On a February afternoon, Andrea Coatti watched a Chinese snowboarder race down a course he helped build for the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympic Winter Games. He shouted “Steady! Beautiful!” in Mandarin (普通话), his voice mixing with the cheers of the crowd. In China’s Chongli, the 41-year-old Italian is known as Yibu, a Chinese name he gave himself, meaning “one step”. This name comes from his life philosophy (哲学)—taking things one step at a time, and it also reminds him of the important choice he made 20 years ago.
In 2006, Coatti came to Chongli to help build a ski resort at his teacher’s invitation. At first, he was shocked by the dark night there, but the beautiful snow-covered mountains and the warm, friendly local people made him decide to stay. Back then, Chongli was a quiet mountain town with only a few, simple ski areas, and few people knew how to ski. Coatti hoped to build a place where everyone, from beginners to pros, could enjoy the fun of skiing.
Later, Coatti and his partner Simon Adams, a Scot with the same interest for skiing, set up a company and built many parks in Chongli. They even helped build the venue (场馆) for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. With the rich Olympic experience, they got more international projects. Over the years, Chongli has changed greatly: high-speed rail connects it to Beijing in less than an hour, and it has become a popular international ski center.
What makes Coatti happiest is seeing many children skiing happily in Chongli. Once, there were very few young skiers, but now kids from all over China come here to learn skiing. “A love for snow starts with a seed,” he said. Coatti now lives in Chongli and sees himself as a local, and his “one step” in this small town has become a big leap (飞跃) connecting China and Italy.
59.What does Coatti’s Chinese name mean?
A.One step. B.Beautiful snow. C.Ski resort. D.Big leap.
60.What made Coatti choose to stay in Chongli at first?
A.The good pay of his job. B.His interest in learning Mandarin.
C.His love for dark nights. D.The beautiful scenery and kind locals.
61.How has Chongli changed over these years?
A.It has the most ski areas in China.
B.It becomes the center for Italian skiers.
C.It has many foreign visitors to ski now.
D.It takes several hours to get to Beijing.
62.What’s the main idea of this passage?
A.To show how Coatti helped Chongli develop.
B.To tell the history of development in Chongli.
C.To talk about Coatti’s life in Italy and his work.
D.To introduce the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympic Winter Games.
【答案】59.A 60.D 61.C 62.A

60.根据第二段“the beautiful snow-covered mountains and the warm, friendly local people made him decide to stay”可知,美丽的雪景和友善的当地人让他决定留下。
61.根据第三段“Over the years, Chongli has changed greatly: high-speed rail connects it to Beijing in less than an hour, and it has become a popular international ski center.”可知,崇礼已成为热门的国际滑雪中心,因此现在有许多外国游客来滑雪。

Donald Austin is a teacher. He had a serious accident several months ago. And he had to spend three months in hospital. He also had part of his left leg cut off.
Now he was able to go back home. Donald thought he could go up the steps to the front door of his home using a walking stick. But he wasn’t as strong as he had hoped. And the wheelchair (轮椅) was too heavy. His wife, Jennifer Austin, couldn’t lift it up the steps; even with his mother’s help. Donald gave up at last. And the family all felt very upset. They were out of strength and almost lost hope.
Just then, a car caught their eye. It had driven past but was slowly turning back. The stranger, Steven Smith, came up and asked if he could help. The family watched Smith help Donald go inside the house and place him carefully on the sofa. But Smith knew there was still more to do.
He thought Donald might have to climb those steps many times in the future. So the next day, Smith came to Donald’s house again. He asked if he could build a ramp (斜坡) in front of the house. With some other helping hands, Mr. Smith built a ramp over the steps. And now the wheelchair can go up and down easily. The kind act brought the family to tears.
“This stranger has saved the day for us twice within 24 hours,” Jennifer wrote on Facebook. “He brought us hope and made our day more beautiful.”
63.Why couldn’t Donald’s family get him into the house at first?
A.Donald was too heavy.
B.The steps were too high for them.
C.Donald refused to use the walking stick.
D.They couldn’t lift the wheelchair up the steps.
64.How did Steven Smith “save the day” for the family the second time?
A.He sent Donald to hospital.
B.He helped Donald go inside the house.
C.He called more friends to help the family.
D.He built a ramp for Donald in front of his house.
65.Which of the following can best describe Steven Smith?
A.Clever and humorous. B.Kind and helpful.
C.Honest and polite. D.Kind and hard-working.
63.第二段提到:“His wife, Jennifer Austin, couldn’t lift it up the steps; even with his mother’s help.”,这直接说明Donald的家人一开始无法把他弄进屋是因为他们无法把轮椅抬上台阶。
64.第四段提到:“He asked if he could build a ramp (斜坡) in front of the house. With some other helping hands, Mr. Smith built a ramp over the steps.”,说明Steven Smith第二次“拯救了这个家庭”是在Donald家门前为他建了一个斜坡。
65.第三段提到Steven Smith主动询问能否帮忙并把Donald扶进屋,第四段又提到他主动提出并帮忙建了斜坡,这些行为说明Steven Smith善良且乐于助人。

Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA心源性猝死) is a serious condition where the heart suddenly stops beating effectively. It is one of the leading causes of death worldwide, and knowing what to do can save a life.
What causes SCA? In most cases, it happens due to arrhythmia (心律失常). The heart’s electrical system goes out of control. Instead of beating regularly, the heart muscles start to shake rapidly and irregularly. As a result, the heart can’t send blood to the brain and other body parts. If the heart stops beating, the brain may suffer irreversible damage (不可逆的损伤) in just 4 to 6 minutes. That’s why the first 4 minutes are called the “golden minutes” for saving lives.
What are the warning signs? SCA often comes without warning, but people may feel: chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness (头晕), unusual tiredness, or pain in the stomach, teeth, or left shoulder. If these signs appear after physical activity, take them seriously.
What should you do if someone collapses? Follow these steps:
1. Call for help. Shout to nearby people and ask someone to call 120.
2. Start chest compressions (心肺按压). Place hands on the center of the chest. Push hard and fast, 5 to 6 centimeters deep, 100 to 120 times per minute. Do not stop until help arrives.
3. Use an AED (自动体外除颤仪) if possible. It is safe and will guide you.
4. Keep going. Continue chest compressions until medical staff take over.
SCA is serious but preventable, especially for teenagers. Follow three key points: exercise regularly, eat healthily, and have regular check-ups. Take good care of your body, stay active, and live a healthy life to keep SCA far away.
66.What does the underlined word “collapses” in Paragraph 4 mean?
A.Has a fever and a sore throat.
B.Feels very thirsty and tired.
C.Has a stomachache and backache.
D.Falls down and stops breathing.
67.Why are the first 4 minutes called the “golden minutes”?
A.Because the heart will start beating again in four minutes.
B.Because people can call 120 most quickly during the time.
C.Because the brain may be in great danger if treatment is late.
D.Because doctors need at least four minutes to help the patient.
68.Which of the following is the correct order of the steps to save a person who has SCA?
① Start chest compressions. ② Call for help and ask someone to call 120.
③ Use an AED if possible. ④ Keep going until doctors take over.
A.②①③④ B.②①④③ C.②③①④ D.②③④①
69.What is the author’s main purpose of writing this passage?
A.To teach readers how to do difficult medical experiments.
B.To explain the structure of the human heart and how it works.
C.To introduce the latest medical technology for treating heart diseases.
D.To remind readers of SCA dangers and encourage healthy living.
【答案】66.D 67.C 68.A 69.D
【导语】本文是一篇说明文,主要讲述了心源性猝死(SCA)的相关信息,包括其成因、预警信号、应对措施以及预防方法,旨在提醒读者注意SCA的危险并鼓励健康生活。
66.Follow these steps提到:“1. Call for help... 2. Start chest compressions... 3. Use an AED if possible... 4. Keep going...”,其中“collapses”出现在该段开头,根据后文描述的应对措施,如“开始心肺按压”“使用自动体外除颤仪”等,可以推断“collapses”指的是“倒下并停止呼吸”。因此,选项D正确。
67.第二段提到:“If the heart stops beating, the brain may suffer irreversible damage (不可逆的损伤) in just 4 to 6 minutes. That’s why the first 4 minutes are called the ‘golden minutes’ for saving lives.”,说明如果心脏停止跳动,大脑可能在4到6分钟内遭受不可逆的损伤,因此前4分钟被称为“黄金分钟”。
68.Follow these steps提到:“1. Call for help. Shout to nearby people and ask someone to call 120. 2. Start chest compressions (心肺按压). 3. Use an AED (自动体外除颤仪) if possible. 4. Keep going. Continue chest compressions until medical staff take over.”,说明正确的顺序是:呼救并让人拨打120;开始心肺按压;如果可能,使用自动体外除颤仪;继续按压直到医护人员接手。
69.最后一段提到:“SCA is serious but preventable, especially for teenagers. Follow three key points: exercise regularly, eat healthily, and have regular check-ups. Take good care of your body, stay active, and live a healthy life to keep SCA far away.”,说明作者的主要目的是提醒读者注意SCA的危险并鼓励健康生活。

Have you noticed that eye contact is becoming less common in a world filled with screens. But it used to be an important part of connecting with others. It’s clear that phones and computers have changed our daily lives. They make us bored more easily, and sometimes we pay attention to our phones more than the real world around us.
As for me, I like to think of eye contact as a kind of art. Good artists pay close attention to the world so they can express it well. Good eye contact helps us connect better with people.
But it’s not always easy. Through my work, I’ve helped many people improve their eye contact with a simple and fun exercise called “Silent Storytelling”. As the name shows, you need to tell a story without any sound. You move your mouth and use facial (面部的) expressions, but don’t speak out loud. Your goal is to make your listener understand the whole story just by watching you. You don’t act out each word. Instead, use your eyes and expressions to share the story clearly. You’ll find that when you really want to see if someone understands you, without using words, good eye contact happens naturally. This exercise helps you use skills you already have, without worrying whether your eye contact is “good” or “bad”.
So relax, have fun with it, and improve your communication.
70.The writer introduces the exercise “Silent Storytelling” to ________.
A.tell people they should stop using phones
B.say that telling stories is a more useful skill
C.show that talking is harder than using body language
D.teach a game that makes practicing eye contact easy and fun
71.Which of the following is TRUE?
A.Eye contact is no longer important today.
B.Only artists can use eye contact well.
C.Phones make us pay less attention to the real world.
D.Everyone must tell silent stories.
72.What does the passage mainly talk about?
A.Eye contact is very common today.
B.Why phones make us bored more easily.
C.A fun way to improve eye contact with others.
D.Screens have changed our daily lives completely.
【答案】70.D 71.C 72.C
【导语】本文讨论了在屏幕时代眼神交流的减少,并介绍了一个名为“无声讲故事”的练习来帮助改善眼神交流。
70.第三段作者介绍“Silent Storytelling”练习,并指出“it’s not always easy”但“this exercise helps you use skills you already have”,说明这是一个让练习眼神交流变得简单有趣的游戏。
71.第一段指出:“phones and computers...make us pay attention to our phones more than the real world around us”,说明手机让我们对现实世界的关注减少。
72.全文主要介绍了通过“无声讲故事”这个有趣的方法来改善眼神交流。

阅读下面短文,并用英语回答问题 (请注意每小题的词数要求)。
Long ago, two young trees grew side by side in a green forest. The first tree, named Quick, was always in a hurry. “I want to be the tallest tree here!” it said proudly each morning, reaching its thin branches (树枝) towards the sky. It grew wide leaves to catch sunlight but didn’t listen to the kind advice from older trees about growing strong roots. “Why waste time underground?” Quick said angrily.
The second tree, called Slow, worked quietly. “Strong roots can keep me safe in storms,” it thought, trying hard to grow deep roots. Though it stayed short for years, Slow never stopped trying.
By summer, Quick had grown very tall. When seeing its green leaves, people admired, “What a beautiful tree!” But when a strong storm came, because of weak roots, Quick fell down with a loud noise, its branches breaking on the ground. Slow, however, stood still, its hidden roots holding the soil firmly (牢固地).
Over time, Slow grew into a big tree. Birds built nests (鸟窝) in its branches, squirrels (松鼠) hid food in its holes, and tired walkers rested under it. One day, a wise old man stopped under Slow, he said softly, “A tree’s real power doesn’t lie in its height, but in its roots.”
73.What did Quick want to be in the forest? (不超过10词)
74.Why did Slow grow its roots first? (不超过10词)
75.According to the wise man, where does a tree’s real power lie in? (不超过l5词)
【答案】73.It wanted to be the tallest tree./The tallest tree. 74.Because strong roots could keep it safe in storms. 75.A tree’s real power doesn’t lie in its height, but in its roots.
【导语】本文是一篇记叙文。文章通过讲述两棵树的成长故事,传达了一个哲理:真正的力量不在于表面的高度或速度,而在于扎实的基础。
73.根据第一段中的“The first tree, named Quick, was always in a hurry. ‘I want to be the tallest tree here!’ it said proudly each morning”可知,Quick想成为森林里最高的树。故填It wanted to be the tallest tree./The tallest tree.
74.根据第二段中的“The second tree, called Slow, worked quietly. ‘Strong roots can keep me safe in storms,’ it thought, trying hard to grow deep roots.”可知,强壮有力的根系能让Slow在风暴中保证自己的安全。故填Because strong roots could keep it safe in storms.
75.根据最后一句“One day, a wise old man stopped under Slow, he said softly, ‘A tree’s real power doesn’t lie in its height, but in its roots.’”可知,智者认为树的真正力量在于它的根。故填A tree’s real power doesn’t lie in its height, but in its roots.
