Nowadays, our country has been making greater efforts in the river’s environmental protection and high-quality development. Many wetland nature reserves (保护区) and parks have been built along the river. Each year, over 400 million tons of sand has been stopped from being washed into it. Our mother river has become much clearer than before. It’s sure to bring us more benefits.

According to a new survey, students’ safety has become a big problem. Nearly 50% of students say they are worried about robbery on the way to and from school. Now in many big cities in China, some schools have taught an unusual lesson: self-protection. Students like this lesson because there are no exams or boring classes. And they can learn how to save lives and know how to stop danger before it really happens. Chen Haoyu, a teacher at a middle school, gives young students suggestions on how they should deal with danger.
If you are robbed
Keep calm. If you cannot cry for help or run away, give the robber your money. Try to remember what the robber looks like and tell the police later.
If you are in a traffic accident
If a car hits you, you should remember the car number. If it is a bicycle, try to call your parents before you let the rider go. This is because you don’t know how seriously you are hurt.
If it is raining hard and there is lightning
Don’t stay in high places and stay away from trees.
When there is a fire
Get away as fast as you can. Put wet things on your body and try to find an exit. Do not take the lift.
If someone is drowning
Whether you can swim or not, don’t get into the water. Cry out for help.
Remember that danger is never as far away as you think. Take care of yourself at all times!

The deep ocean is a world of almost complete darkness. Yet, surprisingly, it shines with living light. Many sea animals have a special ability called bioluminescence — they can create their own light. This is not for beauty; it is an important tool for living.
In the upper (上层的) ocean sunlight still reaches, being seen can mean danger. So some animals keep away from the light area during the day. ________ Others use light in clever ways to hide. For example, certain shrimp (虾) can light up their undersides. They make the same light as that from above. So other hunters can hardly see them from below.
But why do some sea animals shine brightly when touched? There are two main reasons.
First, a sudden bright shining can scare a hunter, giving the smaller animal a chance to run away. It’s like shining a bright light in the hunter’s eyes. Second, light can call for help. When tiny fishes are caught, their shining acts like a “warning”, drawing larger fish that might hit the hunter. For these slow-moving fishes, light becomes their best protection.
Light is a tool for hiding, a way to run away, and a call for help — a true language of living in a dark world. According to a recent study, the bioluminescence of sea animals has many useful applications in our life...
66. What does the underlined word “bioluminescence” in Paragraph 1 mean?
A. The beauty of sea life. B. The tool used by fishes.

67. Which of the following can be put in ________?
A. This is how animals catch shrimps. B. But no food can be found there.

68. Why do some sea animals shine when touched?
A. To move faster. B. To drive away hunters.
C. To help larger fish. D. To look more beautiful.
69. What will probably be talked about in the end?
A. The world of sea animals. B. The study of light.

There is a famous expression in English: “Stop the world—I want to get off!” This expression is actually about a feeling of stress, which makes people want to stop whatever they are doing. Why not try to relax? “Stress” means pressure. It is one of the most common causes of health problems in modern life. Too much stress results in physical and mental health problems.
There are plenty of physical effects (影响) of stress. Stress can affect the heart. It can make the heart beat faster or miss beats, and can also cause high blood pressure. Stress can cause a person to breathe too fast and can also result in stomachaches and digestive (消化) problems. These are a few examples of illnesses resulting from stress.
Emotions are also easily affected by stress. People who have too much stress often feel worried and tired. When people are under stress, they often overreact (反应过激) to little problems. For example, a normally gentle parent under a lot of stress at work may shout at a child for dropping a glass of juice. Stress can make people angry or nervous easily. Long-term stress can lead to different kinds of serious mental illnesses. Depression (抑郁), a terrible feeling of sadness and hopelessness, can be the result of continued and increasing stress. Being unable to sleep well is sometimes caused by stress and is often made worse by stress. If stress continues, then one’s mental health is at risk.
It is clear that stress is a serious problem. It has a great influence on our health. So, cut down stress, stop the world and rest for a while.
70. How might people feel when they say “Stop the world—I want to get off!”

请阅读下面短文,并用英语回答问题(请注意每小题后面的词数要求)。
In January of this year, I took part in a ‘Sharing Thanks’ activity. After finishing it, I sat on a train home, thinking about the kind people around me. Then I started to write some thank-you notes to those who once gave me a lot of help before. When I got off the train, I felt really happy. The next day, sending those notes brought me more happiness. At that time I got an idea: Why not write thank-you notes every month?
I came up with a theme (主题) for each month. January was for teachers. In February, I thanked my neighbor. He was a friend of mine and he had a bookstore. He often held free reading clubs for kids. In the following months, I kept writing. In March, I showed my thanks to the doctors for they took good care of my family. In April, with the theme of workmates, I wrote to Julie. In the letter, I told her how much I missed her delicious dishes. How thankful my husband and I were for the biscuits she made for our ninth anniversary(周年). Julie said it was the most touching letter for her. In May, I chose the theme of family. I first wrote thank-you notes to my parents. I thanked them for raising me up and always being there whenever I need help. Then I wrote to my husband for his patient listening and understanding.
I don’t know if I’ll write notes every month, but I do know this: the habit of saying "thank you" will never leave me.

The Yellow River flows from the high mountains to the sea, from ancient times to today. It gave birth to one of the oldest and most outstanding (优秀的) cultures in the world—the Yellow River culture. In the hearts of Chinese people, the Yellow River is the mother river. It will play a more important role in our country’s development.
The Yellow River carries lots of yellow sand to the water when running through the Loess Plateau (黄土高原) , so that its water is yellow. Because of its yellow water, it is called the Yellow River.
The river starts from Qinghai Province in Northwest China. It flows through a lot of places before emptying into the Bohai Sea. The 5464-kilometre-long waterway feeds about 12% of China’s population and provides water for about 15% of fields and more than 60 cities.
