What does Rose have in common with thousands of kids? She is not getting enough sleep. Have you ever stayed up later than you should? If you have, you know that not getting enough sleep can leave you feeling tired and upset. You may have even noticed that it’s hard to think clearly and stay focused (专注的) when you are overtired.
Need some motivation (动机) to go to bed on time? Here are some important advantages (好处) of getting a good night’s sleep. After a good night’s sleep we are more energetic, smarter and even happier.
Do you like to play sports? It has been shown that football players, swimmers and tennis players all perform better after a good night’s sleep. Your coach may not tell you this, but the simplest way to improve your performance is to get enough rest.
Do you want to improve your grade? Healthy sleep habits improve your memory and your ability to pay attention to tasks, making schoolwork seem easier. While you get a snooze, your mind is very busy so you needn’t get a good rest like a long sleep. Researchers have found that it’s easier to learn after a good night’s rest. So, it’s no surprise that students who get enough sleep get better grades than those who don’t.
Science and experience have shown that getting a good night’s sleep is the key to success in whatever you do. Get a good night’s sleep. You’re worth it.

Most swimming pools make sure that the water is comfortable enough for people to get into. However, in open water swimming, the water is often much colder, even in summer. It’s not the same as swimming in the pool. So many people like to wear a wetsuit (潜水衣) to help keep them warm.
If you want to swim in the open water, here are some rules for you to follow. First, choose a safe place. You can ask the workers there and they can tell you the safest place. Next, never swim by yourself. Always have an adult (成人) swimmer beside you. Third, wear a bright swimming cap. It can help people find you easily if something dangerous happens. Fourth, don’t swim too far and stay close to the river bank or the beach if you are in the sea.
Remember all these rules and you can have a great time swimming in the open water.

Adults tell them not to follow hyenas into the forest. Hyenas sometimes attack and even kill people. But the boys did not listen. Then their flashlight died. In a minute, the hyenas turned and ran after the brothers. The boys tried to climb into a tree. They didn’t get down until the hyenas lost interest and left.
Hyenas used to (过去) eat wild animals in the forest. But as people burn down forest land for farming and some people kill wild animals, hyenas find food much more difficultly than before. Hyenas begin to run to the villages. “Hyenas make nighttime a scary time for us,” said Amon Chengeta. Villagers often hear hyenas laughing at night. Many villagers lost cows or goats. Some people even lost their lives.

After a good night’s sleep, we are more energetic, smarter and even happier.

【答案】例文
Saturday, March 15th Sunny
Today, our English teacher led us to do voluntary work at the children’s hospital. We helped cheer up the sick kids. We told them funny stories and played games with them. Some of us sang songs for them, and others read books to them. We also made some beautiful cards to give them hope.
I’m glad to see the smiles on their faces. It made me feel so warm inside. Through this activity, I realized how much a small act of kindness can mean to others. I hope we can do more things like this to bring joy to those in need.
