Orbis: Bring Light to the Blind
Part 1: Read and Explore
Orbis is a famous international charity organization. Its main goal is to help blind people and people with eye problems around the world. Many people in poor areas cannot see clearly or even go blind because they have no money for eye care. Orbis works hard to bring light to these people and help them see the beautiful world again.
Orbis has a special "flying eye hospital" — a plane that is turned into a mobile hospital. Doctors and nurses on the plane travel to different countries, especially poor areas. They give free eye exams and operations to people with eye problems. They also teach local doctors and nurses how to treat eye diseases, so more blind people can get help even after the plane leaves.
Many kind people work for Orbis, including doctors, nurses and volunteers. They give up their time and even money to help the blind. The doctors do difficult eye operations for free. The volunteers help with the hospital work, talk to the patients and give them care and support. All of them hope to help more blind people see again.
Orbis plays a very important role in helping the blind. It not only gives free medical care to people in need but also teaches local medical workers new skills. With Orbis’ help, thousands of blind people have seen the world again. It also lets more people care about blind people and understand their difficulties.
We can also support Orbis in small ways. We can donate some money to help them buy medical equipment. We can also tell our friends and family about Orbis, so more people can join in to help the blind. Every small effort can help bring light to a blind person’s life.
