Heavy rain and rising rivers may cause a big flood. We need your help. Please learn about flood-prevention projects around the world and give us advice. – Mayor” 提问： What problem does the mayor have? What can we do to help? 引出课题：”Today, we’ll study three famous flood-control projects and become flood prevention experts to help the mayor.” 设计意图：创设真实求助情境，赋予学生“专家”身份，增强学习动机与任务感。 Step 2: Pre-reading 活动1：核心词汇铺垫 每组发一套卡片：A组（工程名词），B组（功能短语）。 名词卡：dam / barrier / delta / safeguard / completion 功能卡：hold back water / protect from high tides / control water flow / prevent flooding 学生配对并说出完整句： “A dam can hold back water.” “A barrier protects from high tides.” 教师演示动作（如用手臂挡住水流表示 hold back water），学生跟做并说词。 快速抢答：教师说中文“屏障”，学生说barrier。 活动2：预读表格引导 1.  展示教材第1题的表格（Country/Project/Location/Effects），提问： T: "When we read about these projects, what information do we need to collect?" 引导学生说出：Where it is → What it is → What it does 2. 带领学生预测：Where do you think these projects are?
