Do you know “overthinking (精神内耗) ”? Many people worry too much about things that might happen or think back again and again about what they did before. In fact, the longer you think about something, the more tired and stressed you may be. But can we do something to stop overthinking?
Ethan, a 35-year-old salesman, often found himself staying awake at night, replaying a talk with his boss in his mind. “Am I right? Is there anything wrong with the talk?” The more he thought about it, the worse he felt. One night in bed, he noticed that his body was under great stress and it was hard for him to breathe. He decided to get out of bed and started doing simple exercise. After a few minutes, he felt less nervous. Then he kept his mind on his body, and stopped worrying too much about his mistakes. As he exercised more, he felt greatly relaxed.
Next time you start worrying too much or getting nervous, try to put your mind on your body instead. You may go for a walk or do push-ups until you are sweating (出汗). Holding something cold or warm can also help you feel better quickly. “4-7-8 breathing” is another useful method. That is to spend four seconds taking a deep breath, hold it for seven seconds and then breathe out for eight seconds. Soon, you’ll find your mind is peaceful again.
24.How does the writer start the passage?
A.By listing numbers. B.By telling a story.
C.By giving examples. D.By asking a question.
25.Which of the following shows the right order of Ethan’s experience that night?
A.②—①—③ B.①—②—③ C.②—③—① D.①—③—②
26.The underlined word “method” in the last paragraph means “_________”.
A.notice B.standard C.design D.way
27.Why does the writer write this passage?
A.To share some news. B.To offer advice.
C.To have a good sleep. D.To surprise the readers.
根据第1段Do you know “overthinking”?
26.根据最后一段“‘4-7-8 breathing’ is another useful method. That is to spend four seconds taking a deep breath...”

Ink-wash painting is an ancient and beautiful Chinese art. What happens if we use it in animation? For years, Chinese animators have worked on mixing the old with the new. Their works look really cool. China’s first ink-wash animation came out in 1960. It’s called Baby Tadpoles Look for Their Mother (《小蝌蚪找妈妈》). Children know that summer is probably the most interesting of all seasons. However, experts say this season is the most dangerous, especially for children aged 14 and under. In a study of children’s safety in the US, researchers found that nearly half of the injury-related (与受伤相关的) deaths among children happened in summer.

They are more likely to get into an accident or be injured. “While we encourage children to be active and spend more time outdoors, they need to understand the importance of safety,” said an expert.
To help children stay safe, the “Make It a Safe Kids’ Summer” Campaign was started during Safe Kids Week, from 7 May to 13 May.

51.advanced/dvanced 52.Unfortunately/nfortunately 53.lose/ose 54.reminds/eminds 55.warning/arning
Nowadays, human activities greatly influence the earth. Our natural environment can be easily 56 (affect) by bad habits. Many people carelessly keep 57 (pour) dirty water and rubbish into rivers and lakes. This will not only 58 (break) the balance of nature but also harm living things around us. To solve the problem, our government has made strict laws 59 (protect) the environment. Anyone who pollutes public places will be seriously 60 (fine). As middle school students, we should act actively. We can save water, avoid wasting resources and call on more people to live a green life. Only joint efforts can make our planet cleaner and more comfortable to live in.
56.affected 57.pouring 58.break 59.to protect 60.fined
will后必须接动词原形,break the balance of nature是固定搭配,意为“破坏自然平衡”,not only…but also…

All the animals, plants, and rocks in the film were drawn with ink and brush. The animators learned from the great artist Qi Baishi.
The film is only about 15 minutes long. But it took lots of work. Without computers, the animators had to draw everything by hand. One second of animation needs 24 pictures! To save time, the clever artists stamped (盖章) the tadpoles’ bodies on paper with a special seal (印章). Then, they drew the tails.
Baby Tadpoles Look for Their Mother won many prizes. From then on, ink-wash animations became popular in China. Now, animators are combining ink-wash painting with computer technology. That makes their works look fancy and cool!
28.How many pictures are needed for just one second of the cartoon?
A.12. B.18. C.24.
29.What part of the tadpoles did the artists stamp with a special seal?

Children know that summer is probably the most interesting of all seasons. However, experts say this season is the most dangerous, especially for children aged 14 and under. In a study of children’s safety in the US, researchers found that nearly half of the injury-related (与受伤相关的) deaths among children happened in summer.
Experts are not surprised by the study’s results. They always know summer is a dangerous season for children. During the summer, children are out of school and spend more time outdoors.
Here are some important summer safety tips from the campaign.
•Always wear your seat belt.
•Wear a life jacket when on a boat or doing water sports.
