Passage 1
(2026·浙江嘉兴·二模)“Mom! Class is over. I’m hungry.” Beibei, a little boy with autism (自闭症), ran to his mother Wang Yiyi with a big smile after his daily treatment training. Those simple words made Wang’s eyes wet—for most children, they are just common sentences after school. But for Beibei, it took more than four years of hard work to say them out loud.
Beibei was found to have autism when he was two years old. At that time, he never spoke, never looked at others, and even had no body language to show his feelings. He just stayed quietly in his own little world, like a lonely star in the sky.
To help her son, Wang made a big decision: she gave up her job and spent all her time on Beibei’s recovery (康复). Every morning, she took him to the hospital for treatment. Every afternoon, they went to the recovery center. On weekends, Beibei also had art training to open his heart.
Day after day, with Wang’s full love and patience, Beibei made slow but great progress. He began to speak simple words, learn to take care of himself, and even make a little eye contact with others. When he was four, he started to go to kindergarten for half a day. It was a small step for others, but a very important moment for Beibei and his family.

Passage 2
(2026·浙江温州·二模)My wife Hannah and I don’t usually keep houseplants. Anything in pots always ends up either over-watered or under-watered. But after I received bad news about my health, I began to want something green in our home to feel better.
At that time, my friend Mitch came to give me a plant called lucky bamboo. It stood straight in the pot. I fell in love with it at once and decided to take care of it. I put it by the window where sunlight could shine in. Every morning, I gave it a little water and gently cleaned its leaves.
For weeks, the bamboo thrived. Its leaves were soft and bright green and it grew taller and stronger every day. But gradually, thin yellow spots (斑点) began to spread along the edges of the leaves. I watered it more often and added special plant food, hoping it would be well soon. However, no matter what I did, the leaves stayed yellow. Each day, I stood quietly by the window for a long time, watching the weak plant, wondering if it and I would both be able to go through the difficulties.
One evening, Hannah noticed my silence. “You’ve cared for it with all your heart each day,” she said softly. “Sometimes growth takes time, and recovering (恢复) needs time too.”
Hearing her words, I was no longer worried. At that moment, the weak bamboo standing before me inspired me to keep moving forward, just as I was trying my best to help it recover.

Passage 3
(2026·浙江舟山·二模)By the Christmas tree sat a nice mini bike. For a short moment, Lily was filled with great excitement. She couldn’t imagine anything better than getting that bike. Then, she saw a baby doll sitting on the sofa.
Then she knew that the mini bike was her brother Tommy’s and that doll would be hers. It was always like this. Tommy always got cool things: skateboards, science tools. The mini bike was just the latest cool thing. Lily always got the boring gifts: a set of toy cooking tools, nice dresses, beautiful hair bands. They were amazing for other girls, but she didn’t like them at all. To Lily, this doll seemed unusually boring again.
Tommy had seen that mini-bike in the front window of Moore’s Bike Shop, but hadn’t Lily too? Tommy had asked for the bike and had said it was the only thing he wanted for Christmas. Although Lily had the same thought, she was afraid to say it out loud. She was a shy girl, even in front of her family.
Tommy’s eyes grew wide at the bike. He knew it was his—no doll for him. He ran into his parents’ room and jumped up and down on the bed, “Thank you, Dad! Thank you, mum!”
At the same time, Lily walked into the other room silently. She was upset and a bit angry. It took a while for anyone to realize she was missing.
“What’s wrong, Lily?” Dad asked nicely. “Did you see your pretty doll?”
“I saw it,” she said unhappily.
“What’s wrong, honey? You won’t believe how long your father waited in line to buy that doll! It was nearly 30 minutes.” Mum said.
Silence. Lily’s mouth was fixed. Her face was pale. “Oh, Mum, you know Lily is never excited by presents!” her brother laughed. “Come out and watch me ride!” And so they did.

Passage 4
(2026·浙江嘉兴·二模)The Spring Festival has always been a time of getting together, going back home and welcoming new beginnings. A season filled with warmth, joy and the celebration of national and local traditions. However, this year, the festival became very special for me, as the gala (盛会,庆典,演出) stage was brought to Yiwu in Zhejiang Province, the location of my university, Zhejiang University International School of Medicine, and I was among the performers at China’s nationally televised 2026 China Media Group Spring Festival Gala.
The moment I walked into the hall, I realized the festival was beginning to have new meaning for me this year. The stage was huge, wonderful and filled with energy. The size of the show was also beyond anything I could have imagined. I soon realized the effort that went into making the gala possible. We spent long nights and undertook many rehearsals (排练) to perfect our performance.
One of the best highlights was meeting and being on the same stage with Chinese movie star Jackie Chan. I never imagined that my journey as an international student would lead to such an unforgettable experience.
Beyond the gala, my experience of the Chinese New Year this year was equally enriching. This year we celebrated with an annual Chinese New Year dinner hosted by our school, where we wrote the Chinese character fu for good fortune and happiness, designed our own decorations, and made dumplings together.
In the past, my experience of the Chinese New Year was mostly as a visitor appreciating the beautiful traditions. This year, I experienced it as a participant. Being part of the gala and celebrating with my fellow students made the festival feel more meaningful. I felt a sense of pride and belonging that I had not felt in any of my previous years here before.
This Spring Festival reminded me that it is more than a celebration: It is about community, contribution and creating moments that stay forever. The training went on endlessly. Over the following weeks, we learned more: CAT, DOG, FISH, BIRD and many others. They also showed us the marks in different shapes and sizes. I could remember them all, but I had no idea what they meant. When we were not training, we were locked inside our small cages. Last June, Zager visited the Community Food Bank of Macomb County to do volunteer work. During his time there, he interviewed workers and toured the bank. He soon discovered a serious problem. The food bank had a hard time providing support for people who faced hunger. Worried that more families would go hungry, Zager took action. He started a 10-day donation project with a goal to collect 10,000 pounds of non-perishable (不易腐烂的) food for the bank.
“Zager was such a thoughtful and kind young man,” said Pacholek, the food bank’s program manager. “He saw a problem and made up his mind to do something about it right away.”

Kapasi, who studies at a private school, felt shocked and decided to help. “ ▲ ” she said. She and her friends used computer skills to make an app called Food for Thought. It lets people give money to the lunch accounts (账户) of poor students in nearby schools.
Around 20 million American kids get free school lunches, and 2 million more can get cheaper meals. If their families don’t have money, students may go hungry or feel embarrassed to ask for help. Kapasi’s app is made to solve this problem.

Passage 15
(2026·浙江衢州·二模)I have now been learning French for two years. Recently I’ve noticed that learning French is quite similar to my practice of the djembe (非洲手鼓).
To be honest, I was good neither at playing musical instruments nor at learning foreign languages. But one of the great lessons of my childhood is that no one is naturally good at anything. There is a special joy in becoming good at something that I was incompetent at naturally.
As a kid, I learned to play the djembe. I had a pretty good ear for rhythm (韵律), but no physical control. For the first year, my performance was terrible. But after two years of practice, I started to make progress. When I finally decided to give up on the instrument, my teacher said my performance was “okay”.
But I didn’t just feel “okay”. I felt like a king because I knew where I came from. I knew the great distance (距离) between “terrible” and “okay”. While I believe in natural talent, I don’t think it’s worth talking about. If I want to have a skill, I just need to practice it again and again.
So, to speak French, I know I need a different mouth. My words and breath always seem to live elsewhere, even in my resting sounds between pieces of speech. For example, when an American is trying to think of something, she often goes “Uhh, Uhh.” But the French will say “Euh, Euh.” It is not enough just to remember all the words. You have to train your mouth to say them. You need a lot of practice.
My journey of learning French has continued. When I started to learn the language, my teacher told me it would take me five years to learn it well. Now, I’m thinking it could easily take me ten.

A.Why We Need Talent B.The Special Joy in Learning
C.How to Play the Djembe D.A Journey of Studying Abroad
Passage 1
(2026·浙江衢州·二模)Trevor walked home from the bus stop. It was the first time his parents wouldn’t be home to greet him after school. They had a meeting at his elder brother’s high school. Trevor finally had the house to himself.
He took out his key and opened the door. Trevor was greeted by his dog, Molly. “Hey, guy. Just me!” Trevor said. He put his key on the side table and threw his schoolbag on the floor. “What should I do first?”
Trevor turned on the TV and got some snacks. After watching a few shows, he looked at the dog. “Want to go outside and play?” He picked up a tennis ball, leading to the backyard. Taking the wooden stick out of the door track (滑轨), he set it on the floor—his mother always said it added more protection.
Trevor ran out with Molly, closing the door behind him. He ran after the dog all around the house. His cat, Misha, was lying up against it.

Passage 3
(2026·浙江杭州·二模)My family had a long-running cycle of growing up poor. Both my mom and dad came from large families with little more than the clothes on their backs. Their parents had also grown up with very little.
When I was five, I showed an interest in machinery. By Grade 3, I was learning to program using the BASIC language. Then, one day in high school, my computer science teacher suggested that I attend a computer camp. He gave me a brochure (小册子), and I excitedly took it home. That excitement quickly disappeared when my mom saw the price of the camp: several hundred dollars. That evening, I went into my room and cried my eyes out.
But a few weeks later, I got a phone call. It was the head of the computer camp telling me I had been admitted. I could hardly believe my ears. At that camp, I met many like-minded kids and learned how to build websites. It lit a fire in me.
Ten years later, I received another call from the camp director. “I’ve found something I think you’ll want to see,” he said, suggesting we meet. When we did, he pulled out a long handwritten letter that my mom had sent when I was 15. She wrote that I was a smart kid. She talked a lot about my early love for machinery and computers. She ended by saying she couldn’t afford the cost of the computer camp and hoped with all her heart that they would still accept me. I broke down crying at once.
Over the years, I continued to learn as much as I could. In 2014, I finally landed a job where I could use all my skills. Now, I’m proud to say that I’ve broken my family’s cycle of living poorly.
And all I want to do now is to sit down with my mom and thank her for everything she has done for me. Without her, I would never have the bright life I have today.

We enjoyed our time under the deep blue sky. We had more than enough to eat. We never worried about anything until one day, when I was about three.

Without warning they raised their guns and shot dead my mother and several of my relatives. As I was about to be shot, one of them said, “Keep that little one. He’s handsome and seems smart. We can make greater use of him.” I was then trained and made to do all kinds of stupid acts to make humans laugh.
③Now, years and years later, things are changing for the better. Our population is starting to grow again. My great-great-grandsons and granddaughters are able to move freely across the land. They search for food, water and places to rest. The little ones sometimes break crops and people’s homes. But they are not chased or harmed. There are no angry humans going after them. Instead, people leave them bags of corn and fruit on the roadside. The food leads them in the right direction back to their homeland. Drones (无人机) follow their progress and volunteers protect them from harm. The little ones do not have to worry about anything. They move around without a care in the world. They eat when they are hungry and sleep when tired. They swim in the river and play when they feel like it. No one asks them to move away from their land.

Route 102 is the busiest one in the city—it starts the earliest, finishes the latest and has the most passengers every day. But Yang has an amazing record: She drives one million kilometers safely with no accidents and no complaints (投诉) at all.
Yang is always kind to every passenger, and warm little moments fill her bus every day. One rainy day, an old man with a weak leg got on the bus very slowly. Yang stopped the bus at once and waited for him patiently. She even got up to support him step by step to a seat and told other passengers to look after him carefully. One cold winter evening, a little primary school student got on the bus alone, his hands red and frozen. Yang saw him, taking out a warm hand warmer from the convenience box and put it in his small hands. She even gave him a piece of candy to cheer him up. Such small but warm acts make her bus a happy and safe harbor for everyone.
To serve passengers better, Yang made a “Five-Heart Service Rule” by herself. She also put a convenience box on the bus, and filled it with medicines, raincoats, band-aids, hand warmers and other useful things by her own hands. She spends her free time remembering all the 138 stations and the places around them, so she can answer every passenger’s question easily. She is also good at saving energy. For 25 years, Yang has loved her job deeply. She works hard and is always ready to help others. In this ordinary ten-meter bus, she does great things with her kindness and responsibility.

However, Lily made a decision after a while. She needed to speak out what she really thought. Then, she took a deep breath, walked quickly outside.

D.Because she couldn’t get the bike she asked for.

A.Because they didn’t care about her.

3.What would Lily most probably do at the end of the story?

It is a reminder that every effort, every rehearsal and every shared smile contributes to these moments, making them unforgettable. What a great way to start the year!

2.What did the girl realize after walking into the hall?

Passage 5
(2026·浙江台州·二模)Leo found a turtle and named it Charlie. He hadn’t many friends because he was slower than other kids. He was slow in reading, slow in numbers, slow in understanding nearly everything. Leo thought he would never be fast, and he saw no way to be happy. But Charlie took care of Leo’s happiness. Every day, Leo came home and told Charlie what had happened.
Then one day Leo decided to take Charlie to school in a box. It was Prevent Forest Fires Week and there was a speech competition. When it was his turn, he set the box on the teacher’s desk.
“When somebody throws a match into a forest,” Leo began his speech, “he is a killer. He kills trees and birds and animals. Some animals, like tigers, are fast. But other animals” — he lifted Charlie out of the box — “have no hope. They are too slow. They will die. It isn’t fair for the slow ones.” He talked about Charlie the turtle and Charlie the friend. Then the minister promised a thousand gold coins to anyone who killed the dragon, but even the strongest men didn’t have the courage to try.
③In a mountain village lived Li Chi, a 16-year-old girl, who was clever and brave. She was tired of living in great fear and decided to fight against the dragon. Passage 8
(2026·浙江温州·二模)
We were mice, living in a cold, white lab. On our very first day here, the scientists showed us a picture on a screen. Below the picture there were a few strange black marks. A recorded voice repeated the same sound: “T-R-E-E, tree.”
The training went on endlessly. Over the following weeks, we learned more: CAT, DOG, FISH, BIRD and many others. They also showed us the marks in different shapes and sizes. I could remember them all, but I had no idea what they meant. When we were not training, we were locked inside our small cages. We grew tired and scared, and none of us understood why we had to learn these strange marks at all.
Then one day, my friend Jenner passed me a secret message. “Look at the sign near the door,” he said. I turned and saw a white card with rows of black marks — just like the ones we had been studying. Suddenly, something became clear. Those marks were not just shapes. They were words. My heart beat fast as I read the whole sign “NO CATS ALLOWED”. At that moment, I understood. Reading was not just training. It was power!
Later that night, I studied the words printed on my friend’s cage door: “To open the door, pull the handle forward and move it to the right.” I reached through the cage and did exactly what the sign said. A few seconds later, the door opened. One by one, we all learned how to let ourselves out.

Passage 9
(2026·浙江台州·二模)While most 11-year-olds were planning their summer vacation, JoJo Zager, a student from Michigan, America, was dealing with a much heavier challenge, fighting hunger in his own neighborhood.
To reach his goal, Zager came up with several ideas and put them all into action. He partnered with seven local libraries to set up donation bins. He also passed out flyers (传单) at his school and libraries to spread the project. With the help of his mother, he used social media to tell more people in the country about the project.
As the news of the “10,000 Pound Challenge” spread through local newspapers and television, the community joined in. Bins were soon filled with food like cereal, tuna, and canned soup.
Zager’s hard work finally brought in 6,000 pounds of food. Even though the total did not reach his 10,000-pound goal, officials say Zager really made a difference. His project got more people interested in the food bank. Because of it, many people wanted to be volunteers. Passage 10
(2026·浙江台州·二模)On her first day helping students from poor families at an after-school class in New York City, Alyssa Kapasi saw many kids waiting for free sandwiches and fruit. The food in the school dining hall was fresh and pretty popular. A school worker said these students never got enough to eat at home, so school meals were probably their main food.
Anyone who wants to give away money can choose a school or a student, and put money to the lunch account. Students can use the money to buy meals like other students. “It’s about dignity (尊严). No one should feel embarrassed to need food help,” Kapasi said.
The app is still being made, but Kapasi’s team has got money from local non-profit (非营利的) groups. They hope to put Food for Thought into use in New York schools by the end of the year and spread it across the country later.

Passage 11
(2026·浙江台州·二模)I was travelling alone after a long day of delays (延误) and missed connections. By the time I reached the train station, it was late evening, and most people were just trying to get home.
My train wasn’t coming for another hour. My phone battery was almost dead, and I hadn’t eaten since earlier that afternoon.
I sat on a cold bench, stared at the departure board (出发信息板), and felt both tired and upset because things didn’t go right on my trip.
After a while, an old man sat down a few seats away from me. We exchanged one of those quick, polite nods strangers sometimes give each other.
A few minutes later, he got up and walked toward the small café inside the station. When he came back, he handed me a cup of tea. I at once started telling him he didn’t need to do that. He just smiled and said, “Long day?” I laughed a little and said, “Very long.” He sat down again with his own drink, and we talked for a few minutes about trains running late. How strange it was to end up sharing quiet spaces with strangers.
When his train arrived before mine, he picked up his bag and stood up. Before leaving, he turned to me and said, “Next time you see someone having a long day, you’ll know what to do.” Then he waved and walked off toward his platform.
It was a tiny act, but it made me feel better. I’d been sitting there, feeling upset and tired, and suddenly, the whole day didn’t feel so heavy anymore.
I never saw him again, but I still remember that moment.

A.You shouldn’t talk to strangers during your trips.
B.You should take care of your phone while travelling.
C.You should remember to buy something for yourself.
D.When you see someone in need, you should offer help.
4.What is the best title for the passage?
A.A Man’s Train Ticket B.My Unhappy Trip
C.A Small Act of Kindness D.A Clever Stranger
【答案】1.B 2.A 3.D 4.C
【导语】本文是一篇记叙文,讲述了作者在疲惫糟糕的旅途中,因一位陌生老人的善意举动而感到温暖的故事。
1.作者感到糟糕的原因可直接定位:第一段“a long day of delays and missed connections”火车延误,对应①;第二段“My phone battery was almost dead, and I hadn’t eaten since earlier that afternoon”,作者手机电量几乎耗尽而且从下午起就没吃东西,对应②和④。因此正确组合为①②④。
2.第五段“When he came back, he handed me a cup of tea.”,直接说明老人给作者带了一杯茶。
3.第六段“Before leaving, he turned to me and said, “Next time you see someone having a long day, you’ll know what to do.””,结合老人给作者递茶的善意行为,这句话的含义是希望作者以后看到他人遇到困境时,也能伸出援手。
4.全文围绕老人递茶这一微小的善意举动展开,第七段“It was a tiny act, but it made me feel better.”点明主旨,讲述了这个善举如何改变了作者糟糕的一天,因此“A Small Act of Kindness”最适合作为文章标题。

②We were flying to spend a lovely week on the beach. We all got up early on the day we were travelling, because our flight (航班) was leaving at 10 am. But then we were really late leaving the house because my mobile phone went missing, so everyone had to help look for it. In fact, my brother and I had a fight about it. I was sure it was his fault (错) but then it turned out the phone was actually in the bottom of my suitcase (行李箱) all the time.
③Then of course our taxi got stuck on the way to the airport. It was awful. Dad didn’t say anything, but I knew he was angry. Then just before we arrived at the airport, I realized one of my bags wasn’t there. It was the one I wanted to take on the plane, with my music and books in it. That was really sad, but at least it wasn’t the bag with my passport in!
④Then we went to check our bags in. My brother had a backpack that weighed a lot, so he had to take some clothes out and wear them. I think by now, Mum was just eager for Dad to take the bags to the check-in desk, then go through security (安检) and passport control and finally sit down and have a nice cool drink! But there was worse to come. The man at check-in asked for our tickets and Dad handed them over. “Flight GE 186,” said Dad. The man took one look at the tickets and made a face. “I’m really very sorry, sir,” he said to Dad. “Your flight is indeed GE186 and your flight is at 10 am, but it’s tomorrow morning.”

1.文章开头用“Have you ever really looked forward to going on holiday and then ended up having a terrible experience?”的设问,引出下文自己一家的倒霉假期故事,起到了引入主题、设置悬念的作用。

3.原文依据梳理:第二段“my mobile phone went missing”,作者找不到手机 (③);第三段“Then of course our taxi got stuck on the way to the airport”,一家人坐出租车去机场 (①);第三段“I realized one of my bags wasn’t there”,作者发现一个包落在家里 (⑤);第四段“My brother had a backpack that weighed a lot, so he had to take some clothes out and wear them”,哥哥从背包里拿出一些衣服 (④);第四段“Dad handed them over to the man at check-in”,爸爸向工作人员出示机票 (②)。按照事件发生的时间顺序,正确排序为③→①→⑤→④→②,对应选项C。
4.根据最后一段:“Your flight is indeed GE186 and your flight is at 10 am, but it’s tomorrow morning.”,工作人员告知他们的航班是第二天上午10点,既然航班是第二天的,他们当天无法登机,最可能的结局是等到第二天再乘机。

1.What does the writer find while studying French?
A.It takes less time than playing the djembe.
B.It is more difficult than learning the djembe.
C.It has a lot in common with practicing the djembe.
D.It can help improve the skills of playing the djembe.
2.What does the underlined phrase “was incompetent at” in Paragraph 2 mean?
A.was bad at B.was interested in C.was bored with D.was proud of

A.He had natural talent for skills. B.He became perfect in speaking French.
C.He didn’t need to practice much anymore. D.He understood how much he had improved.
4.What can be the best title of the text?
A.Why We Need Talent B.The Special Joy in Learning
C.How to Play the Djembe D.A Journey of Studying Abroad
【答案】1.C 2.A 3.D 4.B

He took out his key and opened the door. Trevor was greeted by his dog, Molly. “Hey, guy. Just me!” Trevor said. He put his key on the side table and threw his schoolbag on the floor. “What should I do first?”
Trevor turned on the TV and got some snacks. After watching a few shows, he looked at the dog. “Want to go outside and play?” He picked up a tennis ball, leading to the backyard. Taking the wooden stick out of the door track (滑轨), he set it on the floor—his mother always said it added more protection.

Passage 4
(2026·浙江金华·二模)①I’m now very old and near the end of my life. But I can still remember many many years ago, I lived with my mother, aunts and cousins in a wild and beautiful land. We enjoyed our time under the deep blue sky. We had more than enough to eat. We never worried about anything until one day, when I was about three.
②On that day, a group of two-legged strangers appeared in front of us—I found out later that they were humans.

Passage 5
(2026·浙江温州·二模)Yang Yanfeng is a bus driver of Route 102 in Yinchuan. She has worked on this job for 25 years.
She found a smart way to use less natural gas (天然气) and shared it with her workmates, helping the company save more than 300 cubic meters of natural gas every month.
For 25 years, Yang has loved her job deeply. She works hard and is always ready to help others. In this ordinary ten-meter bus, she does great things with her kindness and responsibility. She often says, “This ten-meter bus is my home on the road, and making every passenger feel loved here is all I want.”
