Shanghai has started building China’s first special industrial park for brain-computer interface (BCI, 脑机接口) technology. Known as the Shanghai Future Industry Cluster (上海未来产业集群) for BCI and located in the Hongqiao International Medical Center, this park will bring companies, researchers, and doctors together to work closely and develop new BCI technology faster.
At the opening event, a few organizations signed an agreement to work together. It was announced that new supporting policies (政策) and special funds (资金) would be provided to help companies in this cluster grow. This project is an important part of Shanghai’s plan to support future technologies.
Two important labs, both belonging to Huashan Hospital, have been set up in the cluster. One focuses on brain function remodeling and neural regeneration (脑功能重塑和神经再生), and the other works on turning BCI research into real medical treatments.
In recent years, Huashan Hospital has teamed with local BCI companies to help patients who have trouble moving or speaking. After training, these patients can do simple things again — like drinking water, controlling phone apps, using smart wheelchairs or home systems — just with their brain signals (信号).
The hospital is now studying how safe and helpful BCI technology is by testing it with patients across several hospitals in China. This important research could help make the technology available to many more people in the near future, bringing prospect to those with serious health conditions.

A. To improve the local business.
B. To train students to become doctors.
C. To speed up the development of new BCI technology.

The 2026 Government Work Report clearly states that China will support qualified (符合条件的) areas to have spring and autumn holidays for primary and secondary school students. As a heated topic, the policy has been piloted (试点) in provinces such as Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Shandong with valuable experience.
These short holidays bring great benefits to students. They can reduce study pressure after long periods of learning and help students stay healthy both physically and mentally. With pleasant weather, students can step out of classrooms to take part in practical activities, including farming experiences, nature observation and local cultural learning. In this way, textbook knowledge is turned into real-life experience.
The holidays also bring advantages to families. Staggered leave allows parents to spend quality time with their children at lower costs, away from the crowds of peak travel seasons. Many families choose to travel, visit relatives or visit museums together, strengthening family bonds. Meanwhile, the holidays help develop local tourism and economy, creating a win-win situation for education and society.
However, there are still some challenges. The main problem is that many working parents cannot look after their children during the holidays. To address this, many schools offer childcare services with colorful activities, and local communities offer more programs for students. The holidays can also be set flexibly according to local conditions.
In short, spring and autumn holidays for primary and secondary school students are an important educational achievement. They turn exam-centered education into a focus on all-round development. With efforts from families, schools and society, these holidays will help students grow in a healthier and more meaningful way.
8. Which of the following is NOT the benefit of the holidays for students?
A. Taking part in different practical activities.
B. Getting more time to learn textbook knowledge.
C. Keeping healthy both in body and mind.
D. Turning book knowledge into real-life experience.
9. What does the underlined word “address” in Paragraph 4 probably mean?
A. Speak to. B. Deal with. C. Write down. D. Look for.
10. What is the writer’s attitude towards the new policy?
A. Pleased. B. Doubtful. C. Worried. D. Uncertain
11. What is the text mainly about?
A. Ways to reduce students’ study pressure.
B. Advice on developing local tourism and economy.
C. How to strengthen family bonds during holidays.
D. An introduction to spring and autumn holidays for students.
【答案】8. B 9. B 10. A 11. D

【8题详解】
根据第二段内容可知,春秋假的好处包括“take part in practical activities”、“stay healthy both physically and mentally”以及“textbook knowledge is turned into real-life experience”。选项B与文中提到的“reduce study pressure”和“step out of classrooms”不符。
【9题详解】
第四段指出“The main problem is that many working parents cannot look after their children”,后句提到学校提供托管服务。为了“解决”这个问题,学校采取了措施。因此“address”在此处意为“处理、解决”,与“Deal with”同义。
【10题详解】
通读全文,作者使用了“great benefits”、“win-win situation”、“important educational achievement”等积极词汇,并在结尾指出“ these holidays will help students grow in a healthier and more meaningful way.”。
D“An introduction to spring and autumn holidays for students”最能概括全文主旨。

The Great Wall of China is one of the most famous landmarks in the world, often described as a dragon sleeping on the mountains. It is not only a pride of the Chinese nation but also a treasure of the whole world, attracting millions of visitors from all over the world every year.
Stretching (绵延) over 21,000 kilometers, the Great Wall is so long that walking its entire length is like traveling from Beijing to New York and back. Its building began more than 2,000 years ago, starting in the Qin Dynasty. At that time, different states built small walls to protect their own territories. Emperor Qin Shi Huang connected these separate walls into one continuous barrier. Later, during the Ming Dynasty, the wall was rebuilt and strengthened with bricks and stones, forming the structure we see today.
What makes the Great Wall even more remarkable is that most of it was built by hand, without any modern machines or vehicles. Millions of workers, including soldiers, farmers, and prisoners, carried heavy stones up steep mountains. Many of these workers never returned home. They worked in terrible weather conditions with only simple tools, but they never gave up. They continued their work because they believed that together, they could protect their families and their country.
For thousands of years, the Great Wall has stood as a powerful symbol of China. It represents not just the strength of stone and brick (砖), but the strength of the Chinese people. It shows the spirit of determination to keep going even when facing difficulties. Most importantly, it stands for unity. The Great Wall was not built by a single person or a single dynasty. Instead, it was constructed by countless ordinary people working together toward a common goal. This is the core of what China represents: when people unite, they can achieve what seems impossible.
The Great Wall also reminds us that every small effort is important. Each individual brick was small on its own, but when combined, they created an unbreakable structure. Each worker was ordinary, but together, they built a wonder of the world. Therefore, the true symbol of China is not just a wall, but a story of courage, patience, and unity.
12. People often compare the Great Wall to ______.
A. a famous landmark B. a sleeping dragon C. a valuable treasure D. a high mountain
13. What can we learn about the Great Wall from the second paragraph?
A. It was fully built during the Qin Dynasty with bricks and stones.
B. Its total length equals the single trip between Beijing and New York.
C. The Ming Dynasty connected separate walls into one continuous barrier.
D. Most of its current appearance comes from the Ming Dynasty’s reconstruction.
14. Why does the author mention the workers who “never returned home” in Paragraph 3?
A. To show that building the wall was a dangerous and difficult job.
B. To suggest that the Great Wall was built by slaves and prisoners only.
C. To explain why the Great Wall is considered a wonder of the world.
D. To argue that the Great Wall was not worth the human cost.
15. What is the main message of the passage?
A. The Great Wall is the longest wall in the world.
B. The Great Wall was built for traveling.
C. The spirit of unity helps people achieve the impossible.
D. The Ming Dynasty built the first part of the Great Wall.
【答案】12. B 13. D 14. A 15. C
【解析】
【导语】本文介绍了长城的历史、建造过程及其象征意义,强调了中国人民的团结、毅力和勇气。
【12题详解】
根据第一段第一句“The Great Wall of China is one of the most famous landmarks in the world, often described as a dragon sleeping on the mountains.”可知,人们常把长城比作沉睡在群山中的龙。
【13题详解】
根据第二段最后一句“Later, during the Ming Dynasty, the wall was rebuilt and strengthened with bricks and stones, forming the structure we see today.”可知,现存长城的结构主要是在明朝重建和加固形成的。A项错误,秦朝未用砖石建成现存结构;B项文中为“walking its entire length is like traveling from Beijing to New York and back”,即往返,不是单程;C项错误,是秦始皇连接的城墙。
文章最后两段重点升华了主题,第四段提到“when people unite, they can achieve what seems impossible”,最后一段强调“unity”是核心。因此文章的主要信息是团结精神能帮助人们实现看似不可能的任务。

On March 28, 2026, exciting news came from the WSBK race (世界超级摩托车锦标赛) at Algarve International Track in Portugal. A French rider, on a Zhangxue motorcycle, crossed the finish line and won the first place. He beat the second rider by nearly 4 seconds. This win let Chinese motorcycles step on the world’s top racing stage.
The man behind this success is 38-year-old Zhang Xue. His story is not only about a strong-willed man, but also means the development of China’s industry. Zhang was born in a poor village in Huaihua, Hunan. His parents separated when he was young, and he once made a living by picking up rubbish. At 14, he left school and became a learner in a motorcycle repair shop. With his deep love for motorcycles, he could even put an engine together with his eyes closed. At 19, he rode over 100 kilometers in the rain to catch up with a TV program team, just to get a chance to be noticed by a racing team. Later, he became a stunt rider (特技车手).
Knowing his own weaknesses, he went to Chongqing with only 20,000 yuan to sell motorcycles and set up his first brand. Zhang Xue stuck to self-developing engines (引擎). In 2024, he started a new brand named after himself. Finally, his fully Chinese-made bike made history in 2026.
