Many social media posts may make you believe that everyone is happy all the time, but being happy all the time is not possible.
As a student, you probably hope to get good grades in an exam or to win the most important basketball game, but it doesn’t often happen. Good results make you happy and bad results make you sad. But sadness can drive you to improve yourself next time.
However, when you get into sadness for a long time and it starts to affect your life, it’s called depression. You don’t want to get out of bed. You don’t feel like studying or going out with your friends. I remember the same feeling when my dog Rebel died in an accident. I remember that he followed me to school. Then he was gone, and I lost all interest in doing anything. My parents told me dogs don’t live forever. What’s more, Rebel had a good life. If I had a good life, Rebel would be happy too.
Depression is not a person’s mistake. It’s normal to feel sad sometimes. Many great people once got depressed. But you should know what to do to stop depression or make yourself less depressed.
When you feel blue, you must not keep yourself away from the world. Try to share your feelings with a family member or a good friend. Staying at home by yourself will make you lonelier. You should stand up, open the window, and throw away the sadness.

“Kids like to choose salty snacks, like chips”承接软饮料,继续列举垃圾零食,贴合上下文零食榜单话题。
“His parents decided to do something to help him”起到承上启下作用,衔接 “有烦恼” 到 “开始运动”。
“It is about 45 days a year of sitting”一年算下来相当于坐着待45天,用数据承接每天看电视时长,突出久坐不动的危害,贴合语境。
“Good living habits help you keep fit”良好的生活习惯帮你保持健康,总括全文所有建议,作为结尾段主题句,引出最后总结寄语。

43. What makes people think everyone is happy all the time?
A. Some short videos. B. Some social media posts.
C. Some TV programs. D. Some funny films.
44. What does the underlined word “depression” mean in the third paragraph?
A. The state (状态) of feeling sad. B. The state of feeling angry.

A. Everyone gets depressed easily.
B. Rebel is a famous talk show actor.
C. Sharing with others is helpful when we feel blue.
D. Sadness can’t make us improve ourselves.
46. Who is the passage written for?
A. Parents. B. Teachers. C. Doctors. D. Teenagers.
47. What would be the best title for the passage?
A. Talking to Your Parents Often. B. It’s OK to Feel Sad Sometimes.
C. Some Ways of Keeping Healthy. D. How to Be a Successful Person.
