One possible version: Approaching Nature Last week, our class organized a meaningful trip themed “Approaching Nature” to the botanical garden with the purpose of deepening our understanding of species diversity. Following our guide, we explored multiple themed areas, carefully observing various plants. Walking along the winding paths, we were amazed by the colorful blossoms and unique leaves. Under the guide’s instructions, we immediately accessed detailed introductions, which made the learning process both efficient and interesting. It was this unforgettable experience that made us realize the importance of harmonious coexistence with nature. I sincerely hope more such activities can be held to allow us to get closer to nature. 67. One evening, tired of my own worry, I finally picked up the script and began to read. To my surprise, the character’s feelings of being an outsider slowly started to make sense to me. I found myself reading his lines out loud in my quiet room. Each time, I imagined the scenes not as a performance, but as a true story I needed to tell. Ms. Jenkins stayed after school to practice with me, offering small corrections and constant encouragement. Her belief became a tiny, steady light in my growing confidence. On the night of the performance, standing in the dark behind the curtain, I took a deep breath. I could hear the murmur of the audience. My hands were cold, but my mind was clear. I remembered Ms. Jenkins’ words: “Just tell the story.” The curtain rose, and the bright lights hit my face. Though still scared, I spoke the first line. The words flowed out, not from memory, but from a place of understanding. I wasn’t just a student on a stage anymore; for those moments, I truly was the character, sharing his truth. When the final line ended, the silence was broken by warm applause. 听力材料 Text 1 接客户 W: Keith, have you picked up Mr. Lopez at the airport? M: Yes. I’m helping him check into his room now, and I’ll drive him to our company later. Text 2 豫园的夜间游览 W: Do you know Yuyuan Garden in Shanghai offers public night tours now? M: I didn’t know. Then I got busy with work. Now, I just feel lazy. W: I get it. But do you remember how good you felt after exercising? M: Sure. ⑭I slept better and had more energy. Now I feel tired all the time. W: Maybe start slow, like walking for 20 minutes a day. M: That sounds reasonable. ⑮And I can walk my dog in the park instead of just letting him play in the yard. W: And if your knee feels okay, try swimming. ⑯My friend Wesley runs a small gym near City Square. It’s not popular, but the swimming lessons are low in price. Text 10 对咖啡的热爱让山脉重焕生机 M: ⑰⑳In 2017, when Wang Dayong flew a remote-controlled plane over Shitizhai, a village on the eastern part of the Gaoligong Mountains in Yunnan Province, he found a land with a rich coffee history. ⑱Wang left his job as a TV cameraman in 2013 and started a documentary studio in Shenzhen. He came to this mountainous area for a business trip. That’s how he learned about the once-thriving coffee history dating back to the 1920s. ⑲Wang, as a coffee-lover, decided to make a documentary, tracing China’s coffee history and bringing attention to the unique Yunnan coffee and its special place in the global market. At the same time, coffee drinking in China has grown a lot since 2018, creating new opportunities. This inspired Wang to leave behind his successful studio and settle in the remote mountains. ⑳He set three main goals for himself: restore the land’s natural power, reshape local coffee bean production, and promote the rural value. 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 高一年级四月份英语素养提升答题卷 学号: __________ 班级: __________ 姓名: ____________ 分数: ___________ 一、选择题(95分) 第一部分 听力(共30分) 1. B As a mother and a professional working full time, I spent all of my 30 years saying yes. Saying yes to things I wanted to do, but a lot of the time saying yes to things I disliked. This was a people-pleasing technique that would affect people’s opinion of me: the woman who could do it all, so that I can obtain a nice fame in their mind. Little did I know that I was also developing an autoimmune (自身免疫的) disease, which I have to believe was my body’s way of telling me to slow down. I had severely swollen joints and brain fog but I pushed through so that I could look in the mirror at the end of the day and feel “accomplished”. The only things I was accomplishing were bad health and bad habits. And then a series of events changed everything: serious medical issues and losing my job. It took all that to help me see how intensely burnt out I was. I spent a lot of time thinking about where I had to be next instead of being present in the moment. But now, I wake up each day knowing that everything on my schedule has been purposefully agreed to. Looking back, I had the capability to suffer the pressure to say yes. I also felt it necessary to say yes, from driving people to the airport to seeing family every Friday night. I always wanted to solve everyone’s problems and offered sound and immediate solutions. It was one big “yes” to everything. I was everyone’s cheerleader, but forgot how to cheer for myself along the way. But saying no is being my own cheerleader. And it’s not saying no to caring for family and friends. Instead, it’s a minor change in mindset, taking a pause before automatically agreeing. I take a breath, do a quick count of my energy and ability before jumping in. 24. Why did the author say yes to things she disliked? A. To please her boss. B. To prove her profession. C. To earn herself a good reputation. D. To push herself to the limit. 25. How did the author deal with the changes in her body? A. She got rid of bad habits. B. She thought little of them. C. She slowed down her life pace. D. She paid more attention to her health. 26. What will the author do before saying yes? A. Find a cheerleader. B. Evaluate her situation. C. Breathe in some fresh air. D. Seek help from her friends. 27. Which of the following is a suitable title for the passage? A. Ways to Improve Time Management B. The Dangers of Autoimmune Diseases C. How to Build a Good Reputation at Work D.The Importance of Saying “No” for Self-Care C Researchers in Australia, who studied 1,500 people and their lifestyles, have found that having good friends can help you live longer. An American study of 10,000 students, over a period of 35 years, also found that if you make more friends than the average (普通的) person at school, you’ll receive a higher salary (工资) in later life. People need good social skills at work to manage people and work in a team successfully. These are the same skills we use to make friends at school. On average, teenagers aged between 15 and 17 have 500 “friends” on their favourite social networking site. Adults have 130. So if you believe this research, you might live for a long time and be very rich. However, according to Professor Robin Dunbar from the University of Oxford, it probably won’t make any difference. Dunbar studied the number of messages between users of a popular social networking website, each of whom had between 200 and 2,000 friends. He found that they always communicate with a maximum (最大量) of 150 people. Among these 150, Dunbar believes that around five people are close friends. You’ve most likely known them for a long time; they are probably old friends and you share all your good and bad experiences with them. Then there are ten more friends. Although they’re close to you, you may not keep in touch with them every week. Next there are 35 people who you might spend time with because of a shared interest. You aren’t close. And finally, there’s a large group of 100. You see or speak to these people at least once a year, but you don’t know them well. Beyond this number, Dunbar says, it’s impossible to make any relationship meaningful. If you have a lot of online “friends”, try this experiment: First take away anyone you haven’t been in touch with for a year. Then remove people you can’t remember and, finally, take away friends who you wouldn’t mind losing touch with. How many do you have left? How many of these people are actually good friends? According to the research, these are the only people that really matter. 28. What are the studies mentioned in the first paragraph mainly about? A. The number of friends you should have. B. The advantages of having a lot of friends. C. Some social skills you may need at work. D. Some useful advice on how to make friends. 29. What can be inferred from Dunbar’s study? A. Most social media connections fail to develop into meaningful relationships. B. The number of online friends directly determines one’s life quality. C. People with 2,000 online friends have a wider circle of close friends. D. Shared interests are the key to maintaining long-term close friendships. 30. What does the underlined part “this number” in Paragraph 4 refer to? A. 10. B. 35. C. 100. D. 150. 31. What does the text mainly want to show? A. You need to spend more time with your friends. B. There is a lot of research on the influence of friends. C. Friends are sometimes more important than family. D. It’s more important to have good friends than lots of friends. D From AI-made jokes to Harry Potter fashion videos, AI can be used to make funny things. But can it be as funny as a human? And if it can, does it present a danger to comedy (喜剧) writers in the future? That’s something performers have been looking at in this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe, running from Aug 4 to 28. Anyone can put on a show at the Fringe, and this year even robots were getting in on the act. One of Fringe’s big shows even used a small robot to come up with jokes from audience suggestions, which were then performed by humans. The results could be very funny, but sometimes they weren’t funny at all. That was part of the point, explained Piotr Mirowski, the show’s co-maker. “We do not use humans to ‘show off’ AI; instead, we use AI ‘to show’ its limitations, to showcase human creativity on the stage,” said Mirowski, according to the Guardian. But one performer at the Fringe said he’s using AI to make jokes for him because he’s out of ideas. Comedian Peter Bazely’s show has him playing a supporting role to “an entirely computer-generated (生成的) comedian” called AI Jesus. The Fringe review website, Chortle, talked about today’s AI concerns: “In a world where artists are worried that AI could end up doing their jobs for them, Bazely is said to be praying this one will do exactly that.” The reasons for companies wanting to use Al are certainly understandable, but the dangers they present to many people’s jobs are becoming more and more real, and that’s not very funny. From concerns in schools and colleges about students using ChatGPT for their work, to writers and actors worrying that AI could be used to replace them, fears about the dangers of AI are a hot topic in the world. Back in March of this year, a letter calling for a six-month stop on advanced AI development was signed by over 1,000 people working with AI technologies including Elon Musk and other well-known tech leaders, reported The New York Times. Then, in May, leaders in the AI industry signed a document warning that AI could present an extinction-level danger and “should be a global priority (优先事项) alongside... diseases and nuclear war.” 32.In what way is the Fringe unique this year? A.The AI-made jokes were very funny. B.It presented dangers to comedy writers. C.Some jokes were created by robots. D.Harry Potter fashion videos were shown. 33.Which of the following is true according to Paragraph 4? A.AI Jesus is an expert in jokes. B.Bazely was positive about using AI. C.Al was used to show its creativity. D.Chortle was concerned about the use of AI. 34.Why does AI present a danger in the future? A.Because many people will use AI to show off. B.Because AI can present diseases and nuclear war. C.Because well-known tech leaders will stop developing AI. D.Because some people will probably be out of work. 35.What’s the author’s attitude to the future of the AI development? A.Objective. B.Positive. C.Unclear. D.Negative. 第二节 (共 5 小题;每小题 2. 5 分,满分 12. 5 分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有一项为多余选项。 Ways of Studying and Learning Efficiently Choose a quiet place to study without distractions. The more time you spend studying, the more you’ll learn and the better grades you’ll earn. 36 So remove all distractions (cell phones, television, loud/fast-paced music, and talkative friends/family members), to ensure a calm, focused environment. Take short breaks from studying. 37 So plan to take a 10-minute break after each hour. If you get stuck on a certain topic, that’s a good time to take a little break so you can come back refreshed. Set a timer on your phone or another device so a short 10-minute breather doesn’t turn into 30 minutes of delay. 38 Reading books that challenge you can expand your vocabulary and comprehension skills, which is useful when a teacher assigns linguistically (语言方面的) difficult texts. If you are not already an active reader, start at your level and work your way up. Study for quizzes and tests early. If you have a big test coming up, start studying a few days to a week before the test, or even when the test is announced. Make a study schedule, breaking up your time into sections, and stick to it. 39 Create mind maps of topics to help you learn new things. Mind-maps help you make connections between old and new information. 40 This practice is especially useful when you need to brainstorm ideas for big projects. To create a mind map, write the topic in the center, add lines that point in different directions, and write your ideas on top of the lines. A.Remind yourself of your goals to stay motivated. B.Read as much as you can to expand your vocabulary. C.Your brain needs time to rest and digest information. D.But the quality of your study time needs to be efficient. E.These connections provide new contexts so you remember facts better. F.Find time to study when most of your friends are doing something else. G.Studying the night before a test doesn’t allow you to fully absorb information. 第三部分 语言运用 (共两节,满分 30 分) 第一节 (共 15 小题;每小题 1 分,满分 15 分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的 A、B、C、D 四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 When I was 16, I developed a great passion for photography. My uncle, a professional photographer, gave me an old film camera as a birthday gift. I was so 41 that I couldn’t wait to take it out and 42 it. However, the first roll of film I shot was a total 43 — most photos were either overexposed or blurry. I felt really 44 and even considered 45 the camera away. My uncle noticed my low spirits and asked what was wrong. I told him about my 46 and showed him the bad photos. Instead of criticizing me, he 47 me to study the basics of light and composition. He said, “Photography is not just about pressing the shutter; it’s about learning to 48 with your eyes first.” He lent me some photography books and 49 me to take photos of ordinary things around me — a cat napping in the sun, a leaf 50 in the wind, a mother hugging her child. I followed his advice. Every day after school, I would take my camera and 51 the streets, looking for little moments worth capturing. My world was backstage, between the tall, heavy curtains and the busy equipment tables. Among the lights and props(道具), I knew exactly where everything was and what to do. While others shone during rehearsals (排练), I found my place quietly supporting them from behind the scenes, feeling happy to be a helpful part of the team. My drama teacher, Ms. Jenkins, noticed this. She had a way of seeing the efforts that others didn’t. One afternoon, after everyone else had left, she handed me a script (脚本) for the year-end show. “The lead role,” she said, her voice calm and certain. “I believe you have a story inside you, waiting to be told.” Her words were kind but felt like a heavy responsibility, making me stand up straighter without thinking. My heart sank. The lead role meant speaking alone in front of everyone and standing in the bright spotlight, where I couldn’t hide. “But, Ms. Jenkins,” I stammered, holding the script tightly in both hands, “I’m not an actor. I work backstage. I might ruin the play.” The thought of forgetting my lines on stage filled me with a cold fear that made my hands feel stiff. She smiled gently, and her eyes were warm and encouraging. “Sometimes, the biggest growth happens when we face our fears, not avoid them. Try to read it,” she said, looking right at me, “not just as lines, but as someone’s true feelings.” For days, the script lay unopened on my desk, a constant reminder of my anxiety, and I avoided looking at it. Hearing my confident classmates practice, their clear voices coming from the hall, only made me feel more like an outsider, as if I was standing outside a closed door, unsure if I could ever cross the gap between us. 注意: 1.续写词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式作答。 Paragraph 1: One evening, tired of my own worry, I finally picked up the script and began to read. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2: On the night of the performance, standing in the dark behind the curtain, I took a deep breath. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $英语听力模拟试题15,第一节听下面5段对话。 Keh, have you picked up mister Lopez at the airport?
