Dear Chris,
I’m glad to hear that you’ re interested in our School Culture Festival held last Friday.
A variety of wonderful activities were organized that day. Some students put on singing and dancing shows, while others took part in Chinese calligraphy and paper-cutting. We also tasted traditional local snacks.
The festival was really amazing. It offered us a good chance to relax ourselves and experience traditional culture. I truly had a great time.
Yours,
Li Hua

【范文】
At that moment, a wave of regret washed over Sarah. She reached out and gently held Emily’s hand. “I’m the one who should be sorry,” she said sincerely. “I was so caught up in my own feelings that I didn’t stop to think about what you were going through. How’s your mom now?” Emily’s eyes filled with tears again, but this time they were tears of relief. She shared the details of her mother’s condition, and Sarah listened attentively, offering words of comfort. Sarah then suggested they go to the pharmacy together to buy the medicine.
From that day on, Sarah changed. Whenever she felt annoyed or impatient, she would think of that day and try to see things from the other person’s perspective. She realized that everyone was fighting their own battles, and a little understanding could make a big difference. When Emily was late again, instead of getting angry, Sarah would ask if everything was okay. Their friendship became stronger than ever, built on a foundation of mutual understanding and empathy.

第一部分 听力(共两节,满分30分)
听力部分录音稿
(Text 1)
M: What are you working on so hard?
W: An article for the newspaper. If I am late, it won’t get printed until next week.
(Text 2)
W: Have you seen the new dishwasher? I’m pleased with its efficiency.
M: Yeah, its design fits our kitchen perfectly.
W: It is so quiet compared to our old one, plus it’s energy efficient, which is great for our bills.
(Text 3)
M: Our school magazine needs improvement. Do you have any suggestions?
W: Why not set up a regular column on student interviews?
M: Good idea. Let’s also make the cover design more attractive.
(Text 4)
M: I like to stay two nights, please.
W: Do you want full board or half board?
M: What’s the difference?
W: Full board includes all meals and half board includes just breakfast and dinner.
(Text 5)
W: How’s your team project coming along?
M: It’s going well. We’ve taken customer feedback into account to ensure the marketing campaign meets everyone’s expectations.
W: Are there any challenges you’re facing?
M: Balancing creativity with deadlines has been a bit challenging.
(Text 6)
W: Hi, Mike! It’s great to see you again! How’s it going?
M: Fine! I’m living in Boston, attending Harvard University.
W: Wow, so you’re still at university?
M: Yeah, I’m doing my Ph.D. It’s taking ages to finish and there is far too much to learn from the professors; kind of boring. How about you?
W: Well, I’m a sales manager at an American company. It’s pretty exciting.
M: I wish I were working like you already.
(Text 7)
M: Susan, do you like doing sports?
W: Absolutely. I first started doing sports when I was just 10 years old. I was learning to play basketball in a team. But it wasn’t a good experience.
M: Why?
W: I once got hurt during a basketball game. I had to stay in hospital for months. After I recovered, I was still afraid of playing it. So I left the team.
M: What sport did you do later?
W: A friend of mine introduced me to badminton and I really loved it. I did that sport for 4 years before I switched to tennis. What about you?
M: I started playing basketball at 10, same as you. I fell in love with football 2 years later and I have played it for 8 years.

W: Beyond diet, what else can I do to be healthy?
M: Getting 30 minutes of exercise a day is important.
W: How about having a beer on the weekend?
M: Less than a serving of alcohol a day can actually be good for you. Do not overdo it!
(Text 9)
W: This Monet painting is called Impression, Sunrise. It was one of the pioneer examples of the Impressionist style.
M: I’m so glad we came to this Impressionist art exhibit. Standing here, I’m reminded why I fell in love with art in the first place. My art teacher always said Impressionist painters were masters of color and atmosphere.
W: I’ve shown this masterpiece to so many friends. But I wouldn’t have known it without my mom. She studied so much about art history.
M: That’s wonderful. What do you think of the brushwork here?
W: It’s quite different from earlier periods. Some people relate this work to literary stories or even photos.
M: Interesting comparison. However, it lacks the realistic quality of statues or photos. I’d much quicker relate it to artwork created for novels. Also, have you seen the modern art exhibit downstairs?
W: Not yet. I prefer this classic gallery.
M: I agree. Though, I’ve had almost no exposure to works that are created nowadays. Some people love it, and others find it boring. But I’d love to decide for myself!
(Text 10)
NANJING — China’s first solar satellite, ASO-S, is scheduled to launch in the first half of 2022, marking the country’s first-ever mission to observe the sun.
The satellite will operate in an orbit above Earth to maintain a view of the sun 24 hours a day. It is expected to be in orbit for at least 4 years, according to Gan Weiqun, a researcher from the project. The sun is the only fixed star that can be studied in detail by humans. The vast majority of its radiation is blocked by Earth’s atmosphere. Only by sending satellites into space can a complete picture of the sun be presented for further studies.
The satellite will also realize its potential in space weather forecasting. Sun activities can be detected at least 40 hours ahead of their arrival by the satellite. This can help with early warnings of damage to Earth’s environment.
Since the 1960s, more than 70 satellites related to solar observation have been launched globally. The ASO-S is expected to fill China’s gap in the field, according to Gan.

As 17-year-old Torri’ell Norwood drove through Florida, last February, the laughter and chatter from the four teenage girls inside her car quickly gave way to screams. As they approached an intersection, another car T-boned them, sending their car sailing into the yard of a nearby home, coming to a stop only when it crashed into a tree.
As smoke rose from the car, a bystander shouted, “It’s about to explode! Get out!” Shaken, but otherwise OK, Norwood crawled out through the window as the driver’s side door couldn’t be opened. Along with two of her friends, who’d also managed to free themselves, she ran for her life. But halfway down the street, she realized that her best friend, Simmons, wasn’t with them. Norwood ran back and found Simmons unconscious in the back seat. She threw open the back door and pulled her friend out. She dragged Simmons a few feet to safety and laid her on the ground. After checking her pulse and found there was no sign of life, she started CPR.
Had the accident happened a few weeks earlier, she might not have known what to do. But just the day before, Norwood, who wanted to pursue a career in medicine, had earned her CPR certificate by learning on her own. Kneeling on the ground and looking down at her dying friend, Norwood knew she had precious little time to practice what she’d learned.
She started pumping Simmons’s chest with her interlocked fingers and breathing into her friend’s mouth in hopes of filling her lungs with the kiss of life. After quite a while, Simmons began coughing and taking quick deep breaths for air. The CPR had worked! Soon, the ambulance arrived and rushed Simmons to the hospital. And then she heard how her best friend had saved her life. “I wasn’t shocked,” Simmons told others. “She will always help any way she can.”

Artificial intelligence (AI) is no longer just a tool for engineers. It has stepped into the world of art, creating paintings, music, and even poems that surprise many people. But what does it mean for human artists?
In 2018, an AI-generated painting called Edmond de Belamy was sold for $432,500 at a famous auction. The painting was made by an AI algorithm (算法) trained on thousands of classic artworks. What shocked the art world most was not its price, but the fact that no human artist had touched a brush. This success made many people wonder: can AI replace human artists?
Supporters of AI art argue that it is a new form of creativity. AI can produce works that humans might never imagine. It can also help artists create faster and try more styles. For example, some painters now use AI to draft ideas before adding their own touches. They believe AI is a partner, not a competitor.
However, critics disagree. They say true art comes from human emotion and experience. AI can copy styles, but it cannot feel joy, sadness, or pain. A painting without real feelings, they argue, is just a collection of pixels (像素). It lacks the soul that makes art meaningful.
Today, AI art is still developing. It is clear that AI will change the art world, but whether it will replace human artists remains uncertain. One thing is sure: the future of art will be a mix of human creativity and AI power.
28. Why was Edmond de Belamy shocking?
A. It was sold at a very low price. B. It was painted by a famous human artist.
C. It was created without any human artist. D. It used a new kind of painting technology.
29. What does the underlined word “They” in Paragraph 3 refer to?
A. AI algorithms. B. Supporters of AI art.
C. Human painters. D. Classic artwork creators.
30. What do critics of AI art think?
A. AI art is full of creative ideas. B. AI art can work together with humans.
C. AI art will become more popular. D. AI art cannot show true human feelings.
31. What can we infer from the last paragraph?
A. AI art will soon take the place of human art. B. People have reached an agreement on AI art.
C. Human creativity will still matter in future art. D. The development of AI art will come to an end.
D
A new study shows that too much screen time in children is linked to a higher risk of depression, anxiety and ADHD. Traditionally, youth mental health problems were seen as something difficult to change. However, the study reframes the youth mental health crisis as a largely preventable behavioral issue, linking overtime screen use to a sharp rise in psychological disorders.
Drawing on data from more than 50,000 children aged 6 to 17, the research found that spending four or more hours a day on screens is associated with significantly higher rates of mental health issues. Heavy screen users face a 61% higher risk of depression, 45% for anxiety, 24% for behaviour problems, and 21% for ADHD.
Crucially, the study identifies why this relationship exists. Reduced physical activity and disrupted sleep are the main mediating factors that link screen time to mental health problems. Physical activity alone accounts for up to 39% of the link, while irregular bedtimes contribute nearly 24%, and short sleep duration just over 7%.
“What’s most important is that we now know the main determinants of mental health issues in children,” says Dr. Hannah Nearney, a clinical psychiatrist. “The chances can be significantly reduced with adjustments in behaviors such as physical activity.”
The problem is that these unhealthy habits are already common. Nearly one in three children exceeds healthy screen-time limits. Only one in five meets the recommended 60 minutes of daily physical activity, and just one in four maintains a consistent sleep routine.
Clinicians warn that the crisis extends beyond behavioral risks. Children face limited treatment alternatives and frequently use antidepressants (抗抑郁药物) despite safety concerns. Although non-drug technologies such as tDCS are gaining scientific support, children specialists agreement remains out of reach.
The study’s implications are clear: correcting children’s day-to-day routines and behaviour in relation to screen use, movement, and sleep need to be brought back to dinner-table conversations.
32. How does the author present the issue in the second paragraph?
A. By using figuers. B. By listing causes.
C. By quoting experts. D. By making comparison.
33. What can we learn from the relationship between physical activity and screen time?
A. More screen use improves high sleep quality.
B. More screen time leads to more extra exercise.
C. More exercise makes screen time more meaningful.
D. More physical activity contributes to a healthy lifestyle.
34. What does the study suggest as a solution to the crisis?
A. Using more antidepressants for children. B. Waiting for pediatric agreement of tDCS.
C. Increasing screen time to ease mental pressure. D. Changing children’s daily routines and behaviors.
35. What is the main idea of the text?
A. Overused screen time’s harm to kids’ mental health and solutions.
B. Common mental health problems among young children.
C. New research on children’s daily exercise and sleep.
D. Effective ways to treat children’s mental disorders.
第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Helping others can be one of the most meaningful things you do, but it can also take a lot out of you, making you lose sight of the fact that you need support, too. You might think pushing through is normal. 36 You need to learn how to invest in yourself and pay attention to your mental well-being.
Burnout doesn’t always look like exhaustion.
Burnout isn’t always obvious. 37 It can be irritability (易怒), lack of focus, or feeling like you’re disconnected from the work you used to enjoy. Being aware of the emotional signs early makes it easier to step in and make changes. That might mean adjusting your schedule, taking breaks when you can, or just giving yourself permission to unplug after a long day.
Learning something new boosts mental energy.
Doing the same routine every day can start to feel dull. 38 Adding something fresh to your day, like learning a new technique or exploring a new topic, can bring your energy back. A few minutes a day reading an article, watching a short tutorial, or engaging in a new task can refresh your mindset.
39
If you want to know how to invest in yourself, having control over your schedule can make a huge difference in how you feel day to day. When you’ re able to choose how and when you complete tasks, it reduces stress and helps you feel more balanced.
Small wins matter for motivation.
Sometimes big goals feel out of reach. That’s why small wins are so important. Checking something off your list — even if it’s just attending a class — builds positive drive. 40 Over time, those small wins lead to larger milestones.
A. Purpose is a powerful mental health tool.
B. Time flexibility leads to emotional stability.
C. It doesn’t just show up as physical tiredness.
D. Sometimes it can mean saying yes to extra tasks.
E. When that happens, your interest and motivation can fade.
F. But the truth is, constantly putting yourself last isn’t sustainable.
G. Each time you complete a step, you prove to yourself that progress is happening.

“Can’t you ever be on time? We’re going to miss the movie!” Sarah shouted at her best friend, Emily, who was still looking for her wallet. The two had planned to see a movie together, but Emily’s frequent lateness was driving Sarah crazy. “I’m sorry, I just can’t find it,” Emily replied, her voice shaking.
As they finally rushed out of the house, Sarah continued to complain. “This always happens. I’m tired of waiting for you. I plan everything, and you ruin it!” Emily remained silent, her eyes fixed on the ground.
When they arrived at the cinema, it was already ten minutes after the movie had started. “See? We missed the beginning because of you,” Sarah said angrily. Emily bought the tickets without a word.
During the movie, Sarah couldn’t focus. She noticed Emily was sitting quietly, looking down. Sarah’s anger began to fade, and she started to feel a bit guilty. After the movie ended, they walked out of the cinema. Sarah realized Emily was acting strange. Usually, she would be chatting non-stop, but now she seemed lost in thought.
“Hey, are you okay?” Sarah asked, a little worried. Emily looked up, her eyes red. “I’m really sorry about today. It’s just that... my mom’s been sick, and I’ve been under so much stress. I was looking for the money she gave me to buy some medicine.”
Sarah was shocked. She had been so busy being angry about being late that she hadn’t even noticed something was wrong with Emily.
