatly appreciate it if you could consider my suggestions. Yours sincerely, Li Hua 读后续写 There were beautiful things everywhere — delicate vases and pots. All the treasures seemed to be priceless with a long history. Wow, it is really a land of wonder.” Rachel couldn’t help admiring the elegance of the china tea sets and vases. Mom’s words echoing in her mind, curiosity still got the upper hand. She reached for one of them, but unfortunately, the vase slipped off her hand and lay in pieces on the floor. Her heart missing a beat, she felt terribly worried. With a smile, Mrs. Willow comforted her saying it had been broken before. Rachel sighed, staring at her. No worry at all. It’ll be, perfect after being mended,’ Mrs. Willow said, her sharp blue eyes shining. “Nobody grows up without being clumsy.” Rachel let out a long sigh and for the first time she felt good about her clumsy self. She believed what Mrs. Willow said must have the same magic as her special cold medicine. To her amazement, she returned home with the bottle of medicine safe and sound. (151 words) 附:听力原文 录音原文: Text 1 邀请对方去跑步 M: Sara, how about jogging with me after dinner? W: Won’t you see the new film with Allen? M: It will be on next Wednesday. You got it wrong. W: I’ve planned to work out at the gym, but jogging with you would be more fun on a cool summer night. Text 2 谈论老板 M: Can you tell me something about our new leader? W: Oh, yes. He is such an excellent person who can speak two African languages. In addition, he speaks French fluently. He also studied English at school. Text 3 为朋友担忧 W: Tom, why didn’t you go to Michelle’s party last night? Didn’t you get the invitation? M: Actually I did, but I was really not in the mood to do anything when I heard about my best friend Robert’s car accident. W: I’m sorry to hear that. Text 4 熬夜工作 M: Karen, you worked too late last night, right? W: Yes. The new project keeps me very busy these days. M: I must warn you if you carry on working like this, sooner or later you’ll be worn out. Don’t push yourself too hard. Text 5 喜欢的朝代 W: What’s your favorite dynasty in Chinese history? M: The Han Dynasty. I think it’s a golden age in Chinese history. What about you? W: I like the Tang Dynasty most. Chinese culture really flourished during that period. Text 6 难以坚持去健身房 W: Matt, the fitness coach texted me again. ⑥I signed up for the fitness class three weeks ago, but I only went to the gym in the first week. M: Why did you spend money on something you’re not interested in? There are many ways to exercise. The key is to have self-control. W: You can say that again! Let’s go to the mall. Shopping isn’t a bad way of exercising. I can keep going. M: ⑦Are you serious? I’ve got a lot of work to do and will pick up our son from school today. Aren’t you going to prepare dinner for us? W: All right. Text 7 谈论面试情况 W: Mark, I heard you went to a job interview this morning. M: That’s true. ⑧The interviewers seemed to be very interested in me after they read my resume. W: I’m not surprised. You have a lot of work experience and you mentioned all that in your resume. M: ⑧I believed I would get the job after they asked me a few questions, but I doubted that after they asked me the last question. W: What was it? M: ⑨It was about my weaknesses. I said I would feel uncomfortable speaking in front of large audiences. The problem is the work requires many presentations in public. After they heard my words, they just told me to go back and wait for their final decision. W: Well, don’t lose hope yet. Text 8 业余活动 M: What have you been up to, Janet? W: Nothing special. I go to yoga classes in my spare time. M: Do you want to lose some weight? W: ⑩Well, I can ease stress through exercise. You know exercise is good for our health, and it’s also a proven way to put us in a better mood. So it makes sense that yoga is a favorite activity among people who want to feel stronger and more relaxed. M: Is it easy to do yoga? W: Everything is difficult in the beginning. With time passing by, you will fall in love with it. M: For me, listening to music can help me relax and empty my mind. W: ⑪Listening to some light music can calm you down while doing yoga. You can kill two birds with one stone! Would you like to have a try? M: But it really isn’t my cup of tea. ⑫My doctor says I should do more exercise because I have a sedentary lifestyle and I’m a bit overweight. I used to take a walk every day, but it burned up calories slowly. Now I’m a member of the basketball club. W: Keep it up! Text 9 人物访谈 M: Mrs. Wirges, ⑯we’re delighted that you come to our show! I heard in 2017 you and your husband feared you might be at the end of your music careers. Is that true? W: ⑬That’s true. Our projects had all broken up or finished with no more work on the horizon, so we considered quitting for good. But then I had some good luck. M: Were you offered work? W: No. But I won a radio contest from WFMC Jams. The prize was two tickets to Bonnaroo, a music festival in Tennessee. I flew there with my husband. We put on shows and also tried to sell a few of our remaining CDs. ⑭We attracted the attention of a writer who put our story on MTV.com. M: Did it bring changes to your lives? W: Yes. ⑮That story led to more work and we started the band we named Monsterboy. Now we’re no longer worried about work. M: Well, you were really lucky! W: Yes. Without winning that contest, we might have stopped our music careers. I’m so glad I decided to enter the contest in the first place. Both my husband and I love music so much. We really didn’t know what else to do. M: Well, Mrs. Wirges, I hope your music careers will get better and better. ⑯We really appreciate you taking the time to share your stories with us. Thanks again for being here. W: The honor is all mine! Text 10 学生服务项目 W: Hello, everyone. My name’s Jenny Thomas. I’m from WSP, short for Worldwide Students Project. It is a service organization which was set up to improve international understanding. ⑰Now we’ve got volunteers from 30 different countries working around the world. If you’re interested in joining us, I’d like to tell you about some of the projects that are available. Depending on how long you want to be away, there are three kinds of projects to choose from: ⑱short-term projects lasting two or three weeks, medium-term projects lasting between one and six months and long-term projects which can be up to a year. ⑱The first project I’d like to tell you about is in Japan. It’s a village improvement project. You’d be working alongside local people, so you need knowledge of Japanese for that. ⑱It lasts for three weeks. ⑲The next one is a children’s holiday center in Poland. The work includes painting rooms, gardening, things like that. It’s a medium-term one lasting six weeks. The final project is for the medical students here. There is a placement available in a center for disabled children in India. You’d be providing medical care there. You’ll work for six months there, ⑳so you can get plenty of experience and do something worthwhile for the disabled children. 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
