Greet the class
Teacher: Good morning/ afternoon, class! How are you doing?How are you today?
Ask several students to respond

Pass around a ball or some other object. Give the object to one student and ask him or her to stand up and answer the questions.
For example:

Procedure.
Step1 Match the words with the pictures.Talk with your partner about what you do in these places.
(1) Show the pictures to students and help them understand the context.Ask them to identify objects in the pictures and encourage them to speak English, such as books, tables.desks, etc.
Teacher:Today we will have a tour around our school.Let's have a look.What can you find in the pictures?
(2) Ask the students to identify the places in the pictures. The teacher can write new words on the board, such as library, playground, lab, and classroom.Have the students spell out the words.
Teacher: Can you guess where it is?
(3) Put the pictures and the words and lead students to read the words to help them better understand their meanings.
(4) Ask the students to to discuss what they can do in these places.
Step 2.Read the passage and read the names of the places in the pictures.
(1) Have the students look at the picture and predict what they will read.
Teacher: What can you find in the picture? Can you predict what the passage is about?
(2) Ask the students to read through the passage and verify the predictions
(3) Have the students read the passage again to complete activity 2 and check the answers
(4) Ask the students to read the passage fluently,
Step3.Complete the mind map and make a conversation with your partner.
(1) Help the students understand the task in activities 3 and lead students to find specific information by searching for keywords.
(2) Help the students complete mind map individually.
(3) Ask the students to answer questions to check their answers,.
Teacher:Where do you have your science lessons? What can you do on the playground/at the library? Where do you have classes?
(4)Have the students work in groups to make up conversations and choose two or three groups to present their conversations to the class.
