We often have questions about our health and daily habits. Let’s look at some common ones.
How much exercise should you do? We all know that sitting at the computer all day is unhealthy. But doing too much sport is also bad for your young body. You may easily get hurt. About an hour of exercise a day is right for a teenager. And don’t play sports right away after eating, or you might get a stomachache.
Is it OK to feel sad sometimes? Everyone feels unhappy from time to time, so you’re not alone. And it’s normal for your feelings to change at your age. If you’re worried about something, find a friendly person to talk to, like your parents, friends, or teachers. Talking makes problems easier.
Is loud music helpful to teenagers? Yes! It can be harmful to your ears if the music is too loud. But how do you know when it’s too loud? If someone sitting next to you can hear the music in your earphones (耳机), then you’d better make it quieter.
Are some foods healthier? I’m sure you know that a plate of fruit is better for you than a plate of chips. But your growing body needs different kinds of food, so eat more fresh fruits, vegetables and eggs. Such healthy food gives you energy for studying and doing exams.
13. According to the text, how long should a teenager exercise every day?
A. For about half an hour. B. For about one hour.
C. For about one and a half hours. D. For about two hours.
14. What does the writer think of the changeable feelings of teenagers?
A. Strange. B. Harmful. C. Special. D. Normal.
15. What’s the writer’s main purpose in writing the text?
A. To share some personal experiences. B. To explain the importance of a healthy diet.
C. To give advice on some daily healthy habits. D. To show the survey results on healthy habits.
16. What’s the structure of the text? (①=Paragraph 1, …)

First, think about our own feelings. Many people believe “If you are happy, then I am happy too.” 18. ________ If we feel bad about ourselves, it’s hard to help others feel happy. We need to take care of our own feelings first, just like putting on our own oxygen masks on a plane.
19. ________ If we always say “yes” to everything that others ask us to do, even when we have difficulty in doing it, they may think we are pushovers (耳软心活的人). Then we may be busy doing a lot of things we are not good at. This can make us unhappy. A study shows that when we are in a bad mood for a long time, things can get worse.

The world’s oldest and largest iceberg, known as A23a is moving again after being stuck (被困住) in one place for many years. It’s now moving through the Southern Ocean, near Antarctica.
A23a is about 1,312 feet thick and covers 1,418 square miles-just a little larger than Rhode Island. The BAS said the huge iceberg’s journey included many interesting scientific events. In 1986, it broke off from Antarctica’s Filchner Ice shelf. Soon after, it got stuck on the ground under the sea, which is common for large icebergs, and remained there for more than 30 years.
As parts of the iceberg melted underwater, it became lighter and started moving. Experts said this process is natural and probably has nothing to do with climate change. In 2020, A23a began moving north. In August 2024, it got caught in a column of rotating water (旋转的水柱) and stuck there until not long ago.
“It’s exciting to see A23a on the move again after months of being stuck,” said Andrew Meijers, an oceanographer (海洋学家) with the BAS. He and other experts will follow where the iceberg travels and study how it affects the ocean ecosystems it passes through.

It’s normal that we suffer from stress in our daily lives. I felt stressed when I had a fight with my friend Lucy while working on our group poster project. She thought I didn’t try hard, which made me so upset that I shut myself away for a day. I didn’t want to talk to anyone. Later, I realized I had to deal with it. I told her that we should talk with each other to clear the air. I tried to explain that I just didn’t know how to draw well, and she said she’d help me. We finished the poster soon.
This experience taught me that it’s helpful to talk out problems.
