If you looked at your social media on the evening of April 9, 2026, you might see something interesting. Your friends were sharing results of a funny personality test with names like “Malo”, “Dead Person”, and “ATM-er”. This is SBTI (Silly Big Personality Test), and it quickly became popular online.
SBTI is a funny test, just like the famous MBTI test. But MBTI is serious and divides people into 16 personality types. SBTI gives people funny names to laugh at themselves. The test has 31 questions and only takes 3 to 5 minutes to finish. You will get a funny name, a short description, and scores on 15 parts. But the test says: “This test is just for fun. Don’t use it for real life decisions, job interviews, or as a guide for your life. You can laugh, but don’t take it seriously.”
Who made this test? The maker is a Bilibili user called “Qurouer Chuaner”. He is not a psychology expert (心理学专家). He said, “I do not study psychology.” At first, he made the test to help a friend who drank too much stop drinking. He also said sorry: “I was not kind to everyone in the test. I am sorry if I made you unhappy.”
Why did SBTI become popular so fast? Experts say it is because young people have the same feelings. Today’s young people have much stress from school and work. The funny names in the test help them laugh at their difficulties. It makes them feel “I am tired, but it’s OK”. The test is also easy to share, so it spread quickly on WeChat Moments and Weibo.
However, experts say SBTI is not a scientific (科学的) test. “SBTI has no strong science behind it. The same person may get different results if they take it many times,” experts say. They tell young people to take it as fun, not to let a funny name tell who they are.

On the evening of March 21, 2025, a 10-year-old boy from Chiling Village, Lingshui, Hainan, went fishing alone in a small boat. He didn’t know that this trip would be dangerous later.
After hours in the warm sun, he fell asleep on his small boat. When he woke up, the sky was dark. Suddenly, the wind blew strongly and strong ocean currents (洋流) pushed his boat far from the coast. The boy tried to row (划船) back, but he failed. His boat drifted (漂流) farther and farther into the open sea. Remembering survival skills, he followed ocean currents and used stars as guides.
For nearly 16 hours, the boy floated (漂浮) on the sea. He faced terrible challenges, his skin turned red from the sun, and his clothes were covered in salt from the seawater. What’s worse, he had no food or water. He was tired but calm.
Luckily, the next afternoon, a fishing boat near Houhai Bay, Sanya, heard his weak cries for help. The fishermen quickly saved him. They gave him bread and milk. After eating up all the food, the boy slowly regained his strength (体力). Later, he told them his unbelievable story—he had drifted over 16 kilometers from his home!
The boy’s bravery and living skills made everyone surprised. His story also reminds us of the importance of safety, especially for children. Whether swimming, boating, or doing outdoor activities, we must learn safety rules, improve living skills and have an adult’s supervision (监督).

Listening to music can make you feel less sick when in a moving car, according to new research—but it depends on the type of song you play.
Motion (移动) sickness is feeling light-headed or like throwing up, often when you’re travelling by car, boat, plane or train. About one in three people are very likely to get motion sickness but almost everyone gets motion sickness if the movement is strong enough. Children are more likely to feel sick than adults, yet no one knows why some people fight against it their whole lives and others don’t.
People get motion sickness because their senses are sending different messages to their brains. In a moving car, for example, your eyes tell your brain you’re moving because objects are rushing by, but your inner ear tells you’re not moving at all. This can make you feel sick.
The volunteers were set up with equipment (设备) so that they felt like they were in a car, and small sensors were stuck to their heads to record electrical activity in their brains.
The team divided the volunteers into six groups. Four groups listened to music after a drive that made them feel sick; one group didn’t listen to anything and instead paid attention to calming themselves for one minute; and the other group’s “drive” ended before they started feeling sick.
The results showed that joyful music was more effective (有效的) at reducing motion sickness than anything else. Soft music was a close second, followed by lively music. However, sad music actually slowed down recovery. Even people who listened to nothing felt better sooner than those who listened to sad music.
32. What is the main finding of the new study?
A. A new method of keeping people healthy.
B. A new method of reducing motion sickness.
C. Advantages of listening to different music.
D. Advantages of preventing motion sickness.
33. The following sentence can best be put at the beginning of ________.
Led by Yilun Li, a brain scientist, at the Henan Institute of Science and Technology in China, a study chose 30 volunteers, all of whom were likely to get motion sickness.
A. Paragraph 2 B. Paragraph 3 C. Paragraph 4 D. Paragraph 5
34. Which of the following shows the correct order from the most effective to the least effective?
a. lively music b. joyful music c. soft music d. sad music
e. no music
A. a-c-b-d-e B. a-b-c-e-d C. b-c-a-e-d D. b-c-a-d-e
35. What can we infer from the passage?
A. Passengers can feel better if they watch a film on the train.
B. Passengers can feel worse if they open the window on the bus.
C. Motion sickness lasts as long in children as it does in adults.
D. Motion sickness happens when senses disagree with each other.

The Way Home During the Holiday
May Day holiday has just passed. Did you have a good time during the holiday?
Usually in China, college students start planning their trips home one or two weeks before a long holiday. They try their best to book train tickets online. However, after refreshing the booking page again and again, they may just see the words “Sold Out”. It makes them feel disappointed at first.
But the students are very smart. They think of many good and special ways to make sure they can get home on the holiday.
If there are no direct train tickets home, most students will use the “transfer strategy”. They buy tickets for several trains and travel through different provinces to get back home. If there are no sleeper tickets, they will choose hard seats, standing tickets or even long-distance buses instead. One student joked, “This trip is like a hard training!” All students have the same idea: as long as I can get home, it is all worthwhile.
Some students come up with more creative ideas. Instead of taking trains, they book one-day short travel tours. Luckily, these tour buses will finally arrive in their hometowns.
Some students even use moving apps to call small cargo vans (小货车) when they cannot take taxis. They just take the vans to go home. These ways are not common, but they show how eager students are to go home during the long holiday.
41. Do all college students get direct train tickets home during a long holiday?

42. What will students do if there are no sleeper tickets home?

A new diet trend (潮流) is getting popular on Chinese social media these days. It asks people to eat only hamburgers and steamed buns (包子) instead of their usual meals. It became famous after actor Zhang Weiyi said he lost 1.3 kilograms in just four days.
This “burger-bun diet” soon became a hot topic. Many people are interested in it, but others have doubts (怀疑). Liu Shaozhuang is a doctor from Qilu Hospital of Shandong University. He says this diet is just a low-calorie (低热量的) way of eating. It can help people lose weight quickly in a short time.
But he warns (警告) that this diet may cause constipation (便秘). He tells people to eat at least 500 grams of vegetables every day to keep nutritional balance (营养平衡). More importantly, doctors say this diet is not good for long-term weight control. It may make people lack nutrients, slow down their metabolism (新陈代谢), and make them gain weight again when they go back to normal eating. Steamed buns are refined carbohydrates. They can also make your blood sugar (血糖) rise very fast.
So how can we lose fat without losing muscle? Jin Jianhong is a doctor from Hangzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. She gives us two key rules: First, eat a balanced diet with enough high-quality protein (优质蛋白质) like eggs, fish and chicken. Second, do regular resistance training (抗阻训练) such as push-ups and squats to keep our muscle mass.
Doctors say healthy weight loss should be 0.5 to 1 kilogram a week. Never follow extreme diets blindly. It’s better to ask a doctor or dietitian (营养师) for help.
A new diet trend called “burger-bun diet” has become popular online recently. It became well-known because ____50____. Liu says this diet is just ____51____ and can only work for a short time.

____________________________________________________________________________________________
42. What will students do if there are no sleeper tickets home?
____________________________________________________________________________________________
43. What other ways do students go back home if there are no direct train tickets during a long holiday?
____________________________________________________________________________________________
44. If you were one of these students and couldn’t buy a train ticket home, what way would you choose to go home? Why do you choose it? (about 30 words)
____________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】41. No, they don’t.
42. They will choose hard seats, standing tickets or even long-distance buses instead.
43. They use transfer strategy (buy tickets for several trains and travel through different provinces), book special tour buses, and even call small cargo vans to go home.
44.
I would choose to take different transports to go back home. I think it is very interesting. I can see different scenery and experience different ways of traveling. Although it is a little tiring, it’s a special experience for me./I would choose to join a short-distance tour group to go home. It is very convenient and I don’t need to worry about tickets. I can also make new friends in the group and enjoy the trip happily./I would choose to go home by shared car with my classmates. It is cheap and convenient. We can also talk and relax on the way.
It also has many health risks. To lose weight healthily, Doctor Jin advises that ____52____. Doctors remind us that the right speed is to ____53____.
【答案】50. an actor lost weight quickly with it.
51. a low-calorie diet /a way to cut down calories
52. we should eat balanced meals and exercise often/we should eat well and exercise regularly
53. lose half to one kilogram weekly/lose no more than one kilogram weekly
【解析】
【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章主要讲述了一种名为“汉堡包子减肥法”的新饮食潮流在社交媒体上流行,介绍了其走红原因、医生对其利弊的分析以及健康减肥的建议。
【50题详解】
文章第一段末尾明确指出“It became famous after actor Zhang Weiyi said he lost 1.3 kilograms in just four days.”,题干问的是它出名原因,需要将“actor Zhang Weiyi”概括为“an actor”,并将“lost 1.3 kilograms in just four days”转化为“lost weight quickly with it”,因此第一空应填“an actor lost weight quickly with it.”
【51题详解】
文章第二段中医生刘绍庄的原话是“this diet is just a low-calorie way of eating”,题干中已有“this diet is just”,直接提取核心名词短语即可,注意不能照抄“a low-calorie way of eating”连续超过3个词,因此可简化为“a low-calorie diet”或“a way to cut down calories”,因此第二空应填“a low-calorie diet/a way to cut down calories”
【52题详解】
文章第四段中医生金剑虹给出了两条关键建议:“eat a balanced diet with enough high-quality protein”和“do regular resistance training”,题干句型为“Doctor Jin advises that...”,需将两条建议整合为一个从句,可概括为“we should eat balanced meals and exercise often”或“we should eat well and exercise regularly”,因此第三空应填“we should eat balanced meals and exercise often/we should eat well and exercise regularly”
【53题详解】
文章第五段第一句明确指出“healthy weight loss should be 0.5 to 1 kilogram a week”,题干中“the right speed is to...”需要将原文数据转化为动词短语,可表达为“lose half to one kilogram weekly”或“lose no more than one kilogram weekly”,因此第四空应填“lose half to one kilogram weekly/lose no more than one kilogram weekly”

According to the survey, 40% of the students in our school hardly ever exercise.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】 According to the survey, 40% of the students in our school hardly ever exercise. Only 30% of them exercise every day. 25% exercise once or twice a week, and 5% do sports three or four times a week.
There are three main reasons for this. First, students are under heavy study pressure and have too much homework. Second, they spend too much time on phones or TV in their free time. Third, some students are not interested in sports.
To solve this problem, we should make exercise a daily habit. We can take a short walk after dinner or play ball games with friends on weekends. Even small actions can make a big difference.
