Often honoured as “the first dish to try in China”, this famous dish, with its long history and former status as a royal fine food, promises foreign tourists a romantic taste and a memorable dining experience. The Beijing Qianmen branch of Quanjude, one of China’s best-known roast duck chain restaurants, could be a preferred choice for enjoying the roast duck. Located at Qianmen, it has been a rich commercial district (商业区) since the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). After dining at Quanjude, visitors can continue to explore the Qianmen commercial district. Local fine food, particularly at a restaurant called Donglaishun, known for its specialty — instant-boiled mutton (羊肉), a traditional hot pot dish — should not be missed. Mala Hot Pot In recent years, Chinese dishes featuring spicy (辛辣的) and mouth-numbing tastes, known as “mala”, have gained popularity, particularly in Southeast Asia. For foreign tourists who enjoy spicy hot pot, it is advisable to find out the most traditional cuisine (菜肴) in southwest China s Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municıpality, both well-known for their spicy offerings, with restaurants serving such dishes spotted throughout these regions. Guangdong Cuisine As one of the four major Chinese cuisines, Cantonese cuisine, or Guangdong cuisine, has continued to impress global food enthusiasts with its pleasant freshness, making it a nice choice for foreigners who appreciate a light taste. Foods such as dim sum, boiled shrimp, roast goose, bite-sized wonton (馄饨) and steamed spareribs with pickled plums (酸梅蒸排骨) are sure to call to mind the taste buds of diners. Travellers can get their fill of this cuisine when exploring the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, making it a fitting choice for winter tours. 根据文章第二段的“The Beijing Qianmen branch of Quanjude, one of China’s best-known roast duck chain restaurants, could be a preferred choice for enjoying the roast duck.(中国最知名的烤鸭连锁餐厅之一全聚德的北京前门分店可能是享用烤鸭的首选)”可知,全聚德北京前门分店以烤鸭而出名。故选A。 根据倒数第二段中“As one of the four major Chinese cuisines, Cantonese cuisine, or Guangdong cuisine, has continued to impress global food enthusiasts with its pleasant freshness, making it a nice choice for foreigners who appreciate a light taste.(作为中国四大菜系之一,广东菜一直以其清新的口感给全球美食爱好者留下深刻印象,对于喜欢清淡口味的外国人来说,这是一个不错的选择)”可知,广东菜的特点是清淡。 根据全文,尤其是第一段的“... promises foreign tourists a romantic taste and a memorable dining experience.(……承诺给外国游客一个浪漫的味道和难忘的用餐体验)”和倒数第二段的“... making it a nice choice for foreigners who appreciate a light taste.(对于喜欢清淡口味的外国人来说,这是一个不错的选择)”可知,本文主要是给外国游客介绍中国的特色美食。故选B。 B It was the final race of the season, the 800 meters, and my legs felt like lead (铅). The hot sun beat down on the track, and the roar of the crowd seemed distant. I had trained hard all summer, but now, facing my toughest competitor, Sarah Chen, doubt crept in. She always seemed to have an extra burst of speed at the end. The starting gun fired. We surged forward. The first lap felt surprisingly smooth, but as we turned into the second lap, the familiar burn started in my lungs. Sarah pulled slightly ahead. “Just keep her in sight,” I told myself, remembering Coach’s words: “Run your own race.” With 200 meters to go, the gap between Sarah and me widened. My legs screamed to slow down, and negative thoughts flooded my mind: “You can’t catch her. Second place is okay.” I glanced at the stands and saw my teammates waving wildly, their faces full of encouragement. Then, Coach’s voice cut through the noise: “Kick NOW, Mia! Everything you’ve got!” Something clicked. It wasn’t just about winning against Sarah anymore; it was about pushing myself to my absolute limit, about honoring all those hours of practice. I dug deep, deeper than I ever had before. My arms swung faster, my stride (步幅) lengthened, and I focused solely on the finish line. The pain was intense, but it was pushed aside by sheer determination. The last few meters were a blur. I threw myself forward. As I crossed the line, breathless and shaky, I had no idea who had won. Then I heard the announcement: “First place... Mia Johnson!” A wave of disbelief and pure joy washed over me. Sarah finished a split-second later, offering a tired but genuine smile and a handshake. “Great kick,” she said, breathing heavily. That moment of mutual respect meant almost as much as the medal. That race showed me more than just how to run faster. It reminded me that your biggest competitor is often yourself — the voice that says you can’t. And that finding the strength to silence that voice, even for just the final stretch, can lead to achievements you never thought possible. 4. How did Mia feel at the beginning of the race? A. Confident and energetic. B. Focused only on beating Sarah. C. Excited by the crowd’s noise. D. Doubtful and physically heavy. 5. When the coach shouts “Kick NOW, Mia”, the word “kick” most probably means ________. A. to ignore pain and continue moving. B. to hit the ground with one’s foot. C. to suddenly increase running speed. D. to focus on proper running form. 6. What is the symbolic meaning of Sarah offering Mia a handshake after the race? A. It reflects the universal sportsmanship spirit. B. It helps to cover Sarah’s disappointment. C. It highlights Mia’s physical superiority (优势). D. It indicates Sarah’s pity for Mia’s effort. 7. What does Mia realize is the most important thing she learned from the race? A. Winning against a strong competitor is the ultimate goal. B. Following Coach’s instructions is essential for success. C. Her biggest challenge is overcoming her own self-doubt. D. Physical pain is temporary, but medals last forever. D 5. C 6. A 7. 根据第一段“It was the final race of the season, the 800 meters, and my legs felt like lead (铅). The hot sun beat down on the track, and the roar of the crowd seemed distant. I had trained hard all summer, but now, facing my toughest competitor, Sarah Chen, doubt crept in.(这是本赛季的最后一场比赛,是800米赛跑,我的双腿沉重得像铅块一样。炽热的阳光直射在跑道上,观众的欢呼声听起来很遥远。整个夏天我都在刻苦训练,但现在面对我最强劲的对手萨拉·陈,心中的疑虑悄然涌起)”可知,米娅在比赛开始时感到怀疑且身体沉重。 【5题详解】 词句猜测题。根据第一段“She always seemed to have an extra burst of speed at the end.(她似乎总能在最后时刻爆发出额外的速度)”以及第三段“With 200 meters to go, the gap between Sarah and me widened. 根据倒数第二段“Sarah finished a split-second later, offering a tired but genuine smile and a handshake. “Great kick,” she said, breathing heavily. That moment of mutual respect meant almost as much as the medal.(萨拉只晚了不到一秒就完赛,她露出疲惫但真诚的微笑,并与我握手。“很棒的冲刺!”她气喘吁吁地说。那一刻的相互尊重几乎和奖牌一样重要)”可知,在比赛结束后,萨拉与米娅握手这一举动体现了普遍的体育精神。 【7题详解】 细节理解题。根据最后一段“That race showed me more than just how to run faster. It reminded me that your biggest competitor is often yourself — the voice that says you can’t. And that finding the strength to silence that voice, even for just the final stretch, can lead to achievements you never thought possible.(那场比赛不仅教会了我如何跑得更快,还让我明白,最大的竞争对手往往是自己——那个认为自己做不到的声音。而且,找到力量去压制住这个声音,哪怕只是在最后的冲刺阶段,也能带来你从未想过能够实现的成就)”可知,米娅意识到从这次比赛中她学到的最重要的事情是她面临的最大挑战是克服自己的自我怀疑。 C For Western designers, China and its rich culture have long been an inspiration for Western creative. “It’s no secret that China has always been a source(来源) of inspiration for designers,” says Amanda Hill, chief creative officer at A+E Networks, a global media company and home to some of the biggest fashion(时尚) shows. Earlier this year, the China Through A Looking Glass exhibition in New York exhibited 140 pieces of China-inspired fashionable clothing alongside Chinese works of art, with the aim of exploring the influence of Chinese aesthetics(美学) on Western fashion and how China has fueled the fashionable imagination for centuries. The exhibition had record attendance, showing that there is huge interest in Chinese influences. “China is impossible to overlook,” says Hill. “Chinese models are the faces of beauty and fashion campaigns that sell dreams to women all over the world, which means Chinese women are not just consumers of fashion — they are central to its movement.” Of course, not only are today’s top Western designers being influenced by China—some of the best designers of contemporary fashion are themselves Chinese. “Vera Wang, Alexander Wang, Jason Wu are taking on Galliano, Albaz, Marc Jacobs—and beating them hands down in design and sales,” adds Hill. For Hill, it is impossible not to talk about China as the leading player when discussing fashion. “The most famous designers are Chinese, so are the models, and so are the consumers,” she says. “China is no longer just another market; in many senses it has become the market. If you talk about fashion today, you are talking about China—its influences, its direction, its breathtaking clothes, and how young designers and models are finally acknowledging that in many ways.” 8. What can we learn about the exhibition in New York? A. It promoted the sales of artworks. B. It attracted a large number of visitors. C. It showed ancient Chinese clothes. D. It aimed to introduce Chinese models. 9. What does Hill say about Chinese women? A. They are setting the fashion. B. They start many fashion campaigns. C. They admire super models. D. They do business all over the world. 10. What do the underlined words “taking on” in paragraph 4 mean? A. learning from B. looking down on C. working with D. competing against 11. What can be a suitable title for the text? A. Young Models Selling Dreams to the World B. A Chinese Art Exhibition Held in New York C. Differences Between Eastern and Western Aesthetics D. Chinese Culture Fueling International Fashion Trends 【答案】8. B 9. A 10. D 11. The exhibition had record attendance, showing that there is huge interest in Chinese influences. 根据第四段中Hill所说的话“Chinese models are the faces of beauty and fashion campaigns that sell dreams to women all over the world, which means Chinese women are not just consumers of fashion — they are central to its movement.”(中国模特是向世界各地的女性推销梦想的美丽和时尚运动的面孔,这意味着中国女性不仅仅是时尚的消费者——她们是这场运动的核心。) 根据下文and beating them hands down in design and sales说在设计和销售上击败他们,由此推断出上文Vera Wang, Alexander Wang, Jason Wu are taking on Galliano, Albaz, Mare Jacobs的意思是Vera Wang、Alexander Wang和Jason Wu正在与Galliano、Albaz和 Mare Jacobs竞争。 D。 D Companies are used to celebrating addition. Profits (利润), customers and share prices should go up rather than fall. Larger numbers are a measure of career success: managers get promoted by taking on more reports, running higher budgets and earning bigger salaries. Companies are not always against subtraction (减法). Though not a welcome one, reducing costs is a necessary part of management, which is often undervalued. The best bosses are those who take things away as well as add them on. That means clearing time for employees to get work done. Meetings are almost always called by bosses, but only some of them are useful. Shopify, an e-commerce company, began the year by subtracting 12,000 meetings from their schedules, and reported a rise in productivity as a result. Subtraction is not just about removing day-to-day distractions (干扰). It’s also about making decisions to kill off projects and products that are going nowhere, and to focus efforts on the most important parts. Peter Drucker, a management theorist, was a supporter of “planned subtraction”, so that resources that are tied up in minor activities are freed for more profitable use. Bosses should, he advised, always ask the same question of every detail of the company: “If we did not do this, would it be any different?” In The Case for Good Jobs, a new book, Zeynep Ton of MIT Sloan School of Management argues that doing less can often make sense. Costco, a famous American supermarket that believes in the “smart loss of sales”, has purposely limited product choices. That means it can focus its buying power more effectively, predict demand more accurately and use its employees’ time more productively. “Less” may not sound like a great result for customers, but at some point choice is deeply tiring. When you have spent more time trying to decide what to watch on a streaming service than it takes to go to the cinema and watch the same film twice, few choices seem pretty attractive. 12. Why does the author mention the company Shopify in Paragraph 2? A. To present a fact. B. To draw a conclusion. C. To support an opinion. D. To make a comparison. 13. Which statement does Peter Drucker most likely agree with? A. Companies should give up unpromising tasks. B. Bosses should give up profits for resources. C. Bosses shouldn’t remove everyday distractions. D. Companies should focus on some unfinished work. 14. Which of the following measures is regarded as effective “doing less” commercially? A. Stores give customers more time to shop. B. Cinemas run only one particular film a day. C. Streaming websites upload more new movies. D. Supermarkets offer a limited variety of goods. 15. What is the best title of the text? A. The best companies celebrate addition. B. The best bosses know how to subtract work. C. Companies use numbers to measure success. D. Smart bosses are not for the idea of subtraction. C 13. A 14. D 15. 根据第二段“Companies are not always against subtraction (减法). Though not a welcome one, reducing costs is a necessary part of management, which is often undervalued. The best bosses are those who take things away as well as add them on. That means clearing time for employees to get work done. Meetings are almost always called by bosses, but only some of them are useful. Shopify, an e-commerce company, began the year by subtracting 12,000 meetings from their schedules, and reported a rise in productivity as a result.( 企业并不总是反对削减。 根据第三段“Subtraction is not just about removing day-to-day distractions (干扰). It’s also about making decisions to kill off projects and products that are going nowhere, and to focus efforts on the most important parts. Peter Drucker, a management theorist, was a supporter of “planned subtraction”, so that resources that are tied up in minor activities are freed for more profitable use. Bosses should, he advised, always ask the same question of every detail of the company: “If we did not do this, would it be any different?”(削减不仅仅是去除日常的干扰因素,还包括做出决定,淘汰那些毫无进展的项目和产品,并将精力集中在最重要的部分上。管理理论家彼得·德鲁克支持“有计划的削减”,即将投入到次要活动中的资源释放出来,用于更有利可图的用途。他建议,老板们在审视公司每一项细节时,都应始终问这样一个问题:“如果我们不做这件事,结果会有什么不同吗?”)”可推知,彼得·德鲁克最有可能赞同的观点是公司应当放弃那些毫无前景的任务。 【14题详解】 细节理解题。根据第四段中“Costco, a famous American supermarket that believes in the “smart loss of sales”, has purposely limited product choices. That means it can focus its buying power more effectively, predict demand more accurately and use its employees’ time more productively.( 美国著名超市好市多(Costco)坚信“明智的销售损失”是有益的,它特意减少了商品种类。 Nowadays, family life has become even more challenging than before. Then, how can we create a happier family life? Let’s see some advice. Enjoy togetherness. When children are babies, parents are advised to spend one-on-one time with their babies. ____16____ This can be a big mistake since enjoying each other’s company (陪伴) is one of the easiest ways for families to create lasting happiness. A. Talk more as a family. B. Let family members talk about activities. C. But, as children get older, the one-on-one time is reduced. D. Parents need to help their children manage their daily stress. E. Make quality conversation with your family members, instead. F. You can also try simpler ones such as camping overnight in your backyard. G. Regular communication like this can help you build stronger family relationships. C 17. A 18. E 19. G 20. When children are babies, parents are advised to spend one-on-one time with their babies. (享受团聚。当孩子还是婴儿时,建议父母与孩子一对一相处)”说明父母和孩子应该多相处, 父母应该多陪伴孩子,因此C项“但是,随着孩子年龄的增长,一对一的时间减少了”符合语境,故选C。 【17题详解】 下文“Although the Internet has certainly made communication easier, it is still important to have face-to-face time with your family members (虽然互联网确实让沟通变得更容易,但与家人面对面交流仍然很重要)”说明家庭成员之间面对面的交流非常重要,因此A项“作为一个家庭多说话”能够概括本段段意,故选A。 【18题详解】 上文“Try to avoid using your cell phone so much. (尽量避免过度使用手机)”说明在家庭谈话时要提高谈话的质量,因此E项“与家人进行高质量的交谈”符合语境,故选E。 【19题详解】 上文“Many families have regular meetings where they discuss issues affecting (影响) the family. This can be a great way to start talking face to face. (许多家庭定期开会讨论影响家庭的问题。这可能是一个开始面对面交谈的好方法。)”说明定期召开家庭会议是有积极效果的,空格处是积极效果具体体现之一,因此G项“像这样的定期沟通可以帮助你建立更牢固的家庭关系”符合语境,故选G。 【20题详解】 上文“Plan fun activities as a family. (作为一个家庭计划有趣的活动)”强调有趣的家庭活动,因此F项“你也可以尝试更简单的方式,比如在后院露营过夜”也是有趣的家庭活动,故选F。 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后各题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 For most, birthdays mean joy with family, friends, cake and gifts. She had prepared lots of snacks, while my job was to have the backyard in order. There was plenty of space for the kids to run and play. There was just one thing I hadn’t counted on: My brother chose to bring his dog Toby, a 50-pound ball of fire. Though friendly, he could easily knock over my niece’s small boys and my six-month-old granddaughter. So, when my brother showed up, I asked him to watch Toby and keep him outside. My plan was working out just fine. Toby was using up his energy by running back and forth in the backyard and giving the kids plenty of room. Unexpectedly, after supper, the weather changed. It started to rain and everyone went indoors. It was an awkward moment. I didn’t want Toby to be running around in the house, and my brother wasn’t happy with driving home with a wet dog. Eventually, my brother decided to leave rather than force the issue. A few days passed, and I hadn’t heard anything from my brother. I texted him and expressed wishes for him to come out again. His reply came as a surprise — a shock, actually: “Not a chance.” Clearly, he was unhappy over the way we had parted. After all, I had left him little choice. Well, he’ll get over it, I reasoned. Two months passed. My wife suggested I get in touch with my brother, but I resisted, thinking he should call first. However, my conscience (良心) kept bothering me. I tried to put myself in my brother’s shoes. He was facing health issues and his wife of thirty-five years had passed away a few months earlier. Toby was his constant companion, the one who kept him going. I realized it was me who was at fault. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ With the biscuits my wife had made, I arrived at my brother’s door. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】One possible version: I realized it was me who was at fault. I had been so focused on keeping the party under control that I failed to consider how important Toby was to my brother during this difficult time. My pride had kept me from reaching out, and now months had passed without a proper conversation. One evening, I picked up the phone and left him a voice message, apologizing for my behavior and asking if we could meet. To my relief, he called back the next day, and we agreed to get together soon. With the biscuits my wife had made, I arrived at my brother’s door. He opened it with a surprised smile, and for a moment, neither of us spoke. Then we hugged — something we hadn’t done since before his wife passed away. We sat on the porch with Toby resting beside us, and I handed him the box of biscuits. “Thank you,” he said quietly. We talked for hours, laughing, remembering old times, and slowly rebuilding what had been lost. As I watched Toby gently rest his head on my brother’s leg, I knew we were finally on the path to healing. 词汇激活 行为类 ①道歉:apologize/say sorry/make an apology ②拥抱:hug/embrace ③重建:rebuild/restore/reconstruct 情绪类: ①宽慰:relief/comfort/satisfaction/ease ②惊讶:surprised /shocked/astonished 【点睛】[高分句型1] I had been so focused on keeping the party under control that I failed to consider how important Toby was to my brother during this difficult time.(运用了“so...that...”引导结果状语从句以及how引导宾语从句) [高分句型2] One evening, I picked up the phone and left him a voice message, apologizing for my behavior and asking if we could meet.(运用了现在分词短语作状语以及if引导的宾语从句) [高分句型 3] As I watched Toby gently rest his head on my brother’s leg, I knew we were finally on the path to healing.(运用了as引导时间状语从句以及省略that的宾语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 内江六中2025-2026学年(下)高2028届期中 英语学科试题 考试时间:120分钟 满分150分 第一部分 听力(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共5小题;每小题1.5分,满分7.5分) 听下面5段对话。 1. C For Western designers, China and its rich culture have long been an inspiration for Western creative. Chinese Culture Fueling International Fashion Trends D Companies are used to celebrating addition. 12. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
