Once upon a time there was an Old Woman who lived in a shoe. This shoe stood near a great forest, and was so large that it served as a house for the Old Woman and all her children, of whom she had so many that she did not know what to do with them.
But the Old Woman loved her children very much. And the children also thought of the best ways to please her. Strong-arm, the eldest, cut down trees for firewood. Peter made baskets of willow twigs (柳条). Mark was chief gardener. Lizzie milked the cow, and Jenny taught the younger children to read.
This Old Woman and her family had once lived in a nice house covered with ivy (常春藤), and her husband was a wood-cutter, like Strong-arm. But there lived in a huge castle beyond the forest, a strong giant (巨人), who one day came and left their house in ruins (废墟) with his club, after which he carried off the poor wood-cutter to his castle. When the Old Woman came home, her house was in ruins and her husband was nowhere to be seen.
Night came on, and as the father did not return, the Old Woman and her family went to search for him. When they came to that part of the wood where the Giant had met their father, they saw a large shoe. They spent a long time crying and calling out for their father, but met with no reply. Then the Old Woman thought that they had better take shelter (庇护) in the shoe until they could build a new house. So Peter and Strong-arm put a roof to it, and cut a door, and turned it into a house.
Here they all lived happily for many years, but the Old Woman never forgot her husband and his sad fate (命运). Strong-arm, who saw how sad his mother often was about it, said to the next eleven brothers that they should go with him and set their father free from the Giant.
Their mother knew the Giant’s strength, and would not hear of the plan, as she feared they would be killed. But Strong-arm decided to save their father.

【导语】本文是一篇记叙文,改编自经典故事《住在鞋里的老妇人》,讲述了老妇人一家遭遇巨人袭击后,被迫住进一只大鞋里避难,最终她的儿子决定去营救父亲的经过。
【4题详解】
根据第三段“This Old Woman and her family had once lived in a nice house covered with ivy... and her husband was a wood-cutter”可知,在巨人袭击之前,老妇人和丈夫及孩子们住在覆盖着常春藤的漂亮房子里,生活是平静安稳的。
【5题详解】
根据第四段“Then the Old Woman thought that they had better take shelter in the shoe until they could build a new house”可知,当时房子被毁,父亲失踪且夜幕降临,他们暂时没有找到其他庇护所,所以决定先住在鞋子里。

Do you know light pollution? In modern society, too much light has started to influence the environment. Light pollution is influencing human health and wildlife behaviors. There is a worldwide movement to reduce light pollution, and everyone can help.
Light pollution problem became especially serious when the World Map of Night Sky Brightness came out in 2016. Large areas of North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia are shining with light, while only Siberia, the Sahara, and the Amazon are in total darkness.
Man-made light can break natural body rhythms in humans badly. An increased amount of light at night lowers melatonin (褪黑素) production, which results in less sleep, headaches, stress and other health problems. Blue light, in particular (尤其), has been shown to reduce levels of melatonin in humans. It is found in cell phones, other electronic devices and LEDs.
Studies show that light pollution is also influencing animal behaviors. Because of light pollution, sea turtles lose their way, and often die when they migrate from one place to another. Even animals living under the deep sea may be influenced by underwater man-made light. Studies show that man-made light is changing ocean ecosystems.
The good news is that light pollution is reversible (可逆的) and each one of us can make a difference! Now, many people are taking action to reduce light pollution and bring back the natural night sky. People are required to use outdoor lighting only when and where it is needed.
8. How does the writer start the text?

In August 2025, 280 robot teams from 16 countries gathered in Beijing for the first World Humanoid Robot Games. They competed in football, athletics, dance, and martial arts. It looked like science fiction—but it was very real.
Behind the fun lies a serious competition between nations. China is taking the lead. According to Omdia, about 13,000 humanoid robots were shipped worldwide in 2025. Of these, 87% came from Chinese companies. American companies like Tesla held just 1%. The difference is huge and growing.
How did China get so far ahead? One answer is strategy (策略). While some Western companies focus on industrial robots, many Chinese companies build robots for “edutainment”—education and entertainment. These robots dance in malls and perform at sports events. At first, this might seem less important. But experts say it has a deeper purpose. By putting thousands of robots into real-world use, Chinese companies collect valuable data (数据) about power, life and movement. This helps them improve technology quickly.
This strategy also creates a supply chain. Producing thousands of robots requires many parts. This builds an industry ecosystem. As production increases, costs come down. China is making robots cheaper and better. However, hardware (硬件) is only half the story. Robots also need software—the “brain” that controls them. In March 2026, China introduced a new national standard for robot control systems. For the first time, different robots can share the same “brain”.
This standard was developed by many universities and companies including Huawei. It means a factory robot could be reprogrammed to work on a farm. Software can be reused like building blocks.
The robot race is about shaping the future. As robots enter homes and hospitals, the leading country will help decide how humans and machines live together. For now, China’s strategy is working. The robots dancing on stage today may be the ones helping in homes tomorrow. The race has just begun, and China is running fast.
12. What is the main purpose of paragraph 1?
A. To list all the sports in the Robot Games. B. To describe what the robots look like.
C. To introduce the Robot Games held in China. D. To predict the future of robot technology.
13. What advantage does China’s “edutainment” strategy bring?
A. It enables robots to be more intelligent. B. It focuses more on factory robots.
C. It helps collect useful performance data. D. It reduces the need for robot parts.
14. Why is the new national standard important?
A. It makes all robots look the same. B. It allows different robots to share software.
C. It stops foreign robots from entering China. D. It increases the cost of robot production.
15. What does the writer think of China’s future in robotics?
A. Promising. B. Stuck. C. Educational. D. Uncertain.
【答案】12. C 13. C 14. B 15. A

第三部分 写作(共两节,满分30分)
第一节(共5小题;满分10分)
阅读下面短文,按照题目要求用英语回答问题。
Lucy is a 14-year-old girl who loves classical music. Every time she listens to Beethoven’s piano pieces, she feels peaceful. However, her best friend enjoys rock music much more. This shows a simple truth: Even best friends may have different hobbies, and of course different opinions. It is OK to express your own opinions. It allows you to share yourself with others. But how can you share opinions without hurting others?
Listen to others carefully. Although you want to explain your side, listening to others explain their points of view first will help keep the conversation going well. Good listeners make others feel respected. Also, when your friend talks about rock music, don’t cut in. Listen carefully.
Express your own opinion politely. Instead of saying “Rock music is too loud,” Lucy could try, “I like softer music better, but your favorite song has cool guitar sounds!” Remember, you’re not trying to start an argument. Winning or losing is not the point. Don’t try to force your friend to think like you.
Value your friendship. When you disagree about some things, remind yourself that friendship matters. For example, a smile and a sentence like “We’re still friends even if we like different music!” can solve many problems. Over time, this respect will make your friendship even stronger.
Differences help us grow. As teenagers learn to accept differences, they discover new ideas and become wiser. After all, the world is full of different voices, and understanding them is the first step to growing up.
41. What kind of music does Lucy’s best friend enjoy more?
______________________________________________
42. What can you do to make others feel respected?

Dear schoolmates,
I am Li Hua. I am glad to be here to give a speech about “To be your best self”. What does it mean to be your best self? I think it includes three things.
To begin with, love yourself. You’d better live a healthy life, which means eating well, exercising, and sleeping enough. It is also a good choice to develop your own hobbies. What’s more, be thankful. You’re supposed to understand your parents and thank them for all that they do for you. Don’t forget your teachers and friends who always support you. At last, get close to nature. It is wise for you to protect the environment by saving water and reducing waste.

A. By telling a story. B. By asking a question.

10. What does the underlined word “migrate” mean?
A. Sleep. B. Eat. C. Drink. D. Move.
11. What’s the structure of the text?
A. ①/②③/④⑤ B. ①/②/③④/⑤ C. ①②③/④/⑤ D. ①②③④/⑤

D. Uncertain.

42. What can you do to make others feel respected?
