Why is it so popular? Today, students face great pressure from exams and study. They often feel tired and anxious. “Love You, Old Self” helps them relax. It means accepting yourself and allowing yourself to take a break. For example, a student in Beijing writes this phrase after a hard exam to calm down. It helps them find a balance between hard work and rest.
The phrase is special because of the name “Old Self”. It sounds like a friendly nickname. It allows young people to talk to themselves like a close friend. Instead of saying “I am so stupid,” they can say, “It’s okay, Old Self, you tried your best.”
However, this does not mean giving up or being lazy. It is not an excuse to shirk difficulties. On the contrary, it gives young people power. By being kind to themselves, they can build a strong heart. This gentle power helps them face challenges bravely and find inner peace.

A. Because it is a traditional way to call friends.
B. Because it reminds people of their old teachers.
C. Because it sounds like a friendly nickname for oneself.
D. Because it makes people feel serious and strict.

Anger is a common feeling. Everyone gets angry sometimes. But if we cannot control our anger, it can make us lose our clear thinking and do things we may regret later. Learning to manage anger is very important for us .
When we are angry, our body changes. Our heart beats faster and we can’t think straight. In this state, we often can’t see the truth of a situation. So, the first step to solve a problem is to calm down.
There are some simple ways to control anger. One good way is to take deep breaths. Breathe in slowly through your nose and out through your mouth. Another way is to count from one to ten before you say anything. You can also walk away from the place or person that makes you angry for a few minutes.
When we control our anger, we can think clearly again. Then we can find the real problem and think of good ways to solve it. Remember, it’s okay to feel angry, but it’s not okay to let anger control you. Learning to manage anger is a very useful skill for teenagers.

Control Your Anger and Solve Your Problem
Have you ever controlled your anger and solved a problem better? I have, and it changed how I deal with problems.
Last month, my best friend Tom forgot our weekend study plan for the math test. I waited for him at the library for an hour, feeling increasingly annoyed. He finally called to apologize. I took deep breaths and listened to his explanation. He told me his little sister had a fever and he had to take her to the hospital. Instead of blaming him, I asked if she was better. Then we changed our study time. We both prepared well and got good grades in the test.
This experience taught me that effective communication always works better than shouting.
Thanks for listening.
