“On the first day of 2024, I saw the snows of Kilimanjaro (乞力马扎罗山),” said Xu Zhuoyuan, a 17-year-old climber from Hunan.
Xu climbed to the top of the tallest mountain in Africa on 1 January. She even stood on the top of Mount Qomolangma last May, making her the youngest Chinese girl to climb to the top of the world’s highest mountain from the southern side.
Xu’s climbing journey began on a family trip to Xizang and Sichuan four years ago. Passing by Mount Siguniang in Sichuan, she felt amazed by its beauty and decided to try climbing it. She fell in love with mountain climbing right then and there.
For the next few years, Xu did hard training. She went to the mountains in Yunnan and Sichuan every month, climbing mountains over 5,000 metres and doing daily physical exercise like running, swimming and rope skipping. All that hard work helped her face the big challenges on Mount Qomolangma and Kilimanjaro.
Above 4,000 metres on Mount Kilimanjaro, the weather conditions are similar to those of a desert. The whole climb took seven days, during which Xu faced changeable weather such as rain and strong winds. Staying warm as well as avoiding heat loss was the main challenge.
Looking ahead, Xu plans to climb the highest mountain on each of the seven continents and visit the North and South Poles by the time she’s 18.
22. When did Xu Zhuoyuan reach the top of Kilimanjaro?
A. On 1 January 2023. B. On 1 May 2023. C. On 1 January 2024. D. On 1 May 2024.
23. What is the correct order according to the passage?
①Xu did daily physical exercise. ②Xu tried climbing Mount Siguniang.
③Xu climbed to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. ④Xu climbed to the top of Mount Qomolangma.
A. ②①④③ B. ①②③④ C. ②④①③ D. ③④②①
24. What does the underlined word “those” in Paragraph 5 refer to?
A. Mountains. B. Weather conditions. C. Deserts. D. Climbing challenges.
25. What was the main challenge when Xu climbed Mount Kilimanjaro?
A. Taking a long time to the top. B. Getting hurt by strong sunlight.
C. Having little water and food. D. Keeping warm and avoiding heat loss.
26. Where is this passage most likely from?
A. A science report. B. A travel guide. C. A personal diary. D. A news story.

China’s tourism market will grow this spring. Some provinces are giving primary and secondary school students a “spring break”. This idea was also discussed at the Two Sessions (两会). The government supports these breaks to help families travel and spend more money.
Many cities have made plans. For example, students in Chengdu will have a three-day break from April 1 to April 3. If they combine (结合) it with the Tomb Sweeping Day holiday, they can have a six-day holiday. Nanjing and Suzhou have similar plans.
Travel companies say the tourism market will see notable growth this spring. Flight searches and bookings for late March and early April have doubled. Popular family trip places include Sanya (nice beaches), Kunming (good weather), and Guangzhou (delicious food). Some families also plan to visit Hong Kong, Macao, Bangkok or Singapore.
Experts think this policy is good for families and the economy (经济). Oi Chunguang from Tuniu says spring breaks encourage family outings and educational tours. He added that if the break is in late April, people can combine it with the May Day holiday for a longer trip.
Lu Ming, a government adviser, thinks the policy should go nationwide. He says it helps students reduce stress and gives parents a chance to travel with kids. He also suggests that companies should give parents paid leave. This will let families enjoy time together and feel happier.
27. When is Chengdu’s spring break?
A. From late March to early April. B. From April 1 to April 3.
C. From April 4 to April 6. D. From March 28 to March 30.
28. What can we learn from the spring break policy?
A. It only helps students enjoy themselves.
B. It is good for students, families and the economy.
C. It makes flight tickets more expensive.
D. It will replace all traditional holidays in China.
29. The underlined word “notable” in the passage means ________ in Chinese.
A. 缓慢的 B. 可能的 C. 显著的 D. 微小的
30. Why does the writer mention Sanya and Kunming?
A. To show where the popular travel places are.
B. To suggest that people can travel abroad.
C. To tell that people only like beach holidays.
D. To prove these cities have no spring break policy.
31. What’s Lu Ming’s advice about the spring break policy?
A. It should only be carried out in big cities like Chengdu and Nanjing.
B. Companies should provide paid leave for parents to travel with their kids.
C. The spring break should be combined only with the Tomb Sweeping Day holiday.
D. The spring break should be canceled nationwide soon.

Can you imagine “raising lobsters (养龙虾)” on your computer? It sounds strange, but it’s one of the newest trends in the technology world.
It has nothing to do with real seafood. In fact, it comes from an open-source AI project (开源人工智能体) called OpenClaw. This AI project has a lobster-shaped logo. It looks lovely and lively. People are greatly interested in this design and call it “the lobster”.
So, what makes OpenClaw so special? Unlike most traditional AI tools that can only answer your questions, OpenClaw is far more powerful—it can really take action for users. It runs directly on the computer and is able to check your emails and open your apps. What’s more, OpenClaw never sleeps. It can finish tasks day and night without getting tired. This makes life easier for many busy people. Most importantly, OpenClaw is like an “international dish”. It has no borders (国界). Developers from all over the world can work together to make it even better.
However, raising a “lobster” also brings big risks. In February 2026, researchers found over 40,000 OpenClaw copies (副本) were open and unsafe online. That means it can’t always protect your personal information. Also, anyone can add new skills to OpenClaw, and some skills might carry dangerous viruses.
OpenClaw is an amazing tool. The future belongs to smart helpers that act for us. The “lobster” may soon play a big part in our lives. But the real question is: Are we truly ready? No matter how fun and helpful new technology is, safety must always come first.

A. importance B. situation C. decision
【答案】A
【解析】
【详解】句意:我们所有人不得不认识到校园安全的重要性。我们应尽全力保护每一位学生。

A. until B. if C. although
【答案】A
【解析】
【详解】句意:直到你自己亲自阅读这部经典作品,你才会知道它的美。

【答案】
例文
“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” As Grade 8 students, we all enjoy our 15-minute break time.
Recently, our class has talked about how to relax during breaks. In my opinion, the longer 15-minute break brings us more fun and clear benefits. I often play basketball with friends because it helps me stay active and healthy. Sometimes, I also chat with classmates, which makes me feel happy and relaxed. Besides, I enjoy listening to music to refresh my mind. These activities not only improve my physical health but also help me make more friends. In short, a good break makes our school life more colorful and meaningful.
