One morning, Diane was taking her daily walk on a beach in Tasmania when something in the sea caught her eye. It was a glass bottle floating (漂浮) in the waves. She picked it up and found a note inside. To her surprise, the note was written in Spanish. Diane decided to find out its meaning, so she asked her brother for help. They worked word by word and translated the sentence: “Life has taught me that anything is possible.”
The note also had a name, a Colombian address and an email. Diane learned the note was from Erika, a woman from Colombia. Years ago, Erika was bored on a cruise (游轮) ship. She wrote the note, put it into a bottle and threw it into the sea. She hoped someone would find it, but the chance seemed very small. Later, she was busy with work and family. She seldom checked that old email.
Diane sent an email to Erika at once, sharing the story of finding the bottle. Months passed, but there was no reply. Diane felt disappointed and put the bottle on the shelf.
One day, Erika suddenly checked her old email and was deeply moved by Diane’s message. She wrote back excitedly and invited Diane to meet on the same beach. Soon Erika flew all the way from Colombia to Tasmania. They met by the sea, hugged warmly and walked along the shore. China is entering a new exciting era of space exploration! On January 22, Chuanyuezhe, a private aerospace (航天) company in Beijing showed a meaningful plan: its professional space tourism services will be started in 2028. The company’s self-developed spacecraft (宇宙飞船) Chuanyuezhe-1 will take tourists to the Karman Line (卡门线), which is 100 kilometers above the Earth.
Chuanyuezhe-1 can carry seven people at a time. During the 2.5-hour flight, tourists will experience 3 to 10 minutes of wonderful weightlessness (失重) and enjoy the amazing blue view of Earth on the spacecraft. Safety is the most important thing for this trip, so its “Cloud Landing System” has passed many strict tests to fully keep tourists’ safety. Each ticket for the space trip costs 3 million yuan, and people need to pay a 10% deposit (押金) to reserve a seat.
So far, more than 20 people have successfully reserved their seats for the first flight. They are from different fields like science, business and technology. Famous Chinese actor Huang Jingyu is also among them—he says it’s a great honor and will take professional training hard for the special space journey.
Space travel was once just a far dream for most people on Earth. Though the trip is still very expensive now, the company will work hard to lower the travel cost step by step, hoping more people can realize their space dreams in the near future.
31. When will Chuanyuezhe-1’s first space tourism flight be started?
A. In 2026. B. In 2028. C. In 2030.

C. To prove the company cares about tourists’ safety.
33. The underlined word “reserved” in Paragraph 3 probably means ________.
34. Which of the following is TRUE?
A. Tourists need to pay 300,000 yuan at first, if they want to join in the project.
B. This project will be led by both private company and government.
C. The company can lower the cost of space travel in a very short time.
35. What would be the best title for this passage?

Team work makes us stronger.
Together we can overcome difficulties and finish tasks better.
1. In ________ interview, Tina shared her experience as a team leader with all the students.
A. a B. an C. the
2. After failing in the last project, her team was a little disappointed ________ the difficulty.
A. at B. of C. to
【答案】A
根据固定搭配“be disappointed at sth.”
3. ________ she was upset, Tina still faced it positively and tried to find out the reasons.
A. If B. Although C. As
4. She thought “________ we divide the work according to everyone’s strengths?”
A. What if B. How about C. Why not
【答案】A
What if如果……
5. The next day, Tina ________ the tasks and communicated with others about the plan.
A. pointed out B. left out C. gave out
pointed out指出,left out遗漏,gave out分发。根据“communicated with others about the plan”可知是在安排计划,分配任务符合语境。
6. She encouraged them to keep trying and believe in ________.
A. themselves B. they C. their
【答案】A
根据“encouraged them to keep trying and believe in...”
7. A month later, her team won the final competition. They couldn’t help ________ and cheering for their great teamwork.
A. cry B. to cry C. crying
8. “Lots of work ________ by our team together.” she said.
A. finished B. was finished C. were finished
9. As a team leader, I ________ decide everything alone.
A. can B. have to C. shouldn’t
can能够;have to不得不;shouldn’t不应该。
10. Therefore, whenever we meet difficulties, please remember ________ can help us achieve the goals.
A. cooperation B. weakness C. strength
【答案】A
weakness(弱点)为负面含义,直接排除。

“This moment, I’ve waited 20 years… We won!” On March 28, 2026, Zhang Xue Motor made history at Portugal’s World Superbike Championship (WSBK). Valentin Debise won the championship by riding Zhang Xue Motor’s 820RR. It’s China’s first win at this top event.
Zhang was born in a small village in Hunan in 1987. Zhang Xue had a difficult childhood. He was too poor to go to school. At 19, he fell in love with motorcycle engines (引擎) and dreamed of becoming an excellent racer (赛车手). To be noticed by a racing team, he rode over 100 kilometers in the rain to run after TV reporters. “I don’t care about being on TV. I just want a racing team to see me and let me in.” he said. In 2013, with only 20,000 yuan, he went to Chongqing to start his own business. In 2024, Zhang built his own brand (品牌) and decided to develop Zhang Xue Motor’s 820RR with a self-made engine. Some friends advised him to just make popular models to earn quick money. But Zhang refused. He believed that without his own engine, he would always depend on foreign suppliers (供应商).
Many young people are deeply touched by his special journey from a small-town motorcycle repairman to a maker of world champions. Zhang Xue once said, “If you don’t try your best when you’re young, you’ll regret it when you’re old.” His words and lifelong passion for his dream have greatly encouraged many young people.

第一空:文章第二段提到“He was too poor to go to school.”,说明他因为贫穷无法上学,所以此处填poor。
第二空:文章第二段提到“he fell in love with motorcycle engines and dreamed of becoming an excellent racer.”,dream of后接动词ing,所以此处填becoming。
第三空:文章第一段提到“Zhang Xue Motor made history at Portugal’s WSBK.”,所以此处填made history。
第四空:文章第二段提到“In 2013, with only 20,000 yuan, he went to Chongqing to start his own business.”,所以此处填2013。
文章第二段第一句明确指出:“Zhang was born in a small village in Hunan in 1987.”
接着指出原因:“He believed that without his own engine, he would always depend on foreign suppliers.”
文章最后一段提到他从小镇修车工成长为世界冠军品牌的制造者,并引用他的话“If you don’t try your best when you’re young, you’ll regret it when you’re old.”,体现了他坚持不懈、有梦想、敢于挑战的精神。 因此可以概括为:“I think he is brave/persistent/passionate/strong-willed. Although he met lots of difficulties, he still stuck to his dream.”
